Wow I love this shot and how warm the lighting is. Chunksis looks amazing!
Yeah I dont' know how she got the "I stay fresh and pristine" gene and I did not. :rotfl:
That might be the ugliest drink I've ever seen.
It was both ugly and ugly tasting!
Yummmmmm oh man those look incredible!

So you got a little soggy but it looked like so much fun anyway!
Thankfully the rolls were not soggy but I was! Still a great time to be had by all!
What a great time everyone is having. Looks like a lot of people picked MLK weekend to go back. We are headed there too for the International Festival of the Arts! Can't wait to hear about Cali brunch.
Thank you! We sure had a great time!
MLK weekend is popular! It's just a little dangerous weather-wise because we can get snow and hopefully there will be no delays since it's such a short trip!

Hi everyone! We got back from our Fall Food and Wine Trip this past week. It was AMAZING
Good! Glad you had a great time. :)
it was 80 degrees out! LOL I guess it just doesn't feel like Christmas to me just yet but it was really pretty!
I get that... It's not Christmas without snow...
Then we arrived back home and it was 28 degrees!?! What the hell happened?!?
It got ready for Christmas. See?
So much so I booked a trip yesterday for a long weekend in January during MLK weekend.
Oh! Nice! :)
Here's the conclusion to our May the 4th saga....it was time for our Illuminations Cruise but it had been raining on and off all day which got us a little worried.
I'm sure it'll happen!!!

:rolleyes1
We all got drinks and just hung out under the umbrellas
Sounds fun, actually. :)
Caroline or Kelly (update: it was Caroline!) who brought up the story that her husband told her to have a good time at her "blogging convention" LOL.
At this point I also lost my sister
I'm sorry for your loss... er...
who apparently went to MK and met Tinkerbell. How does she do that?!? No one noticed she was missing until much later!
 She's Stealthymonkey!
Um.. about that Tink… um....
And got the lantern shot.
Very nice. :)
Sorry it's a lot of video but really capturing it on video was more fun then.
Watched all of them, though! Got a real good sense of how it must've been. :)
At Ale and Compass I tried this drink that had gin in it. It was gross. I don't even remember what else was in it.
It also was green but not in a good way.
Ew
Meatballs:
Parker House rolls with spreads:
Okay, those look good!
Despite the weather, and the cancelled cruise, I wouldn't change this day for the world.
I got to hang out with my DISboard friends and that's all I really wanted to do. :)

Bloggers convention :rotfl2: Perfectly titled! Those were fun to watch :thumbsup2
Hahaha, we totally were having a blogger's convention!
I see you are staying at Aulani before the Hawaii cruise :jumping3:
Yes! So excited! 3 nights there. We will also probably spend a few nights in Waikiki as well.
Good! Glad you had a great time. :)
    It was so much fun!!
I get that... It's not Christmas without snow...
Well, I could do without the snow.
It got ready for Christmas. See?
    It was just Halloween!!
    I'm sure it'll happen!!!

    :rolleyes1
    Spoiler alert!! :rotfl:
    She's Stealthymonkey!
    Chunkysteath?
    Um.. about that Tink… um....
    Yeah um, not very Tinker-like?
Watched all of them, though! Got a real good sense of how it must've been. :)
It was that and 10x more!!!

Well, I could do without the snow.
    Not me.
    Need it.
But... if it was nice and warm until Dec 1st... then snowed that day... and then it completely melted and was gone and nice and warm again by... oh... Jan 3rd... that'd be okay.
    It was just Halloween!!
Oh, sure... you want your cake (candy) and eat it too!
    Chunkysteath?
    That works. ::yes::
    Yeah um, not very Tinker-like?
    :rolleyes1
It was that and 10x more!!!

Bloggers Convention :) LOL I forgot all about that!! When my husband dropped me off at the airport, he told me to have fun with my internet friends :rotfl2:

    And boy did we!!! :drinking1

It was SUCH a bummer about our cruise being cancelled because I'm sure the EPICness would have been incredible, but this really was such a fun, relaxing night just hanging out together!

So ultimately our Illuminations Cruise was cancelled, boo,
What a bummer! But you all didn't lack for fun that night. ;)

No one noticed she was missing until much later!
:rotfl2:Whoops! Her lantern photo is so beautiful... so her getaway was fruitful

At Ale and Compass I tried this drink that had gin in it. It was gross. I don't even remember what else was in it.
It also was green but not in a good way.
Goodness, it looks like charcoal! :scared::laughing:

The libations and food didn't hurt either!!
    They never do!

Despite the weather, and the cancelled cruise, I wouldn't change this day for the world.
I got to hang out with my DISboard friends and that's all I really wanted to do. :)
And all at the bloggers convention! What more could you really ask for anyway?!

saw all the holiday decorations even though it was 80 degrees out! LOL I guess it just doesn't feel like Christmas to me just yet but it was really pretty!
Same. Very pretty, but doesn't feel all that Christmas-y when it feels like summer!

I forgot who it was, it may have been Caroline or Kelly (update: it was Caroline!) who brought up the story that her husband told her to have a good time at her "blogging convention" LOL. So that was the running joke all night, that we'd have a good productive blogger convention!
    This is hilarious!

    Parker House rolls with spreads:

    Yum! These look good!

I got to hang out with my DISboard friends and that's all I really wanted to do. :)

I'd totally forgotten you'd taken so much video of the bloggers convention. I'm sure the cruise would have been great, but even with all the rain you're right it really was all about spending time together. Pretty sure this was the night we ended up back at Territory Lounge and "met" the infamous Terry. He must have known we were famous bloggers :P

What a fun night. Looks like y’all made the best of it.
I was in Orlando the same time you were an couldn’t believe how cool it got. My husband had a tennis match on Sunday morning ( Nov 17th ) and it was 48 degrees. He had to buy a hat , pants and sweatshirt . On wed at universal , we wore a sweatshirt the whole day. It was crazy weather that week.

You're so demanding with the weather!
But yes that sounds like the perfect winter weather!
Oh, sure... you want your cake (candy) and eat it too!
    Well, yeah!!
Bloggers Convention :) LOL I forgot all about that!! When my husband dropped me off at the airport, he told me to have fun with my internet friends :rotfl2:

LOL yes! The blogging convention was a huge success! ;)
It was SUCH a bummer about our cruise being cancelled because I'm sure the EPICness would have been incredible, but this really was such a fun, relaxing night just hanging out together!
Totally! It would have been fun to do the cruise but I guess our trip couldn't have gone EXACTLY to plan, right? LOL
I think we did the next best thing which was to continue the festivites together!
What a bummer! But you all didn't lack for fun that night.
    Exactly!!
:rotfl2:Whoops! Her lantern photo is so beautiful... so her getaway was fruitful
Haha, dont' even know how she managed to go off to MK on her own without us noticing!
Goodness, it looks like charcoal! :scared::laughing:
OMG I don't know what awful water it was but it was nasty.
And all at the bloggers convention! What more could you really ask for anyway?!
    It was the perfect convention!!
Same. Very pretty, but doesn't feel all that Christmas-y when it feels like summer!
Yup! I always wonder how people who live in the other hemispheres deal with the hot summery Christmas and the...cold summers?!? I'd be so confused!
    Yum! These look good!
    They were really good!
Okay your F&G foods all look SO good! I hope they bring a lot of those back next year because they look amazing! And now I'm hungry haha
I'm sure they will be bringing back all the popular stuff! Everything was (mostly) delicious!
Blogging convention is a perfect way to describe it! haha glad you all made the best of not being able to do the illuminations cruise!
Haha we are so creative :)

Oh right that was the Terry-fying night! LOL
I thought we had a great time just chilling and making the most of the bad weather situation! The drinks didn't hurt either!
What a fun night. Looks like y’all made the best of it.

I heard it got super cold after we left! Which was so bizarre as the week before we got there people were complaining of the 90 degree weather!
Weather is so unpredictable down there! But I'm so grateful that our days there were lovely and know that it's definitely not always like that!
Because it was the closest bar we could find...? ;)

That night was such a blast! Loved every minute maybe even more than the cruise might have been.
Haha you are absolutely correct!! Closest bar to get out of the rain and to have our productive blogger meet up! 😉
And also yes, to making the most out of a cancelled cruise to have the best of times with aoo our Epic friends! :)

    ;)

I'm glad you all had a good time even though the cruise was cancelled.

It's so freaking delicious. When will you be there? We're going Jan 18-22. I literally booked it 2 days ago and already our FP window opened up yesterday, LOL.
I'm also hoping to do the moonlight magic for DVC. I hope it's easy to get in.
I'm there Feb 3-13 so we will miss you.

We registered for Moonlight Magic, but we also have O'hana that night. Trying to move O'hana cause I really want to do dinner there, but also love the idea o Moonlight Magic, just don't want to do them the same night!

The end of this EPIC TR is in sight!! Can't believe we are on our last offical EPIC day of the trip. But maybe that means I can start on some other much delayed TRs...and complete my other Feb TR!

Day 9 Part 1: The Epic Brunch

Today was our California Grill brunch! What a way to end our epic trip! It is very expensive though, so good thing many of us had the TIW card which could offset the $80+ pricetag. But really, how could you put a price on this view?

And of course the great company? 😉

We met up in the lobby of the Contemporary. I'm pretty sure we took an Uber over from the Swan.
Billie (@Elevationist) took this sneaky picture of us just lounging around. Pic stolen from @Lesley Wake buahaha.

We got to meet @jedijill too! I've seen her on so many other of my DISBoard friends' TRs that it was about time that we met!

Soon we headed upstairs. We had booked I think 3 tables for this on 3 separate ADRs and they were able to seat us all together on two very large tables. Yay!

    Champagne? Why yes please!

They had the little popping boba pearls in them. I normally don't care for them but they are pretty fun in champagne, I admit.
If you don't drink, they had water with the bopa pearls (this was Karilynn's)

We had to admire the view from the inside because the gross lovebugs were all over the outdoor areas so they didn't want people opening and closing doors to the patio, which was a relief!

    Here's our menu:

We definitely made short work of the buffet. I really enjoyed all the offerings!

Here's a video of us at brunch:

At the end of the video @Jenny Sanders wanted to get a picture and here is our picture!

Liesa (@Steppesister) mentioned that she wanted to invite Jen (@Chrystmasangel) to brunch as a treat for her graduation. I thought that was a great idea and was kicking myself that I didn't think about it sooner so she could have just come with us to brunch from the beginning. We had the extra seats although she had initially opted out due to cost, but she was in MK anyways, and so Liesa called her so she made the trek over to Contemporary. Liesa, myself and Lesley split Jen's brunch as a gift to her. She looked both delighted and exhausted from her walk!

After placing our entree orders and multiple trips to the buffet, we took the oppurtunity to take as many pictures as possible as it was one of the last times we'd all be together in this big of a group!

After our mini photoshoot, we got our entrees.

I opted for something a little different as I would usually get the shrimp n grits or the steak n eggs.

I got the shakshuka with meatless meatballs. It was surprising, I thought it was pretty good and an unsual choice for me but I was kinda just full from all the sushi and apps I ate so I think I could have ordered anything and would not be able to finish it anyways. The sauce was a little too chunky for me (ha!), I thought it should have been slightly smoother and the egg could have been runnier.

@Steppesister shared her pancakes with me too, I thought she ordered one for the both of us to share as an extra entree but it was really just her entree, but either way we couldn't finish it! We were both not huge fans of the lemon curd on the pancake. I think it would have been so much better without it.

It's a really pretty plate to look at!

Steve got the Steak n Eggs. It was pretty standard and he liked it but I'm not a fan of hanger steak.

    More pics ensued...

If you hadn't noticed, Lesley and Renee were wearing the same Dress Shoppe dress!

I was wearing a different dress shoppe dress but of course had to jump in wearing my own Small World dress. And so did Renee's DH, Chad (minus a dress though.)

And here is Jen, creator of the most amazing ears, quilt, potholders, magnets, etc.

    Look at photobombing Steve!

Speaking of Steve's, we got both Steve's together for a No Steve's Allowed picture!

And here's me and Jill. We found out we are actually on the same Hawaii cruise next May! I'm so excited to actually know more people on the cruise!

Our desserts arrived, not like we could eat any more but...

I'd like to point out that @kastoney really likes these chocolates below. She's always pointing and talking about them. We saved them all for her.

    😆😆😆

Here is Kari looking very excited at the prospect of those...chocolates:

And one last group pic before we all left:

It was a memorable brunch filled with laughter and food over views of the happiest place on earth!

Everyone started to change out of their brunch finest into their park clothes, even I brought a change of clothes because we were headed to MK after!

We took the monorail to MK but like literally after we got there, the skies turned dark as you can see behind me in my clever "castle within my ears" shot:

I don't even remember doing any rides, we may have done one but we decided to get the heck out of the park as soon as it looked like it was going to pour. We made it to the buses just as it did.

I did however, get a little wet. What's me and becoming a drowned rat on this trip 2 days in a row?!?
Although not entirely as dismal as the previous days outing!

That evening we had the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. Let's hope it dries out before then!!

Coming up...the last supper, and the last Chunky bus of the trip! 😭

    No kidding! Perfect!
But really, how could you put a price on this view?
    I'd say... about $80.
We had booked I think 3 tables for this on 3 separate ADRs and they were able to seat us all together on two very large tables. Yay!
That was very fortunate. And wonderful. :)

    ::yes::

They were so bad last May!

    Nice of you guys. :)
There is something wrong with this photo... maybe it's just me being a grumpy old man...
The sauce was a little too chunky for me (ha!),

We were both not huge fans of the lemon curd on the pancake.
Too bad. That sounds like it'd be really good.
If you hadn't noticed, Lesley and Renee were wearing the same Dress Shoppe dress!
    I hadn't! What a great photo! :)

Nice. :) gotta have them... it's the title of the epic trip, after all!
Our desserts arrived, not like we could eat any more but...
But I'm sure you made room. It's dessert!!
me in my clever "castle within my ears" shot:
    I like that!
What's me and becoming a drowned rat on this trip 2 days in a row?!?
