I'm just catching up on this TR. You were there just ahead of me (I remember following on Insta!) and the Lovebugs were SWARMING when I got there! Also, this GIF is the cutest ever. How did you make it?

Thanks for following along! The lovebugs were insane! It ultimately didn't disrupt the trip too much but lemme tell you, the first day of our cruise was the WORST, we couldn't open our balcony doors and we had to stand OUTSIDE for the muster drill and it was the grossest thing.
I made the gif using EZgif.com - it's free just upload some pictures of video and resize etc. I had to play around with it for a while to get it into an easy to post format!

Day 6 Part 2: Storybook Dining

After our Epic VIP Tour and bonus meet n greet with Celebration Mickey n Minnie, we all split up - CS, myself and Kari headed to Storybook Dining at Artist Point while Steve going to head back to the Swan for some R&R. Kelly continued at MK with some solo time which you can read about in her TR.

I took this pic as we left Mickey and Minnie at Town Hall. They are so cute!

We headed out of the park since we wanted to change our shirts and look more princess-y for our dinner, but as soon as we crossed the exit, I got a text from Steve that some rare character was out. He said it was King John at first, but his name is actually Prince John from Robin Hood. I had never seen this character in person before, and it seems like Kari and CS had not as well as they made an immediate 180 turn and doubled back through the turnstiles into MK before I could say "Shall we head back?" #characterlovers

Prince John did not have a photopass photographer, nor did he willingly stop for pictures, it was more of a...stalk him until he stops, jump in and try to get a picture! So it was rather hard to pin him down as he kept roaming about and many people tried to jump in at the same time! So I told Kari and CS to just follow him and I'd just try to get some pics of them together. I managed a few!

Someone seemed to feel sorry for me that I was wandering around like papparazzi so they offered to take a picture for all 3 of us, yay!

After our character-driven detour, we managed to exit the park and hop on the next boat to the WL and make it there right on time. It was actually my first time taking the boat there, and it was a nice relaxing ride.

We arrived, checked in and headed straight to the bathrooms to change and freshen up. I realize then that I didn't have my red hair bow as I gave Steve some stuff to take back to the room and my bow was in there along with my ears (that I never ended up wearing for most of the tour because it was hot and also started to rain at points). Oh, another perk of the VIP tour that I forgot to mention is that they offer you Disney ponchos if needed so you're not walking around in the rain.

I got a text that our table was ready and were were shown to our table at the back of the restaurant near the windows. Su-Queen did a couple of test photos to see where the best angle and lighting for pictures was. Kari was thoroughly amused but saw the value in doing that.

Here's the menu for tonight, some of the items were different than what we had in March of this year. Most notably, the soup is now the mushroom soup that made AP famous (or close to it I bet!). Also the hunter's terrine replaced the the little chicken pies they had.

To drink my sister got this non-alcoholic thing. I think this is the transformation potion.

And even though I said I wouldn't order it again as I think the portion is quite small, I got the Enchanted Apple again. It's just so yummy, but I don't understand why they can't just fill it up a bit more. I don't need that much of a sugar rim!

For appetizers there is a trio that is shared by the table.

Here's the mushroom soup served in little cauldrons which is just the cutest thing ever! The sou[ was really good, sufficiently creamy and mushroom-y. I like the little tempura fried mushroom dipper too!

Here is the hunter's terrine, which was like a pate/sausage blend. It was not our favorite.

This little glass jar contained 3 large shrimp which had an asian dressing served with microgreens. It was quite tasty!

Our first visitor was Snow White.

Yes everyone remembered their red bows except for me.

Our entrees came soon after. I got the "A Stroll Through Nature" which is a veggie gnocchi.

The sauce it is in is delicious. But the thing with gnocchi is that it's very one note and quite heavy, and also this gnocchi was not as smooth and pillow-y as I like it. It was probably a tad too dense and grainy so I could not finish all of it. I wish they could have used a different pasta though as that sauce was delicious.

Both my sister and Kari got Bashful's Butter-Poached Kingslip. My sister was amazed that she ate greens and liked them. She's usually not one for anything green. I tried a bit and was pretty impressed that it tasted good and healthy despite the butter-poached fish.

I got a little surprise!

I had no idea Grumpy was right behind me. Maybe we were too into our entrees! I blame it on my sister who's supposed to be the Character Watch.

Soon our final table-side visitor came by. The lovable Dopey!

Dessert here is a real treat. I love the theme!

On the top you have the Miner's Treasure which is basically a cake in a cup with icing, on the bottom right you have the Gooseberry pies, and on the left you have the Poison Apple.

Here's another angle of the desserts:

I adore the gooseberry pies, they have a nice tartness to them and aren't just a load of sugary pie filling. It's topped with a meringue type foam.
I also really like the Poison apple as they taste like little cheesecake bites. The Miner's treasure is a lot of sweet so I ate the cake part and left the icing but I'm pretty sure Kari and CS ate it all

And the final sweet treat, the Hunter's Gift to the Queen, which is chocolate hearts, caramel popcorn served with a dry ice flair. So cool!

Our final character was the Evil Queen - so we paid our checks and then went up to meet her.
She did not approve of our attire.

The Queen was hilarious as usual!

We had a great time at dinner, even pausing to stop by to say hi @Jenny Sanders and Joe's table since they had started eating as we were leaving.

We were all pretty beat after that day's festivities so we decided to uber it back to our resorts. Kari got a *surprise* visit from her boyfriend who was arriving that night, and although she was supposed to be rooming with Liesa, and Jenn, at the GF (also another surprise for Kari!) she was now at the Dolphin for a few nights (her bf could only come in for the weekend and not the whole trip) and since we were at the Swan we all shared a ride together. Awesome pixie dust for Kari today!! So happy for her!

When we got back to our respective resorts, I went to the hot tub for a bit just to relax my legs. It was nice. Then I think it might have started raining not too long after I got there, and I left, so much for that, LOL.

Tomorrow there is more EPIC-ness in store! Dismeets during the day, and a large family meal at 'Ohana (which means Chunky!)

I'm coming around to the thought of eating at Artist Point again... I think their bringing back the mushroom bisque may have something to do with it! The desserts also look ridiculously good and you know I love dessert!

Your meal looked quite tasty and the character interactions looked great. I think Snow White herself may be the least interesting character there - give me one of the dwarves or the Wicked Queen anytime! The Wicked Queen you had looks especially icy - what a great job!

Now it's very doable at rope drop as well as during the lulls in the afternoon - waits can be had at less than 30 mins. And also during Illuminations it drops to like 15 mins. But yes for the most part during a crowded time it's less and less.

It was a pretty crazy tour day! But it was a lot of fun! I can't believe we pulled it off and honestly the guides were complete pros and our large group did not phase them a bit.

I'd rather read a bunch of TRs than read all the Disney blogs, listen to podcasts, or see all the Disney-fluencers on Instagram. I like to hear real-life stories of families on vacation, how they planned, how their trip went, what magical times they had, or what sucked, it's all great and so honest! I love being able to read other comments, share my own thoughts, and form a little Disboard family.

He was just...roaming! He stopped periodically but moved around a lot, everyone was trying to get a picture with him and there was no line so it's jump in, jump out.

It is definitely not your typical character meal. I think they have definitely stepped up their game.
