I really enjoyed staying at AKL but really the busses were terrible.

Hello, just popping by! Guess those magical TR writing elves didn't finish this TR off for me then? Okay I guess I'll have to do it myself! I will get this finished! I will!

Day 6, Part 1: Hurrah! Storm Troopers To Stalk!

Originally when I was planning this trip I had booked 50’s Prime Time for an early lunch at 11:30am today, but the night before we agreed to cancel it. Mostly because I had booked so many ADRs we really just weren’t hungry anymore!

So instead we hit up Stormalong Bay and had a chilled out morning...until I lost DM in the lazy river! Turns out she had gotten herself stuck in one of the rings and had floated off without me!

I freed her, well after I finished dying from laughing of course!

We went back to the room to chill. Our next ADR was at 4:20pm so we headed out to the boat dock.





Any ideas where we were headed? If you said Epcot...

We were off to DHS! Not that I took any photos of the entrance of course. I like to stay consistent.

But I did take these StormTropper photos!







Fun fact about DM she has a rather (un)healthy obsession with Stormtroopers and was a wee bit excited! I may have lost her as she ran off to stalk them!

Once I managed to get her back we were off to a new area for us!




I will let you all get over your shock as I did just say that Pixar Place was new for us. I know, I know and I call myself a Disney fan! But let me explain...we just never really cared enough to go before!

Mostly it was because our park strategy prior to FP+ never included rope drop (not that it really does now either!), which meant that all the old school paper FPs for TSMM were always gone before we arrived. And the constant 90+ minute standby queue was not appealing so we just never made it to that part of the park. Till now!


I had seen pictures of the queue but it really is very cute.

So how did we like our first ride on TSMM?

We loved it! Wished we had done it sooner! And in typical DM style she wanted me to change our FPs!

I actually did a TR writer essential (shocking!) and took a photo of our score.

I won.

It was getting close to our ADR but we took a quick detour into One Man’s Dream to take some random photos...cause why not!

Kitchen Kabaret! Okay, okay Soarin’ is better...but that’s the only one!

Tokyo Sea! How cool is Tokyo Sea?!I really, really want to go to Tokyo Disney. I may or may not have a trip in the works...

Anyway...we skipped the movie (I’m sorry Walt!) as it was time to eat! Our ADR was for my favourite DHS place: Sci-Fi Dine In!

Day 6, Part 2: How Rude!

I really do love me some Sci-Fi, who doesn’t love eating in a dark warehouse that looks like an outdoor 50’s drive in?! If that is you then you must hate fun!

Unsurprisingly I didn’t take many photos of the inside of Sci-Fi for two reasons: 1. That place is hellla dark! And 2. This is my TR...when do I ever take helpful photos? Did you really think I was going to start now?

I did take some wonderful photos of the food...okay fine I took photos of my food!

I had the buffalo popcorn chicken.


It was okay, but the chicken was pretty dry. I also got this burger.


It was very burger-y.

All in all I enjoyed our time at the dine in. But it was time to leave.

I’m sure DM was just as enthused by her choices, but we will never know!

Bellies full it was time to hit up some more rides! First up: Muppets!









Off to Star Tours! And look what we have here!



The chosen one! Again I failed in my mission for blur-free Star Tours photos! Oh well!

Ooohhh! Look at that beauty in the distance!

And look at that beauty in the close up!

As I mentioned earlier DM had now declared her desire to live on TSMM so we had to get our ride on again! Did we do any better on our second ever try?

Yes. Yes we did! I won...again! As we made our way back towards the front of the park I lost DM...again! Turns out something, or should I say someone had caught her eye!

As I ran to catch my Storm Trooper stalking mother I overhead a woman trying to get a photo with the roaming Storm Troopers only to be told they were “on patrol”, well this lady was none to pleased and unleashed her inner Stephanie!

It was rather amusing! DM had stalker her prey all the way to the Launch Bay, which was convenient as that was where we were headed!

Day 6, Part 3: Great! Now I need to buy liquid nitrogen!

Okay, I think it’s time for a teeny, tiny confession….I don’t like Star Wars. There I said it! I have seen all the original films and (sadly) all the prequels…

Luckily by the time the new films came out I no longer lived with my brother and didn’t have to watch them!

So I don’t really have any interest in Star Wars, so why did we venture all the way to the Launch Bay (other than the stalking incident) I hear you ask? Well what I lack in Star Wars enthusiasm I more than make up for in fireworks enthusiasm...and even more in dessert enthusiasm! And as luck would all the three things came together in the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party!

Look at all the things!

They had blue stuff! Which I’m sure has great importance to Star Wars! Just don’t ask me what it is!

But then it happened. The moment I never knew I was waiting for...frozen nutella!

This was the stuff was everything!

Seriously I am super tempted to just buy myself some nutella and a liquid nitrogen thingy and just live on this stuff! I don't even like nutella! Mysterious magic!

While I was devouring my new favourite thing these guys were wandering around.

Those...ermm...weird looking...ahhh...things...in robes! They crack me up! Anyway back to tour of the Star Wars exhibits! Enjoy!

Unfortunately I have to stop this in-depth Star Wars lesson here as it was time for fireworks! DM was very happy as we were guided out to our viewing area by Stormtroopers! Now don't worry I of course crushed it when it came to taking fireworks photos.

You are welcome. I did enjoy the fireworks, and the projections were cool. Alas it was time to leave DHS and head back to the Beach Club.

I have been planning a big Asia trip, might be next year or the year after. Travelling around Japan, China and South Korea, which is why I have been studying Japanese (which is hard), Mandarin (which is harder) and Korean (which I am actually pretty comfortable with) so I can spend few weeks going around each country. So there you go, bet you are glad you asked!

Day 7, Part 1: Could I get some food to go with my food?

Since we were staying at the Beach Club it seemed crazy to not make the most out of Stormalong Bay. Today I advised DM to skip the pool rings and just free float it in the lazy river. Think that was a good call.

I had booked us a late-ish breakfast at Captain’s Grille so after we finished in the pool we nipped back to the room to change. Where I took this random, mildly deranged looking selfie.



You’re welcome. Off to breakfast!




As we waited for our food I decided to rearrange the condiments on offer.


Does anybody else do this in restaurants? Anyone? No?

Our breakfast arrived and true to my PTR word I got my pancake on!


Side note, can someone from that side of the pond explain the difference between pancakes and flapjacks? Are they the same? Are they different? Is this a breakfast food conspiracy I don’t know about??

Anyway, breakfast food conspiracy aside I enjoyed my pancakes, hey wait a minute! These aren’t my pancakes!



Clearly I am getting better at this whole taking photos of DM’s food thing!

Breakfast was very nice, can't go wrong with pancakes. We didn’t have anything planned for the rest if the morning so we headed back to the room and relaxed.

Then before we knew it, it was time to eat again! We were having a busy day.

I won’t lie, when I booked the ADRs for this trip I may have gotten a teeny tiny bit over excited and over planned by, oh I don’t know, twenty million ADRs! But hey, when in the Beach Club eat at Beaches and Cream!




This is such a cute little spot. I do love me some American 50’s nostalgia! Now this is where I let my inner foodie out and ordered something very adventurous to satisfy my extremely high class taste-buds:

Yep, I got a hot dog!

And it was really good! DM got her usual of who-the-heck-knows with fries. Then we left.

Just kidding! Of course we got some ice cream.

I suggested that we get the Kitchen Skin but DM shut that idea down fast.

Instead we got the Milky Way sundae. And here comes another food conspiracy:

I'm kidding! She is wearing clothes!


There see! I told you she was wearing clothes! And she was happy, I promise!

Boy oh boy those sundaes are huge! We only managed to get about half way before we had to admit defeat.

We both really enjoyed our meal at Beaches and Cream. We shall be back!

Day7, Part 2: I Made A Friend!

After Beaches and Cream we waddled back to the room, enjoying the view as we went.


Once we got to the room we both flopped onto our beds.

Food coma kicking in! But we couldn’t pass out just yet! We had park plans! To Epcot! DM was thrilled to be heading out!

I had made some FPs but I was missing my second favourite Epcot ride!



And my favourite villain's assistant!

Strangely Kronk was now moonlighting as a flight attendant. Weird.


It was fun to see new Soarin’, but I do miss the orange smell of the old version. Seriously Disney stop taking away my orange smells! Anyway, off to the next attraction! To World Showcase! I need to build a snowman!

Luckily the wait wasn’t too bad…





Just a quick 90 minutes!

Guess it’s a good thing we have a FP!


Verdict? It was cute. Would I wait 90 minutes for it? Erm….no. Would I use another Tier 1 FP for it? Umm...not if I had a say in the matter! I liked Frozen, I love me some Olaf and Sven but I don’t think it belongs in WS. Maelstrom, while dated, at least tried to capture actual Norway, trolls, boats and this guy:

But what do I know! After we visited the very real Norweigen area of Arendale we headed back into WS.



I love the China pavilion.








I took this photo to send to my language tutor, promising to get some kimchi!

(Spoiler alert: I did. I hated it!)

And I took the compulsory pickle tree photo.

Or really anything miniature?

I tried to take some arty photos...here there are!

Oh look it’s Remy!

When we got back to the room DM headed back to the pool while I hung out on the balcony with my new best friend.

He was very interested in my Cheetos but I resisted his cute little face.

DM returned from the pool and we spent the rest of the evening watching TV and relaxing.

Day 8: We All Float In Magic Kingdom!

After our super chill day yesterday you would think we would be ready for a jam packed park day right?

We did have big plans but not until later in the day. In the meantime shopping was calling my name! Downtown Disney Springs here we come!

We browsed a few shops, mostly on the hunt for some kind of MNSSHP appropriate attire. I did find a Halloween t-shirt, but I didn't take a photo of it.

Clearly the clouds were very upset by my lack of photography that they started crying...alot.

Well, guess it’s time for lunch then! To Jurassic Park...I mean T-Rex!

It was packed at T-Rex as everyone and their mother was trying to avoid the rain.

On the plus side we found some really cute dinosaur ponchos in the gift shop!

Don’t get excited, that isn’t my photo. Anyhoo we finally got called to get our table.

It was very cool in there, if not a little dark...and red!


It was here I made a really stupid error in ordering my food, for some reason I decided that I really wanted waffle fries, even though my burger came with them I felt that would never be enough.

Yeah…this was too many waffle fries…

The food was okay, nothing special but really in the Rainforest Cafe brand the food isn't the main focus is it? Would I go back?

But it was a fun experience! It was still raining when we left T-Rex so we put on our snazzy new ponchos and headed back to the Beach Club. We didn’t have any plans so we relaxed in the room before getting changed for the rest of the day.


This is just the epitome of expect photography isn't it? So where were we headed? To our first ever MNSSHP!

When we got to Magic Kingdom the rain had stopped so it was looking like a lovely night for a fright! Well a not so scary one anyway.

We had an ADR at the Plaza for dinner, but in true Lu style for some reason this is the only photo I have:


I swear I thought I had taken photos of the food here. But apparently not.

But never fear! I totally remember what we ate.

Gosh darn it I should have done a dining report! Oh well! Too late now! I'm sure dinner was good. Let's go with that! We had a FP for Splash Mountain so off we went!

Of course Splash was amazing as usual.

It was getting close to the time for the party to start so we went off to find the CMs handing out the wristbands and candy bags.

We had one last FP before the party started and it was a new ride of us! Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! As we got to the front of the line we scored front row. We were pretty excited...and then it started raining again. So we waited...and waited...and waited.

A lot of people left but we had faith, we would get on the ride! Except we didn't! They closed the ride.

But we didn't really mind, we were at our first MNSSHP! There is loads to do! Maybe we should try for an inside ride! To Space Mountain! But first ponchos.

It was raining pretty heavy by this point and I was regretting my shoe choice.

But we made it Space Mountain and had a good ride. When returned to earth the rain had really set in and the gift shop was mobbed with people avoiding the rain. We spoke to a CM who said that pretty much no characters were meeting and all the special photo ops had been removed. She also said they would probably end up cancelling all the castle shows and Boo To You.

Now I'm not bothered by rain but there had been thunder and lighting, and not naming names but someone is pretty terrified of thunderstorms. I asked DM what she wanted to do and she was ready to leave, so we made the call to head out of MK.

We could have waited it out, I did hear later that they had the Boo To You parade later and Hallowishes but we had another party booked later in the trip and once DM has made up her mind...well you go with it!

I took some photos of the castle as we left.



It doesn't look bad in the photos but it was very, very wet.

We caught the bus back to the Yacht Club and it was eerie here too:


We meandered back to our room and got dried off and called it a night.

All in all not the best MNSSHP I have been attended, granted at that point it was the only one, but we more than made up for it later on in the trip.

So how did we like our first ride on TSMM?

We loved it! Wished we had done it sooner!

Tokyo Sea! How cool is Tokyo Sea?!I really, really want to go to Tokyo Disney. I may or may not have a trip in the works...

Oooh exciting! I hope you go!! I really want to see it. Maybe someday. Tokyo is, like, really far from Canada.

Okay, I think it’s time for a teeny, tiny confession….I don’t like Star Wars. There I said it! I have seen all the original films and (sadly) all the prequels…

Amen, sista! I want to like Star Wars, but I just don't. I get a lot of flak from the SW-loving hubby about it, but I just can't get into it.

Hah! Gape saber. baha.

Interesting! What is this? Is it a dessert square? A breakfast bar? A weirdly rectangular oatmeal cookie?

I won’t lie, when I booked the ADRs for this trip I may have gotten a teeny tiny bit over excited and over planned by, oh I don’t know, twenty million ADRs!

I also have this problem. I'm pretty concerned about how many ADRs I've got going on for our upcoming anniversary trip. Pretty much every day I have a breakfast/brunch booked, and also a dinner. And I know I'll also end up eating ALL the snacks and/or quick service at lunch time...it's gonna be a food-heavy trip.

Boy oh boy those sundaes are huge! We only managed to get about half way before we had to admit defeat.

Right!?? They're massive! It was like a window to a whole new world when @pkondz told me about the half order option. But...there's something that just seems wrong about getting a half sundae here. I dunno.

Strangely Kronk was now moonlighting as a flight attendant. Weird.

This is always my first thought when I see Patrick. I like to picture him going down the aisles of plane with his drink cart, creating his own theme music as he goes...

Yeah...I wouldn't go back either. We've done both restaurants at least once. The husband likes them, but they're kind of one-and-done's for me.

We could have waited it out, I did hear later that they had the Boo To You parade later and Hallowishes but we had another party booked later in the trip and once DM has made up her mind...well you go with it!

Too bad you missed most of your party!! But I can see why you made that call knowing you'd have another chance at it later in the trip.

The pictures are actually quite lovely with all the surfaces all wet and reflective-like. Pretty!

Day 9, Part 1: My, My What Big Melons You Have!

Today was check out day of the Beach Club.

But it's okay because that means it's check in day for our new hotel! Which is very exciting!

So we got packed up and called bell services to come and get our bags to be transferred. I'm sure no one is surprised but I seem to have forgotten to take any photos between waking up and leaving the hotel...

But I can assure you we did check out of the Beach Club and made it to Epcot! We had a FP for Spaceship Earth, but again you will have to trust me. After that we had lunch at Electric Umbrella and I had that good old Disney staple chicken nuggets!


I also made another friend.



Again I didn't share my food. He may have been offended.



Oh well!

Then we made our way to my favourite Epcot pavilion: The Land!


I had a little surprise for DM, I had booked us the Behind The Seeds Tour, which I was super stoked for.

But it was something she wanted to do and as the amazing daughter I am I suffered through it!

While we were waiting for the tour we saw these little plants which DM really wanted, but she decided to get it later...which she proceeded to forget about and we only have this photo. I wonder where I get my amazing memory from?


Now prepare to be shocked as I do have photos of the Behind The Seeds Tour!
