The Journeys of Lil Medic

We are at it again, but this time we brought the car.

The trailer is my friends from work, he offered it up on Tuesday and I picked it up that night after work. It was a tight fit on the trailer.

But after 1 1/2 drive we are back at Babbling Brook, same campground and site as 2 weeks ago.

Last year I bought a light strip that goes on the back of pickups for the car. I didn’t want those magnetic lights for towing. You can see the lights on the bumper, and they are on in this pick.

I bought 25 feet of wire with the flat connectors on both ends and put it in the split loom and ran and secured it under the car and the other connector comes out from the front bumper to plug into the MH.

A little windy out tonight so no fire. Low is going to be 46, so we will have a small fire in the MH.

Not going to leave it running all night, just taking the chill off then turning on propane heater, DW is a freeze butt.

As long as it's tight on the tires and not the body of car. LOL

PS. I had to hide the syrup from my kids. Thanks again

I am glad that if anything the trailer fenders rubbed against the tires and not the car fenders if turning to sharp.

Not a problem with the syrup, I know where I can get plenty.
I have a couple jugs in the MH in case I run into anyone on the boards.

Hoping our trips to Norfolk and Peoria don’t get cancelled again next year. Maybe we will see some more Dis members.

Sitting outside and having my coffee. It is 54 degrees and the river is beautiful. DW just walked out and sat next to me with her throw blanket. Going to get lil medic up in about an hour and make breakfast, maple sausage and eggs then it will be off to a museum. Pics coming soon

The museum was a nice tour. Just waiting for the pictures to upload to my iPad so I can see the pictures better for descriptions, but here is a little preview of where we went.

Pictures still haven’t transferred over to my iPad yet, but here are some pics from the Wilder Farm.

First the out buildings. All the barns where destroyed in a fire and reconstructed. When archeologists found the original foundations, at 8o+ years old Almanzo describing them to Laura was only 1 foot off.

Obviously not the original hand pump but you should be able to see one hanging on the wall in the right corner. It was hand dug by Almanzos father and is 13 feet deep. C2D3C1D8-4A0D-46E1-ADED-F24DC22E48BF.jpeg

The barns where used to house the livestock, feed, the three buggies, and also where they processed there wool for clothing and clothes.

It was a nice tour, DW is a fan of the little House series and I asked more questions than she did.

The Wilder property is just to the east of Malone NY, the tour was 1 1/1 hrs long and 35.00 for three people.

I was going to say, I absolutely love little house on the prairie. I watched the show, read the books, and watch the reruns. Ah the simple but hard life.

There is a homesite marker in Westville Florida, up in the panhandle from when they lived with relatives from 1891-1892. i don’t believe the house is there but the church they attended still is, maybe, with the hurricanes not sure though.
