Taken on 31 Jan 2018 for the Blue-Super-Blood Moon event.
Moon Rise was about 8.30 pm, right along with twilight. Over in the east, we got some pinks and purples to go with the moon rise.
The Super Moon.
It was a Blue Moon because this was the second full moon in the month of January.
The eclipse started around 10.40 pm in Melbourne.
Totality was around 12.30 am.
I always love this phase of the eclipse where you get red, blue-ish and white-out colours on camera.
I stayed up until 2 am to experience the full eclipse event.
Here's the composite of the 3 - 4 hour sequence.
I think Melbourne will experience another full moon eclipse in 2019. Here's hoping for clear skies!
