The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane

I know some people on this thread might think I'm totally mad, but I bought two Disney dresses - the Tiki Room one and the Monsters Inc - and got my seamstress to cut the top off and put a new waistband on them to turn them into skirts.

I actually had the Tiki Room dress for about six months before I had it amended and only wore it once in that time. I just think they're too fancy for everyday wear and I don't go to enough events that it would be appropriate for to get a lot of use out of those dresses. The skirts on the other hand? I wear ALL the time. During the summer I can put on a tank top and flip flops and they're cute but casual, or a pair of heels and a nicer top and it works for a more fancy event. Just so you know, it can be done ;)

THIS! I like having a versatile wardrobe too. :thumbsup2 You and me sister all the way! ::yes::

Outlet update the Vineland location has tons of the Snow White dress in 2x & 3x and a good amount of 1x and 2x navy orange bird (I know they also had at least one straight XL that if I didn’t have the white version I would of totally dropped $60 on )

Two weeks ago, the Vineland outlet also had a bunch of the Mary Poppins and the pink Fantasyland ones, as well as the Orange Bird and Snow White. Don't know if they're still there, and the size selection was definitely limited. They had a bunch of the apple bags, too, and a bunch of the smaller ones like Dr. Facilier.
I was there on Mar 3 and got an Orange Bird. I believe I got the one XL they had.

Anyone received new dresses or accessories??? Would love to see photos, please share!!! :flower3:

When the Zombie purse first debuted I was tickled to see it available at ShopDisney and when they had a 25% off sale I had it in my cart along with the matching dress but got distracted. The following day just One Day Later, the purse was sold out! Who knew?!?

It was the dress, that darn green Trader Sam's dress was throwing me off. I really didn't want it nor do I have it but I needed x amount to get free shipping and I was fried at looking at merchandise I didn't need nor want just to get free shipping. :sad1:

Then a friend of mine who recently visited WDW was able to by it for me at the Emporium. She gave it to me a few days ago, literally gave it to me as in gifted. :faint: What a very pleasant surprise! :woohoo:
So now, after the heartbreak and many tears I shed I bring you my Trader Sam's Crossbody / Zombie handbag! :rockband:

I love the Up dress and the Mickey Through The Years one but I’m in the UK and the shipping / customs charges will probably be terrible :( Plus I can't get my DVC / AP discount unless I’m there :( I wish we had another trip planned this year.....

There has to be a way you can get these dresses without these charges. Isn't there a UK thread of those attending WDW soon who could help you? It never hurts to ask. :flower3:

I do have a friend from the US visiting in July so it might be an option, but I still would have to pay full price - do they ever do sales online? Otherwise it is tricky as there are limits on what people can bring back without charges.

Yes normally we see 25% off and ShopDisney will ship the item to her and she can bring it to you when she visits. I think this is your best option. I'm thinking another sale should be coming soon, around Easter so keep checking your emails. You never know when they'll have a "flash" sale or a "limited time" sale.

The other option is to have it delivered to her and she can mail it to your resort when you visit WDW. Note there will be a $6 charge, please go here to learn more:

Yeah I’ll keep an eye open. I will have to check with my friend as we probably won’t get back to WDW this year....

Late posting these, sorry! I ordered the Snacks dress basically the day it went online. I ordered the Large first, but damn these dresses are made for a larger bust than I could dream of. Even with a push-up bra on, I can't fill the top. You can see in the right/second pic that the princess seams on the bust are WAY wide of where they should fall. These dresses (I own the Tiki dress too) also have too long of a torso for me. The waist hits my hips really hard, making an unflattering poof of fabric on my "love handles" (hate that term but it's the best way to explain how this is a bad thing, lol). Sorry about the socks etc. :P

I decided to try the medium and hope it wasn't too tight in the waist. I think it fits me the same in the waist but it's a much better fit in the bust, so this is the one I'll be keeping. I am going to get the torso altered to be shorter. The first pic (on the left) is how it fits me normally, and the second pic is with the torso tucked so it's about an inch shorter. Also, interesting side note, the large seemed longer and it also had wider straps. I'm quite happy with the medium and can't wait to wear it for my birthday trip in May!

Are the straps on the back not adjustable? I would try to do that first if not than try to pin the straps up 1/2" or more to find the correct placement for your waist. Do this at the shoulder, it's much easier ;) Once you get the dress to fit correctly there measure how much you "took in" at the shoulder and rework it in the back where it's sew in. Hope that made sense. :scared:

FYI - You look great, your closet not so much  All kidding aside, what a fun print!

They are adjustable, but when I shorten them I don’t like how the bust fits. It looks odd higher. :/
