Just checked Internet Explorer and received this message:
There is a problem with this website’s security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.

I got a similar message just now from Safari, and had to change security setting on my apple to access. It said the certificate expired yesterday.

Having same issue on Chrome. Disboards' security certificate expired yesterday. Unsettling.

1. Yes this should absolutely get fixed.

2. But for those worried about security, you should generally still be safe to login and use the site. A recently expired certificate is still better than no certificate at all and can generally be trusted. (There is a bit of good information in this article talking about some of the ones likely to expire due to shutdown - https://techcrunch.com/2019/01/17/federal-https-domains-expire-government-shutdown/). This is of course entirely unrelated to the gov't shutdown, but the context could be useful for those curious but not familiar with how security certificates work.
