Ok i really like the little cake! very cute just what i need! BUT my boyfriend will no do that for me, i do all the planning and what not even for my own birthday! ha so could you tell me how to go about getting one of those?! and do you know anything about the POR bakery?!

You can only get the mini castle cake at the GF as a guest (in your room) or at one of their restaurants. Its $25 if you include the castle.

I thought it was delicious. Much better than the white chocolate slipper.

Regarding POR, I do not believe they have a bakery. Usually, only the deluxes have bakeries.

Quite honestly, it everything seems to change depending upon which CM you get on the phone. When I called on Sunday, I called the # that Disney Dining gave me for the GF. I was transferred because I made a special request for a white chocolate Mickey. The only information that I gave the woman was the # in our party. She told me that I could either order an 8in or 10in. I ordered the 8in for $25. The white chocolate figure is now $35 though!!! It is for our vow renewal, so I had no problem paying that much. She suggested the Mickey and Minnie one as it was for a Vow Renewal. So the total that I was given was $60. I ordered everything chocolate with chocolate buttercream.(Just in case it gets messed up. I knew my family wouldn't care for the white chocolate ganache-dark chocolate is A-ok!;) )

So we will see what we actually get when we arrive for dinner on April 23! Good luck to everyone!!! If they continue to be rude though, I would think that there must be someone that coud be contacted ( manager at the GF, Disney themselves???) The CM I had was very nice and very helpful, so I personally can't complain (Yet!:goodvibes )

Happy Planning Everyone!

Good to hear they were friendly with you and also good to hear that you were able to get the 8 inch customized.

You are so right. Lots of times it just depends on the CM you get. ::yes::

Can someone PLEASE update the first post with new updated information. A DISer on here mentioned that the AKL Zebra Stripped Cake is now $30 and NOT $50. Thanks!

Oh no you can put a deco on an 8 inch cake, but what I meant by the would not allow me to customize it was they said I could only get all chocolate, or all vanilla as flavors for filling, and cake. That's not what I had read on here about the 8 inch, so when I called he tried pushing the 6 inch on me, but I said no I wanted soemthing special, so when I asked about the 8 inch and can I pick the flavors he said no.

We had reservations at Flying Fish Cafe and I ordered a 6inch specialty cake for my Dad's 60th birthday! My choice was pretty much just vanilla or chocolate. The cake was fantastic! Disney's buttercream icing is the best! :goodvibes

hiya lindsey..... how was 2nd interview :goodvibes ?

Can I order a cake for the Kona Cafe? We're having our anniversary dinner there and wanted to look into getting a cake. TIA!!

i was thinking of ordering the $25 mini castle cake to have while doing tea at the grand floridian, but some reviews are less than favorable - not much choice in fillings, not worth the price - still not decided....

We have had the BW Bakery Mickey Cake twice and just loved it. We were staying there at the time. Can we get one delivered to our cabin at Ft. W.?

we leave on saturday so would it be to late to order a cake for sunday? Also would it be best just going to the boardwalk bakery to get a cake?

Just my opinion here. DH ordered me one for our 1900 park fare breakfast during our honeymoon. They don't offer you any other cake or filling flavors only chocolate/chocolate filling, vanilla/vanilla filling, or chessecake. That's the only thing offered in the mini cake. I found the frosting to be greasy in taste and texture, and basically it was all filling and very little cake. While it's cute in presentation it just did not taste as good as I was expecting from GF. The chocolate castle on top is also hollow just incase anyone wondered.

We're staying at FW next week and was unsure of this. So we decided instead to have dinner at WCC where I ordered the Mickey head cake for $45 from the WL bakery.

We thought it was delicious and the presentation was great. I was surprised at how good it was.

I've only heard of one negative review.

Great Idea! Do you think you can pick it up there and take it to the cabin or do you have to eat there? We already have our meals planned for her birthday.

i'll probably still order it, to be served while at the GF for the tea - wow, the chocolate castle is hollow! it looks solid in pictures - think i'd go with the all vanilla version - and won't be sharing it, either!
