Too much pressure... but I will throw out three that I loved 1. Tonight Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love (April Wine)
2. Someone Saved My Life Tonight (Sir Elton)
3. If You Leave Me Now (Chicago)
Had to be a few people's top songs on this board if it was the top song of the decade. I told me wife about this, and she said she vividly recalls this song being number one for 10 weeks, a record that stood until 1991. My wife was still living at her mom's house and Sundays she listened to Casey Kasem while cleaning house.
Too hard to narrow down. Some favorites that haven’t already been mentioned:
Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me - Elton John
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
You Are The Sunshine Of My Life - Stevie Wonder
I’ll Be There - Jackson 5
Old Time Rock n’ Roll - Bob Seger
Follow You Follow Me - Genesis
Colour My World - Chicago
Take Me Home Country Roads - John Denver
How Sweet It Is - James Taylor
Maggie May - Rod Stewart
Killing Me Softly - Roberta Flack
Joy To The World - Three Dog Night
We Will Rock You/ We Are The Champions - Queen
My family drove to Ohio the summer of 1970 to visit some relatives. Car only had AM radio. We must have heard that song two dozen times within the 10 days we were away. It brings back good memories.
