Ok,
I know it's a confusing question ... :rotfl2:
But DH has a job training in vegas and he's decided to take me along... (I know... isn't he sweet? :lovestruc )
Unfortunately he'll be stuck in his training for about 12hrs a day and I'll be left on my own for some days.

So I was wondering what are the best things to do solo when you're in vegas?
and things to see and do with DH when he's out of training?

I know nothing about vegas, so I need help!!!!

Ooh... and I love to eat but I can't spend a lot because this is an unscheduled vacation.
Any good places with decent prices that you guys could point out to me?

Thank you so much!!!

Where are you staying? Will you have a vehicle?

If I was going to Vegas and was alone I would spend a day at least shopping, spend some time at the pool, and visit the hotels.

Walk thru The Forum Shoppes, Fashion Show Mall or the Miracle Mile...all on the strip or take a trip to the outlets.

I personally love seeing the hotels, wander around the Venetian/Palazzo, Caesars, Bellagio, Wynn.

The Lion Habitat @ MGM, the roller coaster @ NYNY, Luxor has some neat things, etc...

As for eating try the Rainforest Cafe @ MGM, The Grand Lux Cafe @ the Venetian, Cheesecake factory @ Caesars.

You can always gamble too :D

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks sunshinemummy!
We'll be staying at the HGVC las vegas.
It's off the strip but it should be near a monorail station by the Hilton LV.
No vehicles.

Ooohh... outlets... I have to check that out. Thank you.

Is it safe to walk around the strip alone?
Should I worry?

You are at the far end of the north strip, so you may want to look at the deuce (the bus that runs up and down the strip, ride unlimited for 24 hrs for only $5). I honestly would have no problem walking up and down the strip nite or day but I've never stayed that far north(which is not the best area), and always on the strip. You are not far from the Premium Outlets, cheap cab ride and worth the trip.

Check out Freemont Street one night too if you have the chance.

You should be just fine walking around alone. Remember all the casinos and hotels have security and cameras everywhere!

Make sure you do all the free stuff... watch Bellagio fountains and the Conservatory inside, lions at MGM, etc.

Here's the official website www.visitlasvegas.com for tons of info...

You may want to check for super discounted show tickets.
Shopping at Fashion Show Mall, Forum shops at Caesar's Palace, Grand Canal Shops at Venetian, plus outlets malls in the area.

Dining has gotten much more expensive. Most hotels have food courts and buffets. We had a good meal at La Salsa's which has locations few places in Vegas. For dinner even the hotel cafe's are nice.

Thanks Sunshine and Debbie!
I am excited to go now :)

I was there 2 weeks ago, and already look at flights to go back in the fall :)
I have been to Vegas 3 times in the last year and each time we find new things to do and see. I love it and you will too :D

If I was alone, I would hang out at the pool, do a little shopping at the Forum Shops, and ride the roller coaster at NYNY. That's probably about it.

Here's what I would do.....

Get on the monorail and ride it down to South Strip, walk over to "mandalay Shops" between the Luxor and the Mandalay Bay.

Go to the "Chocolate Swan". Have a pastry, or layer bar, or rich chocolate and not tell my husband a thing about it!

And I would do this every day that I could get away with it until my husband noticed the chocolate stains on my blouse.

We stayed at that same Hilton for a business trip and it had a really relaxing pool. I enjoyed reading by the pool.

It's a fair walk up to the main part of the strip for shopping or hotel sightseeing, but a bus runs fairly often along there.

I passed some relaxing days eating, shopping and laying by the pool!
