Lingonberry Cheese Cake with ligonberry sauce
Not knowing what lingonberries are supposed to taste like, we dived right in. The cheesecake was silky and creamy and the berries, uhm......sweet......but kinda undescribable. We liked it!

Traditional Rice Cream topped with Fresh Strawberries and Sauce
The rice cream was VERY VERY plain. If this dessert didn't have the strawberries and sauce on it, it would be too plain. The Rice Cream wasn't even sweet. I guess we were expecting it to taste like our american version of rice pudding. Furtermore.....if there were fresh strawberries on that plate....I am CINDERELLA! Those strawberries were no more fresh than I was to Jasmine asking her to belly dance for me!

Chocolate Mousse Cake finished with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar
Uhm....what can I say....this was no different than a "Lil Debbie" cake from the corner store. Hershey's chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. Honestly? It was kinda dry.

We decided to try the POP's tie-died cheesecake

POP10.JPG

Lets just say it is NOT NY Style Cheesecake!

the bottom layer, which appears marroon in the picture is actually cake. In my mind, it is a strange combination for someone who is used to "crumb" bases to cheesecakes. Kevin and I had a lengthy discussion about the various colored layers of cheese cake and final ruling is that they do NOT have individual flavors. When we were tasting them, we thought maybe they did, but it was obvious that it was our minds playing tricks on us and we hadn't even been drinking yet! :drinking1 :drinking1

Overall? I didn't really care for it. I definitely didn't like the cake as the base, and the cheescake part of it, just wasn't creamy like I enjoy it. The cheescake part of it had a grainy texture.

Also, I expected the foodcoloring to change our tongue color, and it didn't! I was disappointed in that! I was expecting this to be a "kid" friendly sort of thing...and kids LOVE to have their tongues colored!

You can find the recipe here. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=673814&highlight=French+Toast+Loaf
Ive made it a few times now and while it comes out pretty good, it is always so much better eating it off the side of Main St watching the crowds pour in for the morning (after doing EMH, of course ;))

i took a look at the recipe, and i really would like to try it! what exactly is 'homestyle white' bread, though? i'm afraid i'm horrible with cooking in general, and i'd probably end up using the wrong thing

This thread should come with an elastic waist band. I like looking at these pics (over and over :rotfl2: ) before lunch...it makes everything taste good! I can't believe we didn't think to take pictures of our food on our last trip! I'll have to buy another memory card for Nov. :rotfl2:
