August 2020 -
Disney is (or at least was) reportedly planning several things, however. Again, due to the situation, we don't know how much (if any) will actually happen. According to a wdwmagic source, Disney was originally planning a new nighttime parade for Walt Disney World, however has since shifted to looking to bring Paint the Night from Disneyland to Magic Kingdom. In order to do that, a modification would need to be made. Mack, the truck from Cars that is featured in the parade, would not be able to make the parade route at Magic Kingdom. So Disney could just leave him out or they could have a new float planned for the move to Florida.

We have discussed refurbishments for the 50th in these round ups before, and we have some more info on that. Disney was rumored to be updating or refreshing the following attractions for the 50th. Some of this could still happen, and some may not. It's hard to tell right now.

August 2019

Brazil is still expected to be coming to Epcot and The Walrus at WDWMagic is saying we could see some more as part of this project such as an attraction.

From Martin on WDWMagic

The west building will be razed. In its place will be two main buildings and a collection of simple, smaller ones. One main building will be where M&G will be located, the other an unusually shaped (think egg) multi level facility for festival operations, events and entertainment. It will indeed include an upper level bar / cafe type environment.

The much talked about water element will be an IP tied water maze near the Seas pavilion as has been discussed earlier.

There will be lots of winding pathways and foliage in this area. There is a proposal for a fountain feature where the existing one is. This may be the same or a replacement.

Circulation will be concentrated around the edge of what is currently the central area as opposed to walking in a straight line. Think of pathways following the current inside perimeters of east and west. And yes, there will be alcoholic beverage seating outside roughly where the current Mousegear rotunda is.

The east building will stay pretty much as is with a lot of cosmetic work. Merchandise will be where it is now, whilst the north east quadrant will become solely food and beverage.

The walkway(s) to Showcase will remain as-is albeit with the west addition widened and new landscaping on the central pathway. Lakes will remain as-is.

Disney has confirmed Future World goes way for three new neighborhoods. Future World gets a full remodel. Several new attractions and a SSE refurb.

Martin at WDWMagic says Spaceship Earth should close later this year.

November 2019
Fountain View and Fountain of Nations are gone. Innoventions has begun to go away as well. A new temporary Starbucks will be set up towards World Showcase.

January 2020
New festival pavilion slated for 2023... per Martin on WDWMagic

February 2020
Spaceship Earth refurbishment may not be as extensive as originally thought per Martin on WDWMagic. The load and unload track may not be rerouted. There still would be scene changes/updates. This could change the timeline too.

March 2020
Construction has stopped due to COVID-19 closures.

July 2020
Epcot renovation plans are seeing significant changes. Disney confirmed Mary Poppins is
postponed as well as the Spaceship Earth redo. SSE will likely still see some sort of refurb. Disney also said they are re-evaluating the plans for the festival center.

From Martin on WDWmagic
Temper your expectations. This will be a modest overlay of the current interior of the dome. Lots of cosmetic changes, but with the pathway and positioning layout of Wonders of Life - which will be fine for the target demographic.

Food and beverage will be a resurrected Pure and Simple. Three IP based “attractions” in the walk through / playground sense will be around the perimeter. There will be a simple stage show exhibit, reminiscent of the Goofy About Health / Anacomical Players set up.

The central area will be remodelled but remain the same rough layout.

Aside from a short switchback in and out of Frontiers of Medicine the Cranium and Simulator areas will not be utilised. And yes, I understand the ceiling windows will be covered for a projection effect on the interior dome.

Opens in time for WDW 50th, includes water play area with Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and an Edna Mode experience.

Play Pavilion could see changes and/or be delayed due to COVID-19 closures.

2. Wreck it ralph Attraction in Stitch's Great Escape - "Magic Feather" (wdwmagic)

3. Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot (Started as Guardians at ToT in DHS) - "WDW1974" (wdwmagic), Martin Smith (wdwmagic).

4. Mission Space update and fix up- Martin Smith (wdwmagic)
Shouldn't this be pinned at the top? Otherwise it is going to get lost in the shuffle as updates may be sparse,s at least at first.

I see the current rumors are from wdwmagic - is it legal to link to the posts where the rumor was made? or, alternatively, link to a thread on disboards to discuss the rumor to keep specific discussions off of this thread?

More rumors from various places will be added, that's just what I've started with. I can link to where they were made but in some cases that's going to be hard for me to find going back through threads that are 200+ pages long.

I understand that. Maybe just for new rumors you add? It's just nice to be able to see the source easily.

Thanks for starting this thread. I don't go to other boards much, so it's nice to have everything here!

Do you want to add in The Great Movie Ride, RNR, Sum of All Thrills, & the personalized screens?

I could add in GMR yes. RnRc is a spotty rumor. What about Sum of All Thrills? It closed but we have no rumors of what's replacing it yet.

Ah, I hadn't caught Sum of all Thrills had officially been announced, sorry. Ok, then how about the personalized screens, or dvc at Caribbean?

Looks great Ryan - Love the idea

Would you also track how things have changed over time? Like how GotG was first rumored to be at Wonders of Life, then changed to UoE/ Or just keep track of the most current status? I think it would be neat to track how things change overtime but know that is more work

Yes I can track those things but GOTG was never first rumored at WoL, they rumor had a phase 2 at WoL but the coaster has always been rumored for UoE.

have you added the expansion of Epcot? Per Martin at MDWmagic - this could be a substansive as DCA in DLR. Looking at fixes for FW as well as additions in WS. Granted, I don't know it has been spelled out exactly what will be done, but it is a very substantiated rumor.

Awesome Idea, I LOVE data ! You thinking about just following "Parks" rumors ? What about construction rumors in general such as the DVC expansion at Caribbean beach resort ?

Would it be possible to add dates? When it originally came out, was updated, or died. It might help with keeping track of developments
