We were at the Magic Kingdom yesterday and we saw the nicest thing!

We were waiting for the 3:00 parade and there was a girl who has Down Syndrome. She was so excited for the parade to start, she just wanted to see Mickey:)
When Mickey rode by on the float she was so happy & yelling Mickey.
Of course Mickey waved at her and that was awesome! Then Woody came by and she yelled Woody- Well, Woody bypassed EVERYONE to come over to her and grabbed her hands and patted her. She was so excited, jumped up and down. It was was awesome to hear her laugh! My Hubby and I got a bit misty eyed as it was soo sweet.

The rest of the day:)
MK was packed tho. So really really crowded. Rides that don't normally have waits (Stitch had fast pass open and the people mover had a HUGE line) During the day was bad- later into the evening it calmed down a bit.

Had no issues eating at Liberty Tree Tavern. It was a character meal / family style lunch as Crystal Palace is closed. they brought me my own little GF plate and I was able to eat a good meal. GF rolls and all:)

I was actually rude to someone...pushy adult group tried to bully their way to the ropes for the parade. shoving kids and leaning on me & Little kids- like 5 yo kids- shoving them under the ropes to make me & those kids step away and lose our spots. My Hubby and another family next to us hubby's did a crossed arms/ feet spread type stance and told them to back off.
I turned around a couple times and I didn't mean to but my purse (hanging over my shoulder) wapped the lady..
it was an interesting time! They finally left when they knew they could'nt bully us.

I thin it is so nice when the characters make a special stop. We have had 2 "magic" moments like that. Our son LOVES Mary Poppins and ran to her and told her he loves her whne we saw her at the park on main street. That night in the parade he was screaming "MARY> MARY!!" she came over to him and gave him a big hug, it was great. THen the next day in EPCOT we kept asking about sleeping beauty ( my son is a ladies man I guess:rolleyes:) the CM told us where she would be and told us to wait and we would be first in line. Well a few minutes later the photographer came out, but was in a different place and by the time we got to him there was already like 20 people in line. The CM that had told us wrong came to us and pulled us out of line and told us to come with him. He took us to the gate Sleeping beauty was coming out of and told our son (5 at the time) that the princess said she needed a handsome prince to escort her to the garden and asked if he would help. Of course he did and she came out and held his hand they took there time walking through that garden instead of just going to the line. It was so sweet that she took the time wiht him. The children will remember things like that for life.

Thanks to the OP and for the above post. You are both so right - it is seeing some of these special moments in person that really make Disney special. And of course these moments will be relived over and over by the children. So sweet!
