As some of you have probably read before that we are planning a trip for next year 2020.. We are looking at November 2020... we want to see the Christmas Decorations, and the parks decorated for the holidays if possible....

The Christmas event starts Nov 8 this year and will likely be similar next year. They should have the official calendar for next year out by December.

Reportedly the decorations start going up in full force on Nov 1. The official start is 1-week after Halloween but the merchandise and food starts a couple days before that. There also are soft openings of the parades/shows for media before the official start.

The media day last year was the 7th; one day before the event started. The first showing of It's Christmas Time was film crew only for the main stage. Going back through some random vlogs on youtube, it looked like last year, the stuff started going up on the 4th but wouldn't be fully decorated until at least the 6th.

But some of the winter illuminations in other places in Tokyo probably won't start till the middle of November.

Thanks for the info... jotting it down in the book...

We are looking at going somewhere from mid to the end of November... so that should cover us, we even thought about over Thanksgiving... not sure if the crowds will be bad during this time of year.... and if the cost will be alot more like here at WDW with the holiday price hike...

Thanksgiving should be fine for international destinations.

If you want to experience Toontown or take photos, avoid November 18th (Mickey's birthday) and possibly the couple days around his birthday. Ride waits should be OK but some areas will be crowded and spots for shows/parades may fill up earlier than normal. Loads of Japanese people fly to Hong Kong during that time to say Happy Birthday to Mickey without spending 11 hours in line.
