Temperature this morning in mid-60's with heavy rain showers; tonight...freezing with wind chill in the 20's. :faint:

:cheer2: After 10 days in "the boot" because of ankle problems, Redstorm finally got to go in for the 2nd half of the first soccer game of a tournament this morning. She FINALLY scored her first goal of the season to tie the game which they went on to win in PK's. :cheer2: She's excited to be back but tired; taking a nap now between games. :dance3: Now...if we can just get the other THREE starters off the bench we can get on with the season! :tink:

Didn't we already know it was from Africa? Not a shop, attraction or food service? Not a musical instrument? Not art? It serves a purpose? Christmas decoration?

I don't think it was established that it's in Africa...but it is :goodvibes. The location is not relevant however...it's a Christmas decoration and could be anywhere in the park. :goodvibes :tink:

Our temperature has dropped from a VERY pleasant 70 degrees to 50 (and falling) with 20 mph winds! :faint: Had a hard time getting my car up to the 70 mph speed limit earlier going north! :rotfl: Good night to sit by the fire and work on more crops. Here's one of the last ones I have ready to go...

    Park, resort or other?

It has been snowing here all day. But I was prepared and had a very nice snow day by the wood stove. The electric and internet are working!! :yay: So I'm a happy camper.

Our winds were so high, part of the city LOST POWER when lines were snapped! We were lucky...ours has been fine. An inch of rain this morning, bright sunshine with a 70 degree high and then, what we call, a "blue norther" around 3:30. Soup and a warm fire this evening...:cloud9:.

YES...winds were REALLY strong. Had to take the Princess to her house after school for volleyball equipment and could feel the winds pushing the car as we headed north! There are tiny limbs/branches laying ALL OVER our yard this morning! Not as strong as last night but still glad I didn't go to soccer game. It's a beautiful morning but low 40's and slight breeze and cold symptoms making me feel yucky. They didn't "need me there" to bring them good luck anyway...won 10-0! :faint:

Yes...this is on a wall in HS but it's not painted. :goodvibes :tink:

Nice to have a victory but it came with "a price". Redstorm gets back on the field leaving only 4 other starters on the bench and then today one of the OTHER regular starters breaks her wrist. :headache: So now they're back to FIVE upperclassmen/starters on the bench. :headache: Just received a message from her mother and poor girl is in a lot of pain...but hoping to be back in the game in 4 weeks.

This will be from an attraction. :tink:

It was 50 degrees and rainy here today.:beach: But it created really thick fog because of all the snow and ice on the ground. It was so hard to see driving. :scared: Tomorrow temps are supposed to drop to 20 and the rain is supposed to turn to ice.

I thought "heat wave" when your weather forecast popped up on my "go to" weather site. :rotfl: I can only imagine the fog problem; same thing here last week when it was so cold. DD had to drive to College Station one morning and said she had to slow down to 40-50 mph in some spots. Tomorrow sucks with ice in the forecast! :headache: Believe it or not WE have ice predicted next Tuesday :headache:... the NEXT SCHEDULED SOCCER GAME DAY! Plus...DH and I have doctors appointments in Brenham that day so we'll be traveling north during mid-day and back south for the 7 PM :scared: soccer game. Dang it! Since I missed the tournament games this week I was looking forward to watching Redstorm play...NOT sitting in the "freezer" again for 2 hours with possible ICE on the drive home! Hope you don't have much travel to do tomorrow...icy roads are SO dangerous! :scared1:

Read a Houston Chronicle article earlier on the severe flu season here. The largest Houston area clinic association has recorded 5 times more flu cases this year than the same time last year! One lady had to go to 3 different hospitals before she found one that could exam and admit her the same day! Sure hoping we all can avoid it  but with teachers AND students out in the schools it's gonna be hard. DD's pre-school has a staff of 8 teachers and 3 are out due to the flu. :faint: :tink:
