Nothing. We don't exchange gifts.
But as an old friend would constantly remind me I have ADULTS, not KIDS.
Judge if you want but Christmas is about more than gifts. And FYI it was my oldest daughter who suggested it.I can’t imagine not giving my child a Christmas gift.
What do you do Christmas morning?
Thank you for respecting your daughter’s wishes regarding the gifts. Older generations who refuse to stop exchanging gifts can put quite a burden on the younger family members who want to opt out of the stress and expense that comes with gift buying.Judge if you want but Christmas is about more than gifts. My "children" are 26 & 28.
That is so cool, I remember you mentioning it last year. What's the 2019 theme?Dinosaurs. My kid is two and he is deep into his love of all things dino, so 75% of his gifts are related to that in some way. He’s finally started to show an interest in books so he’ll be getting about a dozen and a half more books. There are a few educational toys like puzzles and robots and things relating to counting and the alphabet, and since his new brother will be arriving in a few months he’s getting a baby doll and doll accessories so he can start practicing. A couple of gifts relate to the cultural theme we’re doing this year and there’s a handful of advent calendar and stocking stuffer trinkets thrown in, but it’s mostly dinosaurs. Rawr.
