It was a perfect end to our night! It was such a chill evening and really was so much fun being in AK at night! I'm glad we didn't do ROL though since it would have made us feel rushed!

It really is!! And so funny because its the park I've spent the least amount of time in at night! I definitely love that the park is open later now! So magical at night!

We bought a lot! haha

We definitely learned this night that its important to call for an uber far earlier than you would expect to (at least at the end of the night). We waited a good ten minutes for the uber to pull up but in the grand scheme of things I’m sure a bus would have taken longer and had been super crowded so it was definitely the better option!

So, where do you pick up the ubers when you are at the park? We have done them to the parks but never from the parks.

We were back to the Grand by 10:40, it was another amazing day!! (Anyone else feel like they could have done more at night when they are writing trip reports? I always feel like I should have done SOMETHING productive but I feel like I’m always way too tired for that!)

Same spot where they drop you off! Just follow the signs to ride share and you’ll be in the right spot!

I do wish that the Enchanted Rose had been open on this trip because that's probably where we would have gone

Mizner's was by far one of the best lounges on property and I am so sad to see it go. I think the Enchanted Rose is going to draw too many kids and take away from the adult vibe Mizners had...That being said, I definitely plan to hit it up one night in January...

I think if you are going to stay at the Grand Floridian you should make the most of your stay and it seems like you did! Love the safari tour! I can't wait to go.

The last minute shopping panic...it'll get you every time. I feel like I overbuy on either the front or back end of every Disney trip. Because I've either just gotten on property and missed seeing all the merchandise or I'm about to leave and worried everything will be gone before I return.

Too funny about the nighttime observation. Back at home, you tend to forget how tired you are at the end of the night!

I never made it to Mizners! I guess I won't know what I'm missing haha the good news is from what I've seen about Enchanted Rose is that it's very adultly themed to BatB! Even using the live action of the characters so I'm thinking it won't draw in too many kids! I honestly think they are just trying to get the millennial aged crowd since we grew up with Beauty and the Beast! I guess its working on me since I never had a desire to go to Mizners but I definitely want to check out Enchanted Rose!!

Exactly!! Especially with the weather being as nice as it was. I definitely would have regretted rushing to brunch and having limited pool time!

They were so gorgeous! Especially at that time of day! I always forget how much I love Animal Kingdom at sunset/night which is a shame since it's the park I'm in at night the least!

Nomad is awesome!! I don't usually make it to lounges outside the parks either unless I'm staying there. If only Magic Kingdom would come up with something. If Disneyland can get Oga's I feel like MK can have something similar that you can have a drink and just can't leave with it

Day 5 Part 1 Monday June 17th

Our last day!

Even though we were heading home that day, our flight home was super late so it was basically going to be a full day in Disney! Yay!

We were up and ready pretty early this morning (some kids decided to be our wake up call by screaming Mom! Mom! Over and over in the lounge right outside our bedroom lol) BUT we had wanted to get packed up and take a walk around the resort before our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare anyway so it wasn't a big deal. If you have followed my TRs before you'll have probably noticed that I NEVER wear anything other than flip flops or sandals in the parks so I had to document the fact that I was wearing Keds today! haha They ended up being pretty comfy but I still prefer flip flops for park shoes! lol Fun fact - the ONLY time I've ever worn legitimate sneakers to Disney was on my high school business club trip to WDW and the chaperone insisted we all wear sneakers. I hated it lol




Ready for the day!




Even though the Grand Floridian had been on my bucketlist forever, I wasn’t sure how I would like it or if it would feel too snobby. And I’m happy to say the Grand stole my heart, I mean just look at this beauty!



Can never pass up pictures with the lobby!





Our first stop on our resort tour was shopping! Dan had decided that even though he had hoarded what seemed like twenty bottles of H20 products during our stay, he really wanted to buy the full size bottles of the body wash and shampoo. He never really finds anything he wants in the way of souvenirs (at least he never used to - he seems to find a lot now lol) so I was happy he found something to bring home with us!

While we were looking around I found this notebook in one of the shops and immediately thought of @StarWarsMomofGirls! This looks like something that she would totally come up with for her girls! (Although I feel like you could totally come up with a MUCH better design and layout than this one – every page was the same as the cover! Lol)

I mean really though who needs a whole book of just MK??? And not even all the rides? I just don't understand the point lol good idea in theory - easy way to journal for kids but at least make it more comprehensive! jeesh!

After we picked up Dan’s shampoo we made our way outside to look at the main pool, the splash pad and the beach.




Before our trip I had seen a picture of the Grand on instagram and the resort looked so pretty I had to get a similar picture!




I really loved my ears today! Had to rep the butterflies!



While we were taking pictures, a CM walked by and told us how you are allowed to walk around the wedding pavilion as long as there isn’t an event or a wedding going on. I had always wanted to see it in person and Dan was intrigued so we made the walk over!





Boyyyyy is my Dad lucky that I didn’t see the wedding pavilion before we got married! Lol If I ever renew my vows I am doing it in Disney. I am still not over how gorgeous the wedding pavilion is!








The CM even told us about the picture window in the pavilion, which makes the castle look larger the farther you are in the room. And it definitely was true! (Dan's also convinced that the windows on Gran Destino tower have the same effect. No confirmation on whether or not that is true - just based on our own observations! lol)



We also checked out the little area behind the pavilion which I’m sure is used for wedding photos. So pretty!





We were lucky and were able to snag a passerby to take a photo of us!




We decided it was probably time to head back since our breakfast reservation was coming up. Well, apparently I’m new to traveling and COMPLETELY forgot that check out time was 11! Lol I was too wrapped up in the fairytale glory of the wedding pavilion! We were back in the room around 11:06 and thankfully, we had already packed everything up before leaving the room and our magic bands were still active to grab our things. We probably could have called for Bell Services but I just wanted to get our stuff situated with Resort Airline Check in so we made our way over.



My bag was apparently over by like .5 pound so the CM had me open my bag to move something from mine to Dan’s to make the weight. Unfortunately, my suitcase was on its last leg (the zipper ripped on the way down to WDW and I had just barely gotten it closed – I was NOT going to pay $200 for one of their suitcases!) and as I was trying to get the dumb thing open I dropped my phone cracking my screen. I was very frustrated by the whole thing (not really their fault, just annoying especially when I've experienced less nit picky CMs at value resorts) but thankfully, the crack didn’t cover my camera or anything so it was still usable for the rest of the day. I think the CM did take pity on me after dropping my phone because once I pulled one thing out he said it was fine and I didn’t need to worry about it anymore.

Finally it was time for breakfast! ​
