5-9 for Xmas through New Years. Depending how many are needed to give us that week Off, we sometimes have a random Day in March or three at thanksgiving.

One of the few perks working for a state college.

I work on the school calendar as well. I don't get floating days or paid sick days, but I get a lot of holidays:

New Year's Day
MLK Day
a week at President's Day
Good Friday
a week at Patriot's Day (a MA state holiday in April)
Memorial Day
summer vacation (so 4th of July and Labor Day are part of that)
Columbus Day
Veterans' Day
Thanksgiving (2.5 days)
a week + at Christmas

In Ireland we have the following bank holidays / public days off

New Years Day
St Patricks Day
Easter Monday
May Bank Holiday
June Bank Holiday
August Bank Holiday
October Bank Holiday
Christmas Day
26 December / St Stephens Day

In addition, it is the law that we get 24 days of paid holiday time per calendar year. It depends on the company or industry when these holiday days can be used. Most people take a long holiday in the summer, a couple of short holidays and then keep a few days for floating days

4th of July (usually 2 days )
Labor Day
Thanksgiving and the day after
Christmas (and either Christmas Eve or the day after depending on how the calendar falls)

I work in a school too & they tell us we technically don’t get paid for days off either. But, I make about the same annually as I did in another non-school agency where I worked & had less days off that were
supposedly paid holidays so to me they feel like paid holidays.

Good Friday & Spring break-6 Days
