SIL tore ACL and will need a scooter. Where is best place to get one and how can we get a disability pass to use in parks? Also, are there any rides that she won’t be able to access? TIA

If you have not already checked out the FAQ (https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...disabled-1st-trip-next-trip-wish-trip.595713/), I suggest you take a look.

The answers to your questions should be there. I have not rented an EVC for my sister in years, but depending on if you rent from a preferred vendor or not you will either pick it up from Bell service or meet the vendor at your resort.

The majority of the lines at WDW are accessible by mobility devices so you will be able to take the EVC in most lines. The ones that cannot handle an EVC are discussed in the FAQ.

Your sister will have to decide what she can and cannot ride based on what attractions might be difficult for her to load into or out.

DAS (Disability Access Service) allows guests who are not able to wait in the regular lines because of disability to wait outside of the lines.
Guests whose needs are met by using a mobility device in line don’t need DAS.
Most lines/attractions are accessible, but for those few that are not, CMs will see the mobility device (ECV, wheelchair, rollator, etc.) and route you to the correct place.

We rented fromBuena Vista scooters. Great experience.

Scooter loaded onto The bus first (with us too); it fit in the room; it lasted pretty much the whole day on a charge (turning off appropriately when not moving). It was a pain at rope drop but that was about it.

There are parts of TSI you can only access in foot. Several rides make you transfer to a wheelchair for the queue and/or you need to be able to transfer to the ride vehicle from the ECV.

As @disneyinthespringtime noted, scooters *do* load first onto buses - but remember that they always unload *last* when you arrive at your destination. It's no big deal; you get used to the routine pretty quickly! :)

If you need more info, or have any other questions about using a scooter, just use the "Search..." box in the upper right corner of every page on The DISboards - it's like Google for DISboards! :) A great search term to start with would be "first time ECV"
