Can someone give me details about The Disney Club? Is this replacing the Magic Kingdom Club? Is it worth $39.95? What type of discounts do you get for Disneyland admission, resort hotels, restaurants, etc?
THANKS!

Yes it is replacing Magic Kingdom Club, and yes it is worth it if you use the discounts. You can get more answers to your questions over on the Budget Board. There was one thread over there that might be of interest...

Hmmm... but there are still room discounts (sometimes), meal discounts (at certain restaurants), and discounts at certain stores, right? Or has it changed that much? I recall having gotten MKC discouted park passes at the gate a few years ago. Has it changed that much?

I get confused because I have APs, AAA and Amex discounts. So many discounts to be had, I could spend myself into poverty taking advantage of them all. ;)

California Mom,
We are DC members. We took a trip to Disney World a couple of weeks ago. We saved a bunch of money with our tickets and room discounts. We are not having as much luck at Disneyland. The booklet that was sent as part of the DC package says that you can get $10 off of a Disneyland Resort 4-day passport. That is the only ticket that we have found any discounts on out there besides the annual passports (but I've heard they are not selling those at this time). They said that they do offer discounts on certain packages. The only thing is that they won't usually give you any information unless you are already a DC member. That was very frustrating when we were trying to decide on whether to join or not. I guess that you just have to take your chances.

I am very disappointed in the disney club rules and regulations (limited discounts etc). I thought when it replaced the MKC, it would be pretty much the same discounts. BUT I was wrong. They offer coupons with "certain" promos, that expire after so many days/months. Not everything is discounted like with the MKC. I wanted to buy 3 day passes for DL and found the discount to be just $2 off, big deal. I don't need the resort discounts since I am a DVC member. And the discount for the disney store (merchandise), limits you to "certain" merchandise. You cannot apply the card discount to art, collectibles, mini bean bag toys or Theme park tickets. That's basically why we purchased this club card, but they don't tell you those limits before you join. As a matter of fact the promo letter introducing the Disney club (which intices you to "Join the club"), details the plan and states right on the brochure that they have exclusive offers on multi-day Disneyland Passes, but what they leave out is the fact that you have to buy during the coupon dates or you're out of luck. We didn't buy them and the date has passed, (Feb 7th) now we pay full price for our pass (actually minus $2 ea). The coupon offered $6 off.

Just my 2 cents worth, I don't fel it's worth the money. I basically joined because my DVC membership doesn't have discounts on park passes, so I was really using this club for those discounts. Live and learn.
