So we left off with the boys finishing their beer, me finishing my cheesecake and onward to the Magic Kingdom.
We reached the TTC without much hassle (keep this in mind...we had a terrible navigator and we weren't hassle free most days
). W park in the furthest Villians lot you can imagine and all I can think is "wonderful, look at the crowds." We only had a short wait for the monorail though so it wasn't too bad.
We get to the Magic Kingdom and since it was earlier than expected (it's only about 2pm as opposed to the 4-5 that we expected) we went for some Splash fast passes then headed for Pirates and had a decent ride. There was the man in front of us that kept taking pictures with the flash of EVERYTHING, however I made sure to speak up after EVERY flash, so yes our ride was ruined, but so was his
I can be rude like that lol.
Our Fastpasses we're due until about 6pm, so after Pirates we headed over to my favourite and your...the Haunted Mansion. We had a wonderful ride. We ride boys in one car and girls in the other and I had a blast watching Cindy's reaction to the ride (remember this was her first visit), she loved it!! As I thought she might
Some pics of us in line...
And yea there are several pics photobombed by my brother...BUT heaven forbid we try that with pics of him and Cindy
Anyway, onward...after HM I sent the gang over to Columbia Harbour House (with my order) and I ran to get a FP for Jungle Cruise. I made good time and got back just as they were sitting down. We had an awesome meal - as always CCH did not disappoint. Goofy and Cindy were pleasantly surprised, Cindy told me she didn't know what to expect but she figured it would be typical themepark fare, which it obviously was not!
After dinner and some wandering we decided to use our Splash FPs. Here's where the nightmare comes in. Goofy is definitely not a rides person, AT ALL, but was willing to go on for Cindy. So we're waiting in the 10 minute FP line and he's being very loud and kind of grouchy (which is what he does when he's nervous). We get into the log - Han and I in front, Cindy and Goofy in row 2 - and off we go. For about 5 seconds, we stop at the top of the lift right at the beginning. And when I say stop I mean STOPPED on an incline for about 15 minutes (and believe me it hurt the neck trying to hold your head up at that awkward angle) We asked if we were going to be let off and multiple times we were told we would be moving in a minute. At this point Goofy has become VERY quiet and everytime we spoke to him he would get VERY snippy, which clearly upset us all. Well as I said, 15 minutes later we were moving again, however exceptionally slowly. After about 3 more stops we made it to the final lift, right under the vultures...where we stopped AGAIN. Permanently this time, we were evacuated after about 50 minutes on Splash, which is kind of ridiculous. The CMs new it and we were all given fast passes good until the 31st.
This would have been great, but we were on the ride so long that now we had to decide whether we use our Jungle Cruise FPs OR get our seat for the Mainstreet Electrical Parade. It was PACKED today and it was already 8pm, if we didn't get a spot we probably never would. I talked to a manager and she was kind of snippy, our conversation went something like this...
Me: "Excuse me, I was wondering. We have FPs for Jungle cruise but we need to get a seat for the parade because it's so busy, we weren't expecting it to take this long on Splash, is there anything you can do?"
CM: "Why didn't you use the other FP first?"
Me: taking out the Jungle Cruise FP "Because they weren't until after this one"
CM "Well FINE, you can have some, but maybe you should plan better next time"
Me: "Umm thanks? But there's no need to be rude it was a simple question"
Then we just walked away with the CM in a huff...obviously giving 150 extra FPs was stressful, but a simple no would have been sufficient...thought we did get our extra passes so it was all good.
We headed out toward mainstreet and I looked at Hans phone only to find out it was only 7pm...not 8 like I thought
Oops...no wonder the CM got snippy. Oh well, we all make mistakes, so we used one of our extra passes for the new Little Mermaid Ride. IT was OK, Cindy loved it...the boys hated it, I thought it was OK. By the time we got off, it was ACTUALLY time to sit for the parade.
Looking back we should have skipped the Little Mermaid and went straight to mainstreet, because when we got there it was PACKED. I had an idea of where I wanted to sit but there were no spots available. We were all tired from the 2 days of travel and running around the magic kingdom, so this is where the meltdown occurs.
As I'm looking for a spot I hear from a party member "we can just sit somewhere else...unless that is it will deviate from your plan, we don't want you to get angry" Well this comment makes me angry, but all I say is "fine". Apparently this was the wrong thing to say as then I was accused of having attitude etc. So here we are in the middle of mainstreet hashing it out about who's giving who attitude and what is and isn't appropriate to say. I'm told that "I'm ruining everyone's vacation and I need to calm down" which clearly upsets me more. So needless to say We were not happy by the time we actually found a spot. However the meltdown apparently helped because we were good after that...
Oh and the Parade was great, here's the reaction of Cindy's first time seeing a float
(she'll kill me if she knew this was here
- but in my defense, she told me to take a pic of her reaction)
Following the Parade and a wonderful Wishes show (as always), we headed back to the monorail only to decide the line was MUCH to long. So we took the ferry over to the Poly and walked to the TTC, then ALL the way back to the car.
Let me tell you, we slept like baby's that night!!
Up next - DHS, Star Wars, More rides for Goofy (surprise, surprise he actually likes them!) Mamma Melrose and Fantasmic!
