Uh-oa, I've Turned Into A Disney Snob! updated 12/5

your Campanelle looks divine! we are going on a sibling trip in Jan and my brother requested a day at HS :sad2: HS is the one park that i feel lacks in food variety, but mama melrose looks like a hit! *Makes ADR*

I'm going in January too with a bunch of friends!! Went last year for the first time in January and we loved it...the low crowds and weather were awesome. Hopefully we'll have the same luck this time. My family just decided over the weekend they want to go back so we booked for end of April into May. We will have my 3 year old niece, who's only been once before when she was about 6 months old.

So since I'll have 2 trips in like 5 months, I'm planning on purchasing an AP. Honestly, never thought this would be happening lol but I'm so excited! Do you find that you save a lot on food/merchandise with the AP discounts?
I'll be there the 10-14! I love it in January the weather is great and I am a huge fan of the art festival at Epcot.
Welcome to the AP club! The little discounts and do add up, I love my disney merchandise so the 20% is great to have.

It was amazing! Yes to January trips!
See I love 50s primetime, the pot roast is great and I love the atmosphere. I also love the atmosphere at SciFi although I think they could get a better menu. But Mama Melrose is great. We were never allowed to eat there growing up because my mother doesn't like Italian food.

Poca Dream Team

By the time we got off RnR there was already a big group of people in line for Fantasmic. Since ToT was still too long of a wait for us we just decided to hope into the fp line. The amount of people that watch Fantasmic at one time gives me anxiety. The process of the snail pace walk and people pushing and squeezing through in order to get the best seat is awful and something I avoid at all cost.
Look we saw Pocahontas we can go home now.

38441312991_14f8515d9a.jpg

38441312321_17f1119eb5.jpg

Even with the crazy herd of fp holders we were able to snag the front row. Only down fall to fp is that is was on the wrong side of the mountain where poca stands.

37726332694_d06a5ffe34.jpg

With four of us holding the bench hostage it was now time to try and find the others coming in with the crowds. The first one to show was Anthony, Alicia's bff from Tokyo. He came with 2 other guys that I did not know. Then BFF Danielle aka Dee came. The first thing she said to me was that she was sorry that she took her baby out of town when I came too town because I love her child.

37554463925_deacfbf89e.jpg

This was a viewing of Fantasmic that had me laughing not stop, not because the show changed or things went wrong. It was all the comments that were made during it. Things I’ve learned was don’t but me and Dee together. First off she was putting a lot of pressure on me to get all those good shots (spoiler alert: I don’t have a classy enough camera to get those up close crisp photos.) Then during ever water part I had to be a human barrier so she didn’t get wet. And the funniest thing was the point of the show when we saw a guest balancing their camera on the fence, we weren’t focused on the show anymore we were a bundle of nerves thinking that camera was about to go head first into the water. Then we were told it was wrapped up and secure on it….awkward.

24570187778_213f570323.jpg

Today was the first night Moana was on the boat, I knew that going into the show because when you have a person on the inside you get all the details. However I was specifically told “Don’t get pictures of her instead of Pocahontas”

Once the show was over we let the crowds leave and jam to mine and Brittany’s favorite playlist. Those Disney mixes are our favorite!

37554464855_f2ceea04fc.jpg

We were officially the last people in the theater and the security guard was kind enough to put up with us and all our photo ops.

After we all walked out of studios and went our own ways.
Brittany was coming back to the lodge because it would be the last time I would see her before I left. So it was off to the ridiculous tram line. The best thing she said was “I was in a rush that I forgot where I parked” So here’s the three of us walking around the studios parking lot in search of baymax (which is the name I was kind enough to give her car)
Thankfully the parking lot isn't huge and she had somewhat of an Idea of where she parked. Then it was back to WL to swim until the pool closed. At 11 Brittany headed home and told me I better make it down for a halloween party or she would be very upset (Spoiler alert #2 I did make it down for a MNSSHP!)
The night was still young so we decided to go down and check out the new WL cabins. Emily’s villa flooded and so they got upgraded to a cabin for the rest of their stay and she was kind enough to invite us over.
First thought walking into it…I could call this home and live here forever.
Then once arriving it was I guess hot tub time but Sam just swam and wasn’t about putting on a wet suit so I dipped my feet in. They lasted a solid 5 minutes before they decided it was too hot and moved too the master bedroom tub where they put ice cubes in the water. And I blew all their minds when I turned on the tv in the mirror

The highlight of the night was a good round of hide and seek. Although the space under the beds are a place to store your suitcases it’s also a good place to hide. After an eventful night we all just hung out and relaxed until 1am before headed back to our room.
On our way back Erin became super excited about having to scan her band to get up to club level.

AHH I'll be there the 8th-13th!! Where are you staying? I got a super cheap rate at Sports with my Disney Visa (before I decided on getting an AP but still so cheap). We were there the same week last year and the weather was awesome last year so hopefully it will be the same this year! We were actually at Epcot for the first day of the Arts Festival last year so I didn't know much about it other than the food. We saw some of the photo ops and stuff, but totally missed the giant paint by numbers. Didn't even know about it until we got home. I was sooo bummed! Really hoping they'll have that again!!

We're staying at AKL because it was one of the only options with the CM holiday discount. But I'm not complaining. The paint by numbers was my favorite thing besides the concert they had.

Just a little late but joining along :thumbsup2
Welcome! Better late than never

This Trip Is Brought To You By AK

Today was our last day in the parks and I wanted to rewind back to a week ago and start all over again. But since we couldn't do that we got ready and headed off to the first park of the day, the park where we spent most of our days at...thanks pandora.

38521742382_c07bbf0237.jpg

But before we headed for pandora one last time we enjoyed the dead park that AK is in the morning. So first up Dinosaur.
My favorite thing about time traveling to catch Dinos are the people who freak out throughout the whole ride. And the girl in front of us was dying.

38521748062_154c4d83d4.jpg

Next up it was time to see if we could squeeze a ride to meet a yeti before our fp for flight. Lucky for us it was only a 15 minute wait...which was basically a walk on.

24681271548_76a1351fff.jpg

26777522409_e90a83c1d6.jpg

As we walked to pandora we walked across the bridge connecting it with the harambe village. As we were walking we watched a kid coughing up his lungs. And even though he was clearly chocking his mother was yelling at him to cut it out.

38521748712_409dea7c52.jpg

The best feeling is having a fp for flight and not have to wait in that 3 hour line. A guy in front of us tried getting through the fp line when he clearly didn't have a fp and just tried playing dumb. While this can work at some attractions (since CM, mostly CPs don't care and will let you in) it won't work at the most popular attraction at Disney at the moment. Better luck next time.
With our last flight of passage for this trip we were off to find some food. The pandora food was a hit in our book and Erin insisted that she got another rice bowl.
I couldn't pass up this great quick service. Plus everyone was raving about the pods, so I decided to go with that, but in the kids menu form. Overall 10/10

24681273388_acea0cdc9c.jpg

26777518199_a2f8d199d3.jpg

The last ride of the day at AK was Kali River Rapids. Which I hardly ever go on since no one ever wants to go on it and get drenched. So bless Erin for this being one of her favorites.

38521746072_8bb71e685b.jpg

38553494781_2e9b24da7f.jpg

26777521329_6bc736942f.jpg

38553496841_47997f48f5.jpg

And like every Kali River wait I have experienced, it was a long hot wait even with a fastpass. And too top it off our splashing zone for our raft was not where we were sitting. Always feeling gypped after waiting forever.

37685124925_6bb2dd1b3f.jpg

We decided to call it a day at AK and headed back to the resort to spend a few hours by the pool. As we got closer to the bus stop we noticed that our bus was there…we had no intentions of waiting another 20 minutes for another to show up. So it became a game of “if we run will we make it?” This round we made it!
Once making it back to the resort we had a solid 2 hours of sun time. We first started off at the main pool but only lasted at most a half hour. It was prime pool time so it was super busy and their were no chairs. So we picked up and moved over to the boulder ridge pool, where we caught as much rays as we could until 3.
Once 3 hit, it was back to get some snacks and get ready for the night ahead of us.
Before we headed to MK for our last night of fun, we had planned another trader sam’s visit. After our first time we all said we should come again before we all go home because it was non stop laughter. And there is a .00001% chance I will turn down an invitation to Trader Sams.

I'm Fond Of Animatronics On The Left

We walked and walked and walked not having a clue what to do or where we were heading.
The Muppets show was going on so we stopped for a hot second. Erin had never experienced the Hall of Presidents and wanted too. I had to kill her dream by telling her that it was closed because of Trump.

36925311995_e1799ecb04.jpg

36925309885_519c9e1355.jpg

Instead we backtracked towards mansion. It was a good idea since its constantly moving. But jokes on us because the line was to ridiculous for me to wait in. Sorry HM we are not in Disneyland Paris, you are not Phantom Manor, I am not waiting in the hot florida weather for you.

36117279113_e7fa840dc9.jpg

Once again we were back at wondering the frontier. Erin suggested Country Bear Jamboree and I knew that I go to Disney with the right people. First carousel of progress and now country bears.

36017547174_455fb156a4.jpg

The show was already letting in guests and by the time we were entered it was packed! We were able to snag one of the last few seats in the back. Bring on the AC, foot stomping, hand clapping fun!
After Country Bears we had about 50 minutes until the parade and we knew we wouldn’t be able to get any attraction near by down within that time and get a good spot. So we found that wonderful spot on the curb of Country Bears and waited. What makes that spot of of the best? They rope you in from the front and the back to keep the walkway open. Meaning no one can run up once the parade starts and make there way up to the front and take up your personal space. We got these spots even before the PAC (Parade Audience Control) CMs started roping off the spots. Once they did one CM noticed my shoes and made a whole scene and was shocked that I painted my shoes…I just sat there awkwardly like I normally do.
Then the country bears came out and walked around frontierland. Hold Up!
Wendell actually terrifies me but do it for the pic! (A little bummed Big Al wasn’t out)

36712874411_4715df5b60.jpg

Then Shocker came around. His attendant saw my shoes and goes “look shocker it’s you!” As he was walking away she looked closer and goes “oh wait, thats not you” Awkward, it was actually liver lips.
After the high of all the country bear fun Erin was claiming how she needed to jump in a pool. It was humid but at least it was overcast so the sun was beating on us. I also reminded Erin that we had Splash Mountain FPs after the parade then proceeded to ask her if I could get in first when we go on. She looked at me weird and proceeded to ask why? I came up with some random excuse of “I just really like the animatronics on the left side” which her response was “You are so Disney right now, you like the animatronics on the left…” No I just don’t want to get soaked from the waterfall on the right side at the end.
Before we could get to Splash Erin ran to get a Mickey Bar to keep cool.

I LOVE your mountains are calling shirt! Where did you find it?

Dream Big Princess

There are always multiple ways of getting to the Polynesian, but we went with our usual boat ride to the contemporary and monorail to the poly.

37837105854_1361bf98b5.jpg

The whole bag check before getting on the monorail is great until the security cm takes everything out of your bag, line it up on the table and then tells you you are good. So you have to put it all back. Cool bro thanks.
We got to the poly a bit early so we browsed the gift shop and found a free couch near the tv, which happened to be playing sing a longs. Flashback to watching them nonstop as a child.

38613912072_17b4bdb775.jpg

I don't remember falling asleep but I remember Erin waking me up saying miss barb and miss sue were here and it was time to go.
Tonight was a busy night a trader Sam's. The struggle to find a seat was real. To the point where we had to stalk a table and wait for them to be finished.
It was well worth the wait because tonight was the craziest I have ever experienced here. Although it took a while for other guests to order the specialty drinks...once they did it was never ending yelling and laughing.

37758944495_33cb1b99ec.jpg

37758943105_25a7545af0.jpg

With such a rowdy crowd the service was a little slow. So after one drink I was ready to head to MK for the rest of the night. However Miss barb and Miss sue were splitting another one and Erin decided to buy me another one, since she couldn't drink why not give it to me?

37758946615_727530f8d0.jpg

37758945305_1f840a2da0.jpg

It was getting later and later so by 6:30 we headed out of trader sam’s and ran for the monorail. It took a while for a monorail to arrive and once we got onboard we were at a standstill. The doors reopened and we were all told to get off the monorail and wait for the next one. What happened? Who knows. But we got to the kingdom and thats all that matters.
Once arriving I gave Erin the task of going to city hall and getting a fastpasses for pirates at 9. However when I got to her she goes “I got splash instead” Now if it was just the 2 of us it would have been fine. However we were meeting up with a group who had pirate fps. Everyone found us (Emily, Amelia, Krista and Mike) at City Hall where I some how had the magic on my side and was able to get everyone splash mountain fps after a few taps of the magic band.
With the whole fp thing taken care of we headed to comic rays to get some dinner. Emily was kind enough to use her quick service credits on all of us. Upon arriving the story of how I picked the puke table started. Many moons ago Mike witnessed a girl puking up her meal here and back on my program we ate here and apparently I ended up sitting at the table where it happened. I however cannot be blamed for anything since 1) I wasn’t there when it happened so I had no clue where it happened and 2) it was the only empty table I could find.

26870458609_8379183344.jpg

I refused to find a table this time and I was sad when we didn’t sit in the “pukey” area.

Amelia and I shared a thing of nuggs, because we have chicken finger dates with BBQ sauce and Erin grabbed more than enough BBQ sauces.

26870460069_fd2d4c824a.jpg

37928867984_b68901a18c.jpg

After dinner we decided to head over the the whole other side of the park for a ride around the jungle. Since it was almost time for fireworks we had to walk around the whole backside of the park. At this time it was pretty packed and I’ve just become very good at weaving through the crowds. Erin tells me constantly how I walk of the quicker side and if you don’t keep up with me I’ll just leave you behind. This is a bad quality when with a larger group, aka when its not just me and erin. And I’m pretty sure half of the group was 10 feet behind me at one point. So while I waited for them to catch up I took the time to appreciate photo pass day and the tangled sign they had.
#dreamBIGprincess

38646450791_b8fa1b43f6.jpg

I calmed it down with the walking and stayed with the group until we got to the jungle cruise.

38646450921_9ae980c40a.jpg

This river cruise was on the sadder sides, I couldn't hear our skipper and no one was laughing. I tried my best to be his number 1 fan and laugh as much as I could because I felt bad.

Romping Around The Kingdom One Last Time

Once visiting the 8th wonder of the world we headed over to pirates. As we started to make our way through adventureland the fireworks started. But soon the music of pirates faded over Happily Ever After. With the crowds on Main Street we were left with a lovely walk on.

24880430588_f65ae0c0b5.jpg

23890056737_a45bb42756.jpg

After pirates it was time for a plung into the briar patch. However I first wanted to run to the pin shop because I always get a pin for Pa on every trip and this time he wanted a country bear pin. So I ran away ahead to the shop so I didn't waste everyone's time, and there were no country bear pins so that's cool.
After the quick sweep through the shop everyone was standing in the middle of frontierland watching the fireworks. So while we waited Amelia and I had a country bear reunion.

37866811655_74812df71f.jpg

Onto splash as we danced, skipped and danced along to happily ever after.
After our plung down chick a pin hill there was a girl, I gave her the name Mallory, was clapping and screaming at our log that we made it and we were alive.

26977633889_52e782a454.jpg

It was almost closing time, so we squeeze in one more ride. Space was an option but it was on the whole other side of the park. So instead we opted for thunder and was lucky enough to get the back row.

24880430388_d07128ef51.jpg

Then it was goodbye magic kingdom. Or so we thought. Once we hit Main Street Erin wanted to shop, Emily needed water and we all went different ways. But before anything I had to appreciate the halloween stuff because I LOVE disney in the fall!

38037125834_fa7e4b567e.jpg

I left Erin to do her own thing, like I normally do when she decides to shop and I went with Emily over to Starbucks to get water. As we waited for water Emily kept telling me that she needed us to use up her snack credits. So from Starbucks we headed to a crowded confectionary and waiting in the long line to get some snacks. At this point I had no clue where Erin was so I called her to see what snack she wanted and told her where to meet us.
I went with a cake pop for myself and got another one for my friend at work. I always bring her a back a disney treat because she aways puts up with me leaving her to travel.

26979009149_e2e241bff9.jpg

With a big bag of goodies we were off. I have a hard time leaving the kingdom on my last night of my trips, so I stall as much as I can. And what better way to stall then having a major photo shoot on Main Street. Shoutout to the photopass CM who got stuck with us.
First round of photos was the cheesy but cute ground photos (Which a guest walked past us and told us how she started the laying down pics and now everyone is doing it. Little does she know I have been doing this for years)

38723650842_5846eae895.jpg

24881890078_417af79721.jpg

24880433278_a7489e7e68.jpg

Then it was the basic photo (which everyone does and I’m not actually a fan of)

38037129004_2dffce083a.jpg

I wish I remembered what the CMs name was because she rocked, she just kept throwing out ideas for photos.

24880433858_67f313bb7a.jpg

And she was all about laying on main street to get us cute photos

38753551821_e45ac65184.jpg

“I know its cheesy but look at each other and laugh”

37866813195_dd98df81d5.jpg

38037126894_206d7f1564.jpg

Then we broke up the group cause Erin and I have our classic friend pose we do

38722250442_4011cbcd8d.jpg

38753549301_9122ce7148.jpg

The next photo was taken down on the photo pass site. I knew going into that it was probably not going to post because to disney it isn’t safe. And Safe D starts with me. But since the CM didn’t stop us I didn’t think it was a problem. So shout out to Erin for snagging the photo right away before it went away.

24881890528_a923b20ca1.jpg

Doing our forever long mini photoshoot Mike just sat on the sidelines. I suggested he get a solo laying in front of the castle pic but he was about that. So I threw out my last suggestion of doing, what has become our picture go to and shockingly he agreed.

38753550581_edf2d1314b.jpg

Then I somehow ending up getting him to agree to get that castle pic but I mean everyone wants a none basic castle picture, you’re welcome!

24880431678_c803ef1a9e.jpg

We officially stopped the photoshoot and let the CM get back to her job and to photograph other guests that weren’t us. And then they made me leave the kingdom, but I made a promise to myself that I would make it back for a halloween party.
But if you think we left right away, jokes on you because we didn’t, and its me we are talking about. So it was another round of photos in front of the train station.

And as our trip came down to an end I would just like to make a shoutout to Erin for putting up with me for 9 days straight, with all the running around I made her do, with my random burst of emotions this trip and giving me all the Erin hugs I needed along the way, for finally letting me take her to hoop dee doo and agreeing to try california grill, for putting up with all the florida/disney people I needed to see on this trip, for letting me pull you into the Disney lifestyle I'm so accustomed too and getting that AP so now I can drag you on more trips, and overall for being one of the best travel buddies ever! Also lets just appreciate 10 full days of no arguments what so ever!

Goodbye magic kingdom and hello run to the bus. Erin sprinted so fast for that bus but this time she was not successful. Luckily for us WL is right across the street so it wasn’t long till another bus came. The ride home, the paparazzi was out, and on the way home I was just trying to find a fat cat a friend because its owner is never around to play.

Once arriving back home for our last night, we headed to take Emily back to her cabin and on the way there we stopped by miss barb and miss sues room to say goodbye. We weren’t really sure which one it was but there was ameila being the creeper in front of a random door whispering “open your door!” then it turned out we were in front of the wrong door. Awkward.
We said our goodbyes, then we took Emily to the cabin said our next round of goodbyes and then we parted ways from there.
When we got back to the room it was pack up our lives and get ready for our last morning/afternoon in Disney.

Just throwing it out there that you two would make a cute pair. The first picture is hilarious :rotfl:

Hi just binge read your entire trip report and I really enjoyed reading it! I also go when it's really hot, we go every August, but I'm amazed at how much you guys got to do in your trip. We usually sleep in, while you guys were troopers, getting up so early! We stayed in WL this past summer too, Yes Loved those cabanas at the new pool.

Quick question, what type of camera did you use, I thought your pictures were fantastic!

Also you mentioned a "golden oakes" when you saw that van, I've never heard of it, is it a nice hotel?

I loved reading about your dinner at California grill, I feel like it gets a lot of mixed reviews, but your pictures definitely make me want to try it this summer! And trader Sams too!

I find it nicer to get to the parks early when its not super hot and take a break when it is the hottest part of the day.
I have Cannon T5 and use a Tamron 16-200 lens, I also used my go pro and iPhone for some picture taking as well.
Golden Oak are Million dollar homes located near Port Orleans and I dream to live there one day.
California Grill was well worth it! I loved it, it has been on my list for a long time and I was not disappointed at all.

See Ya Real Soon!

After a fun filled 9 days in Disney we had officially hit out last day. Since this trip was none stop, go go go, that was our plan. Wake up and head to the park one last time. However things changed half way through the trip when Alish asked if we could do Whispering Canyon for our last morning, mainly because she got a CM discount here. Plus I couldn’t say no to that banana bread french toast.
The best thing about this plan was I could just roll out of bed and head downstairs for breakfast. Thats the dream. We had reservations for a later breakfast until Alish asked if we could go earlier since her and Justin planned a spur of the moment road trip to Georgia for the solar ecslipe.

Our main reason for coming here was for the french toast and thats what us sisters got and the other two got the unlimited breakfast skillet.

If you have never experienced the shenanigans here it can get a bit crazy if you are in need of some ketchup. The table next to us had a family with 2 unimpressed teens and they hated everything about this place. They had a crazy waitress and in a place like this, that is what you want to get the whole experience of the place. Well they had all the ketchup and once another table yelled for ketchup they just sat there as they watched their poor grandma struggle carrying all the bottles.
Our waiter wasn’t as crazy or loud, however he did have his own antics. He kept a mouse in his pocket and kept reminding us to leave some crumbs behind as he squeaked a squeaker in his pocket.
Once finishing breakfast we said our goodbyes to Alish and Justin, and we would be seeing them in a few short weeks because Justin wanted to meet the crazy family and wanted to see our hometown.
As they headed off to Georgia we headed off to finishing packing, checking our bag, leaving our club level room, all the sad things that mean your trip is over. But we still had a few hours left, so it was poolside for a lovely 3 hours.
During this time Amelia came running out to say goodbye before the tragical express took her. Shortly after her goodbye we headed into the lobby where we said goodbye to Miss Barb and Miss Sue. Then it was time for us to get ready for that tragical express. But before that time came I still had a few things to do, grab our last snacks up in club level and grab a sweatshirt from the gift shop, because if it says Wilderness lodge or Fort Wilderness it will become part of my closest.

The past 10 days have been great being part of the Raven/Eagle clan however this native needs to head back home to her Deer clan.
We hung out in the lobby for a little bit until we had to head outside for the bus, taking our last breathes of that wonderful WL scent.

The tragically express came around the bend at 2:40 and it was goodbye Disney.

Once on to the airport I texted my mother to let her know and her response was “I thought you weren’t coming on till Tuesday” I wish that was real life. And to make it better once we got closer to the airport I got that lovely text of how our flight was delayed and as the day went on the more delayed it was. Who doesn’t enjoy being stuck at the airport 2 hours longer than planned?! And the worst part is that it was sunday and chickfila was closed. So instead we got moes, browsed the earport and lounged at the gate until our airplane came.
The flight home was uneventful, but we made it home and the disney depression hit. But not for long because I waited a solid week before I booked my next trip for halloween! So while this trip comes to an end we had a spooktacular trip to look forward too!

I hate when your trips come to an end. thanks for sharing...hope to see your next report start soon.
