Hi. we are flying into/from Las vegas. But Las Vegas is not our destination. We will fly into Vegas. Stay the night, and drive to Anaheim in the early morning. (same thing on way home).

So we dont need a fancy hotel or anything. Just a place to sleep for the night.
We will have our kids with us.

What is a clean, safe hotel you suggest just for one night?

I wouldn't necessarily worry about my safety at any of the major casino hotels. Now the amount of smoke that permeates through the buildings is another matter.

If you're looking to avoid most of that, then there are inexpensive motels/hotels/timeshare hotels south of the strip. One place that was brought up was Tahiti Village, where all rooms can accommodate four. It's really a timeshare, but they operate unsold units and/or units on behalf of owners as if they were hotel rooms. The only caveat is the possibility of being pushed to attend a timeshare presentation. It's closer to the airport and there are places to eat within walking distance.

Depending on what your budget for the night is you have a lot of choices. We've had great luck with the Palazzo and have been able to book a room for as low as $99, we usually end up paying $149. The rooms are huge, we had a double queen room with a pull out couch on our last stay. It is by far my kids favorite place to stay in Vegas!

Most major hotels in LV are decent enough that i wouldn't worry about safety. If you just need someplace to sleep and are leaving early you might consider staying on the South end of town so you're that much closer to Anaheim. You might even want to stay at a hotel near the state border in Primm. Last I checked the Primm hotels do not charge resort fees, unlike most Vegas casinos.

Depending on your dates Whiskey Pete's has rooms as low as $33/night.

I second Primm. :thumbsup2 We stayed at Buffalo Bill's during our one and only trip to Vegas with our DS and it's actually a pretty good little destination in itself if you've got 1/2 a day on your layover. There's a really cool roller coaster that goes through the building, several different amusements in a carnival/arcade type setting, a movie theatre and monorail service over to some excellent outlet shopping. Definitely check it out.

OP checkout some of the major hotel companies websites . Maybe a off strip Hampton Inn / Embassy Suite (Hilton) or Courtyard / Fairfield Inn (Marriott) might meet your needs.
If you want to do the strip stay with the major companies and you will be fine. As for smoke just book a non-smoking room, you will only then deal with it walking thru to the elevator.
