What shall I do with my Mum?

or mums, that is. I have 6 still in my beds from the fall. It never froze here; they never died. I think they will die if I don't uproot them and take them out of the South Texas heat....

any ideas?
 
You might try cutting them back to get fresh sprouts for this year.
 
thats what i was gonna say...cut them back...
 
If the mum's are planted in good soil and watered regularly you should not have a problem.

I do not know what the rules for mum are in Texas, but here in the Northeast a weekly pinching back until July 15 will produce bushy strong stemmed mums that flower in the fall.
 


perhaps I should have qualified that with--there are no blooms on the mums. Should I cut back all the foliage to the ground, or should I just leave the small green bush?
 
I'd recommend cutting the foliage back to about 3 or 4 inches. With water, you should see new growth fairly quickly.
