When I moved to this area 5 1/2 years ago, I knew I wanted a female PCP and I wanted to be in the family practice that is part of the local hospital. I got a great DO. After about 2 years, she left and I was placed with another great DO. The second doctor only worked part time (she also worked at a medical school) and that made it difficult for me because I need to schedule visits around taking care of my grandkids, but she was great. Then she went to the medical school full time. I now see an ANP (adult nurse practitioner). She listens to me and manages to give me the time I need. And she has availability so it's easy to schedule a visit. She has been in this practice for quite a while and I don't see her going anywhere else.
