Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

You guys aren't gonna believe what I bought!!!! Are you ready for this?

Nada. Zip, zilch, nothing. Bought a shirt at the University bookstore and that was it for 10 days. Can you believe it?????? I was so proud of myself. I just didn't see anything I had to have. Strange, and unlike me, I know.:lmao:

Okay time to clean up this place. I left it so clean and the kids came home and ruined it all in one day.

Nothing?!?! I don't know whether to be worried or proud! :lmao:

Good Morning everyone!!

I just posted my GF review-- it's a little bit long.:rotfl2:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2798894

Shawna---- My DH loved Tony's too! It was one of his favorites!!:rotfl2: The crossbody bags---- I took both my Coach one and my VB one. The first day I used the VB one b/c I started out trying to get everything I wanted into the Coach and it wouldn't zip. After that, I used the coach. Both are small and can be frustrating if you have a lot to put in them. I used my VB change purse for my KTTW and drivers license. Then I put my phone and sometimes the camera in it, a burts bees chapstick, the car keys and it was stuffed. I would sometimes get my big honkin sunglasses in there but more often than not I'd hold them in my hand on rides.
I was not 100% sold on the Coach one.:headache:

Rinky--- I didn't divulge any long held secret as far as my Dining.:rotfl2: I never do a dining report so it was ok.:thumbsup2

Shelly----- :faint: We never went to DTD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were gonna go that one night I told you but we all decided it was nicer to stay at the GF instead. sigh.

LilMermaid-- I know, right? I thought for a bit I needed to take my temperature!

Sheila--- I hope your back is better today. Sorry you are in pain. Back pain is the absolute worst. Feel better, hon!

Jo - just read your GF review and give it a big :thumbsup2

My back is better today but still hurting some especially after I just took a little trip outside with Bella, it is such a beautiful day here in Ct:)

I did cancel an appointment to go see my new Pulomonary Specialist that my other Dr. set up for me, but at 8am when I first woke up I just wasn't sure about how my back would be this afternoon.

Hope your day is going great

that's kinda what I was afraid of...my boys will all want me to carry their sunglasses at some point and I they won't all fit..I may just make them put their's on a string-thing (whatever you call it) around their necks..I just push mine up on my head...dd is bringing her little VB crossbody-it'll hold her autograph book and pen and sunglasses.... I would hate to spend all that much more on the coach and it not stretch out like the VB...but the coach ones are prettier!! LOL....
Sheila...are youbetter this afternoon? got you a flower!!:flower3:

Hi Ladies!:goodvibes Hope all is well with you all!
So, I am officially (if I wasn't already) a member of the "Did I Choose The Right Resort Phobia Club"!!!!!!:rotfl:
I have been going back and forth between the Poly and the GF for weeks. As of this morning, I was all set to stay at the Poly and was very much looking forward to it. Shelly- your pictures were great, and had me so excited. But...Jo, I blame you completely for having me change my resort! Those GF pics made me miss the resort. I showed the pics to DD10, and she immediately decided that is where we should stay. So that's settled. I cannot change resorts again!!!
Hope all is well with everyone, looking forward to the TR's!
And Shelly....I hope DH is recovering nicely!

Hello PTR friends!!

How's everybody doing? Things are going well here. Just busy busy. With school, soccer, PTO, and everything dang thing else happening as soon as we got back things are pretty crazy around here. :crazy2: DH is doing very well though, so we are thankful. He goes for his follow up check up next Friday. DS9 had his first soccer game of the season Sunday. They lost but he played great! DS12 is having a tough time adjusting to middle school, as I had suspected. Good thing we moved up our trip and we didn't have to pull him out this fall! Keep him in your thoughts & prayers if you could. I think this week is going slightly better for him than last, but he's still not loving it by any means.

I think I am done posting all the pics on the CBR and Poly reviews. I am hoping to get the TR started soon. :goodvibes

I'm glad that your hubby is recovering well. He'll for sure be on my continued prayer list.

I remember when Hunter started middle school. It was a bit of an adjustment for him and it took a little while for him to settle in. It seems that a bunch of the kids at middle school have a bit of...what's the word I am looking for?....an attitude. I think it's because they aren't quite sure if they are supposed to still act like kids or act like young adults or act like jerks.

I've read both of your reviews and am looking forward to the full-on trip report.

Happy to hear that DH is doing so well after his surgery. It sure sounds like life is in full swing there for you and your family. Too bad DS9 team lost their first game but as long as he played good that is all that counts.

Sorry to hear DS12 is having a rough time adjusting to middle school. My oldest DS had a time of it, there was a boy(a year older) who lived down the street from us who always picked on my son. I will never forget the first day they got off the bus Kevin a freind of my DS was in tears. At least now schools are no longer tolerateing bullies.

My youngest DS had no problems go figure. I will say a prayer your DS overcomes whatever obsticals are in his path in middle school.

Shelly- so glad to hear that DH is doing well. That must be such a relief.
So sorry to hear about DS12 and his adjustment to middle school. I know that my older daughters had a very tough time adjusting to middle school (my oldest daughter in particular.) I'm sure that with a little bit of time, he will do just fine. I will be thinking of him!:goodvibes

Hey Shelly! I've gotten behind on all your threads. It's been a hectic week.

Sorry to hear that your DS is struggling with middle school. That's such a tough transition. I'll be sure to remember him in my prayers.

I'm so glad to hear that your DH is doing well. That's actually why I came and checking in here tonight, because I was wondering how he was doing. Hopefully he'll be back in the swing of things before too long. Was he able to make it to the soccer game this time?

Hey Teri!! Geaux Tigers! Whip them mutts!

Ps hello to everyone else! Hope you are all well!

Hey Jodi! Thanks! The coaches apparently aren't listening to me. :headache: My DH is telling me not to worry, but it's hard not to! I expected a little better than 6 points atthe half. :sad2:

Keep pulling for us! All the way to the SEC championship! ;)

Whoa, Shelly, you are busy! I thought you hadn't been around much lately. Kids can keep you running, can't they? :faint: So glad to hear that your DH is improving each day!

I know it's hard when one of your kids is struggling through any adjustment, but he will get through it and be fine. It will just take a little time. He's smart, out-going, and friendly so everything will work out in time. But I know how you just want to wave your magic Mom-wand and make it all better right now!

Shelly,we will be praying for your little guy! I think middle school is the hardest adjustment of all--they are usually so intimidated at that age...I know he will be fine in a week or so--they all have to find their place!

Thanks everyone! :grouphug:

Yes, DH is doing quite well I think. I bet the doctor will release him to go back to work sooner than planned. He originally said 6 weeks, but I'm thinking more like 3. But we'll see. He will definitely be able to make DS's soccer game this Sunday. He did have to sit out coaching his team this season though.

As for DS12, I think each day he is gaining a little more confidence. It's just a lot of things -- MS can be very intimidating, the teachers aren't as nurturing, the homework is awful, and just trying to stay organized & live out of a locker and get to class on time is a huge challenge for him. I hope he adjusts soon. It's just so hard when your child isn't happy.

I'm hoping to get my TR up and running next week. You'll be the first ones to know! :goodvibes

Shelly, is the middle school a completely different location from where he was or a different building on the same campus? Do the boys still ride the same bus? It's probably hard going from being one of the "big kids" in elementary school to being one of the "little kids" at MS. The homework....:headache: I remember those days too well. I can just picture my kids (especially DD since she's small) with those 50 lb. backbacks weighing them down. It was ridiculous! Some schools - not theirs - even went to having a set of books for school and a set of books for home - because it got so bad. The poor kids look like hunchbacks trying to walk. An easier solution would have been just not so much homework in one night!! Maybe your DS can find a school activity or club that he likes and helps him feel involved in his school. Of course, with all the homework, it can't be too time-consuming! I hope he starts getting more comfortable with the routine soon and having a little fun.

With all you've got on your plate, we'll extend your TR starting time with no penalties. ;) We want you to be rested and worry-free when you begin it!

It is actually a very nice brand new building and is right next to the building he was in for the last 4 years. The kids still ride the same bus in the morning, but not in the afternoon. I started picking them up this week. It doesn't get DS9 home any sooner since we have to wait on DS12, but it is more for DS12 because it gets him home 45+ minutes sooner. So that has helped some. He is able to get his homework started and sometimes done before he would have been home on the bus. I won't always be able to pick him up though once I start working depending on which building I am subbing in on each particular day. :upsidedow But for now I told him I will pick him up whenever I can. Anything to make his day a little better. I always take Jack with me too and that puts a huge smile on DS's face when he sees him! :)

Oh yes, the amount of weight in the backpack is ridiculous. Especially considering DS isn't even 75 pounds himself. Luckily DS9 has the same teacher that DS12 had for 4th grade and she is wonderful and doesn't believe in homework!! :worship: I mean, he gets some homework but very little. She only sends home what she absolutely has to. So thankfully I don't have much to worry about with him this year and I can focus on helping DS12 when he gets home.

I'd love for him to get involved in something this year. But yes, it sure couldn't be anything too time consuming because he could never keep up.

And thankfully he has some classes and lunch with his BFF and some other friends. So that part is going well. I don't think it's really a social issue at all. He's just so overwhelmed by everything!

Good Morning -
