Your leaving for boot camp.. now what? Hurry lets plan our last trip to Disney!!!

Hello all.

I've been a very long time lurker here on the Dis boards and I am very addicted to trip reports. We have some very good story writers here. I could sit at my computer all day and read some reports...not like I do or anything but, I really do enjoy it. So when I really quickly planned this upcoming trip I decided to give writing my own TR a shot. So here it goes. I'm not guaranteeing anything spectacular.

First I will introduce myself as well as the title to my TR.

My name is Heather. I'm 19 and I currently live with my mom, dad, and little sister here in Phx, AZ. I have been going to DL since I was a baby almost every summer as a family vacation. I'm addicted to everything about it. It's hard to explain but I assume most of us are here because we are slightly obsessed and we all "get it." So on we go...

I have been working at a franchised ice cream store for the past 3 years and I love my job so much!! I attended a community college here for a year and it was exactly what I thought it would be. But for so long I've always wanted something more for myself. School is not for me right now...that's not what I enjoy and so I decided to join the military. I want to travel the world and work on a ship in the Navy. And that is what I got. I am an Operation Specialist in the US Navy. I found out my job last Tues and was told I ship out on 6/17. I was shocked!!! This happened so fast. I was warned by so many people to expect to be waiting around for months before being shipped out. So now I only have 2 weeks until I leave. Its a crazy roller coaster ride. I will fill you guys in with interesting stuff about that as well.

But on with the trip for now. So I told my parents and (after they got over the shock) we just went ahead and booked a quick little trip before I left. Because we all need a little Disney pick up!!!


Now the good stuff....Trip details!!!

My little sister Brittany, (yes she is taller than me.)
She is 17 and my best friend in the whole world. We are so close. It will be very hard to leave her. During this trip she really, really wants to meet her favorite character Peter Pan. I’ve only seen him out once at DL. He is hard to find. We are determined this trip. We might just have to sit out there with a churro and wait for him to appear.

Next up is my older sister Kristin. She recently turned 21!! We went to Vegas last week to celebrate. I will of course post pics from that trip. This girl is amazing in everyway. She attends NAU and is going on her Senior year, she is also applying to vet school this summer. She is so kind and nice and also has a great sense of humor. Love her to death and will miss her to death.

Next on the list are both my mom and dad. They are scared of cameras but I do have a picture of my dad at my graduation last year. LOL.

My mom works twice a week at a surgeons office and holds the fort down here at home. She knows all her babies are growing up and leaving her and she is very sad...but she is strong and I thank God for how she has raised my sisters and I.

My dad works two jobs and is a workaholic. The only guy in a family of 5 girls. He holds his title well. He is a very determined person! Only up to a few years ago he would not admit his love for Disney. Now he is no longer afraid to admit he would drop anything to go. I love him for that becuase he sees the happiness it brings us girls.(and secretly brings him HA) He has the best sense of humor ever.

And last but definitely not least we have my aunt Leigh Anne and our family friend Amy. My aunt is the coolest person ever. I don't know how I will go 9 weeks with out talking to her. She is so funny and I am so glad she is coming with. Amy as well, She is my Aunt's friend but she is basically a part of our family. We have a wacky sense of humor as you will soon find out. I am so glad she is tagging along!!!

We are slowly converting these two ...but we think we hooked them with the last trip and the 14 billion rides on Tower of Terror. We definitely wore them out LOL. I also think they loved Toy Story

OK so on to exciting trip details!

First of all writing the actual trip report is going to be tricky. I am not sure if I will be able to get a good report done before I ship out. We get back Sunday night and that’s when I will probably write. I also have to check in with my recruiters pretty much everyday and that is time consuming. So I might just have to keep you guys hanging until Nov.? No I won’t do that. But I might just throw a bunch of pictures at you. We will see!!!

Now you all remember me saying I’ve worked for the same people for almost 3 years now. When I first heard I had 3 weeks until I leave I immediately called my boss and had to put in my two weeks. That was really hard but they are such nice and understanding people. So my last day of work is on the 10th, and the second thing on my mind was, of course, Disneyland. So I texted my aunt and was like we HAVE to go to Disney and she texted Amy and they were both in for it. Ok SNAP…two people down 4 to go. So I told my dad and he was like yes the weekend of the 12th will be fine I’m off that weekend so I was like…awesome!! This was totally meant to be. It’s a sign, I have to spend one last weekend at Disney.

Then I asked my mom and she was like “sure that works for me.” Then I had to ask Kristin and she said she had to work Friday night. I was like noooo you have to come!! So she worked some stuff out and she is flying in on Friday afternoon with Amy and LA. OK I will take it.

So the trip is as planned,

Wed June 10th. Last night of work …get off at 10!
Come home and sleep. Finish any last minute packing.

Early Thurs. morning Britt and I are driving over to San Diego for a day of beach fun and shopping, just the two of us! I can’t wait..We need this time together. We are staying at a little Holiday Inn by Sea World.

The hotel got mixed reviews but we are only staying one night and it was cheap so it looks good to me.

It will be hard not to go Sea World. But that is on our plans for when I return.



Friday June 12th is when everyone else arrives. I think Amy, LA, and Kristin is shuttling to our hotel which is the Residence Inn Marriott. And my mom and dad will most likely drive. Or at least I hope. I don’t want to be a chauffeur. This is our second home in Anaheim. The main reason why I tell my parents we have to stay here is because they have a waffle maker. HAHA. I seriously love those waffles!!! We call it the waffle hotel. Let me find a picture. OK so on the to- do list is to get a picture of the waffle maker. That should be interesting. Apparently I have never taken a picture before or else I just can’t find it. Don’t worry …I am on it.

The beds are so super comfy here too. We all sleep like babies…well that’s probably because we are at Disney all day lol!!!


So we have 3 day park hoppers and only about 1 full day and 2 half days at the parks. But we are experienced so we will get it done! I am only anxious to have some fun before I leave….we don’t have to rush around. And of course shopping and eating are must do’s. One thing I have to do is get a Dole float? I think that is what I am hearing around here is so good? Or is this only available at Disney World. Isn't there a stand with them by Adventureland and The Tiki Room?
