First, the lime-green color to attract the attention of any DISer looking for other DISer.
Second, as the DISer looks closer to the limegreen color, the next thing that stands out is the large word, "DIS".
Third, then the DISer can approach and see the DISer's DISboard internet name, which you always see on the boards, and then their real first name, which you usually don't know.

Last year, at DIS-CON-II, we received lime-green lanyards. Attached to the lime-green lanyards was a clear plastic sleeve that held our identification.

I think that we signed our name on the WDW admission ticket when we registered and inserted it in the clear plastic sleeve for identification.

This is just an idea, and I'm just thinking out loud.

Maybe this year we can write our "DISboard Internet Name" in large, readable letters, and our first real name below our DISboard internet Name, so that we can identify each other easier.

Maybe we could also use a large lime-green marker to sign our name, too.

Last year, I didn't recognize many people face to face. Mainly because we only knew each other on the internet and had never met face to face,

I also only saw DISers real first and last names on these cards and not their DISboard internet name. I always get embarrassed when I can't remember names...lol.

This is just a thought.

Also, if the DIS wanted to sell stuff this year... How about a really nice lime-green, wide lanyard with the DIS logo printed on them.

After all...everyone always looks for lime-green ribbons or lime-green colors when trying to identify each other at Walt Disney World.

I have been thinking of a second idea, too. I bought one of these plastic cards that attach to my lanyard at work. It's a picture of the American flag encased in a hard, clear, plastic cover.
Wouldn't it be nice if we had an identification tag with some kind of DIS logo that could easily be identified by other DISers as it hung from our lanyard at Walt Disney World?

I was also thinking of making these computer generated cards that were lime-green, and had some large identifiable letters of the logo, "DIS".

Also a way to computer generate large, bold letters with the "DISboard internet Name" of a DISer and a smaller bold lettered "first Real Name" of the DISer below that.

Then they could be laminated. A small hole made so that it could be hung from a lanyard.

I saw a small laminator at Target last week with these plastic sleeves that a card or a sheet of paper could be put in.

I can't use software. But maybe RoutemanDan and Pete could come up with some ideas.

These two things would make great sell items for the DIS if the DIS made them.

I know that the "DIS" is copyrighted and Pete must give permission to use anything that has the "DIS" word on it.

I was also thinking of something very simple to laminate to hang from any lanyard to help everyone identify another DISer at Walt Disney World.

It would have at least three basic attributes:

1. The card would either be all lime-green, or white with lime-green letters. I think the card should be all lime-green and the letters a different, darker shade of green or white.

2. Large letters with the "DISboard internet name" that we use on the DISboards. Also using the same, correct capital or small letters and spacing of the "DISboard internet name."

3. Then below the DISboard internet name our real first name.

4. And if possible, the words "DIS" and "www.wdwinfo.com" if Pete would allow this, and I sent him a pm..

I would love to make these for anyone that wanted one.

I could buy the laminater machine and the plastic sleeves and bring them with me to DIS-CON-II.

And if someone could generate an on-line program that would let me just plug in the "DISboard name" and the DISer's real first name. I could print them and cut them out and laminate them and either mail them out or bring them to DIS-CON-II.

Can anyone help me design this online progam.

Maybe it could be similar to this "Passporter" luggage tag maker at http://www.passporter.com/wdw/luggage.htm .

I'd have to check the size of the plastic laminated sleeve, but I think that the card or sheet of paper could be 2-1/2 inches by 4-inches in size.

Can anyone help me design this program that can be accesses on-line like the above progam?

I'll be glad to make one for anyone that wants one and mail it to them.

Sincerely, RaySharpton

WOW, Ray! Great ideas! Sign me up if you get the necessary approval! I'll be a solo-first-time DISCon'er so, anything to help me would be appreciated! ;)

I would be happy to help if you havent already found someone to do it for you.

It seems to be a fairly simple thing to do.

Let me know what you need.

Thank you BELLA1.

Can you make one of those computer programs where I can just plug in the DISboard internet name, and then the real name right below it,

The background color would have to be all lime-green. The letters would need to be bold letters. And I'm not sure about how to differenciate the DISboard internet name from the DISer's real first name.

Maybe difference in letter size. Maybe putting one name in (parenthesis).

And if Pete gives permission, I would like one inch bold letters of the DIS with the smallest letters showing www.wdwinfo.com and maybe www.DISboards.com .

The the very readable and bold letters of the DISer's internet name and below that the DISer's real first name.

If you could make a computer program that would allow me to go online, like the Passporter luggage tag in my first post. Then I could just type in the names and the correct size tag would print out so that the color will be lime-geen, and all the letters would be centered automatically.

Then I could just cut them out and laminate them.

Thank you in advance, RaySharpton

That is a truly SUPERIOR idea Ray! I love it! I want two or three please! :)

This is sorta of a generic name tag that someone on a webtv board made with a regular computer.

It has the lime green color to attract the attention from a distance of another DISer at WDW.

Then once a DISer sees the lime green color, as they move closer they can see the word "DIS".

Then they can see the DISboard internet name of the DISer, which we all know each other by here.

And under that the real first name.

BELLA1 and Bashful64 volunteered to help design a HTML for me just to plug in names. I really don't need an on-line program, now that I think about it. I don't have the HTML for this, so I will need that.

It would be nice to see if the HTML could be laid out as many times as possible to fit on one sheet of paper to print out.

This could be sized to fit in the plastic holder for DIS-CON-II, or to be resized to fit a laminated sheet to hang from a lanyard.

I haven't got permission to use the words "DIS" or the "URL", yet.

I put this picture on the top post, too.

I know that it looks simple, but I sorta wanted this to take the place of a ribbon, which I sorta don't like to wear. The laminated one could be adapted to use as a luggage tag, or hang on a back pack or waist pack, too.

But I like the idea of hanging it from the pin lanyard because everyone likes to come up close and see your Disney pins.

And if they are not a DISer, I could explain the limegreen color, the Disney Information Center and the easy to remember website is right there.

What do you guys think?

Very cool Ray! I like this a lot! Have you gotton approval from Pete yet? Keep us updated. :D

I like it! It was very hard to read everyones nametags last year. And trying to read it without them actually seeing you trying to was very difficult ;)

I LOVE it, Ray!!! Very good idea!!! I hope we can get them!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
