Just an FYI...if you are referring to the cake above your post, that cake is about $200. It described on page 38 of this thread.

It is not the same as the $25 mini castle cake that you can order at the GF.

This one is the $25 mini cake:

hi piglet's parents! basically, i discovered this thread when i joined DIS and decided immediately that I had to have one of these cakes! i printed off some pictures of my favourite cakes from this thread, (the ones with the small castle on top being my favourite). We ordered the cake at the front desk 2 days before my birthday, by filling out an order form. I showed the Cast Member helping us the pictures I had printed and she was amazed, and really helpful. I filled out the form, saying I wanted a 10" (I think it was 10", I can't really remember, but it was the size that serves 16 people if that helps), buttercream cake (fresh cream is also available), with a white chocolate castle on top and a white chocolate mickey on the side. That was literally all the information I gave, and this is what I got! I had not seen a chocolate castle that big before, and it was really beautiful. I think the frosting was just vanilla frosting, it was nice. The little dollops of frosting all around the cake are tiny mickey mouse heads. They left the cake in the room for us, with 16 plates, forks, knives and cloths, some candles and matches. Without telling me, my mother had asked them that morning to decorate the room with balloons and banners and stuff that she had bought, and they did so. They left the lights in the room dimmed really low and I nearly cried when I walked in. The whole thing was beautiful and really well done. Here are some more pictures of the cake.

(the numbered candles were our own and did not come with the cake)

we paid by credit card and got the bill when we returned home. It came to $202 with a cross border handling fee, so I think the cake itself was maybe about $180. Compared to what we pay for birthday cakes over here this was not expensive, especially for something so special and beautiful. And trust me, it was huge!

ps i couldn't bring myself to eat the castle or mickey and I brought them home, they're still intact! :thumbsup2

My son got a Mickey Cake from BW Bakery and a Chocolate Mickey like yours was delivered also. We wanted to save the white chocolate Mickey statue to eat at home, since our cake was so huge we had to leave some. Mickey melted on the drive home in only slightly warm weather. I have always regretted not eating him at DW!

BAGGEEZA!!! Youd think for a couple of hundred bucks they might flick you the numbered candles:sad2:

:lmao: good point, although I can't fault them on anything, it was just excellent.

FeeFeeWhite, I wrapped the castle (believe me it was heavy) and the chocolate mickey in tin foil and carried them on the plane as hand luggage  and they made it safely all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. I've since eaten most of the castle since I realised I couldn't keep it forever :( , but mickey is still all wrapped up, I can't bring myself to eat him just yet :thumbsup2

How do you order the mini castle cake for $25.00??? I would like to order one for our trip when we have afternoon tea at the GF.

Thanks for the CRT info and number. We will be eating lunch there on the kids' 7th birthday.

Does anyone have any info on HDDR cakes? We're having dinner there that same night.

Hi Denise.... at one point people were posting that HDDR did not want cakes to be ordered because it was too hard with the timing of the show. Not sure if this is still the case or not.

Will they know what I am talking about?? Do I just tell them I want the mini castle cake for $25.00?

The GF bakery 'should' know what you mean with a brief description of it because many here have ordered it before. I'd tell them I'd like to order a special dessert for a meal I'm having. Its a mini wedding cake with a white chocolate castle on it and I think its $25 (you could even say you saw it featured on a Disney wedding show on the Food Network). Then say I'd like to order one and could you tell me what favors it comes in? Also, if you'd like a name written on the plate in chocolate be sure and ask for that as well. It was free for me but I do not know if it still is free.

Good luck!

I have planned a birthday dinner for DD4 at 1900 PF. If I order a cake, can I give them a cake topper? I just found a really cute Mickey at Lenox and would love to use it on her cake.

I would really like to know the answer to this question too.

Thanks to all the info on this thread, I ordered a cake for my boyfriend and I's Valentine's Day dinner at Le Cellier. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't see that we had a cake, so I had to ask him for it when he brought our check and it kinda ruined the surprise. And we were so full from dinner we didn't really have room for cake, too, so we boxed it and brought it back to the resort. But thanks to everyone in this thread for all the helpful info - you helped me create a special memory :)

The cake was an 8-inch chocolate with whipped cream frosting. I think total with tax and everything was about $56.

Suscribing. Boy, I hope the GF changes their tune. I want to order a mini castle to pick up and take over the the CG for my daughter. Hoping if I have the concierge at OKW call, they'll be nicer :confused3

If your order a cake for an IllumiNations Cruise, do tey deliver it to your boat with plates and forks. And does it come in a box so you can take it to your room?

I think this thread has gotten me over-excited! I ordered the Mickey head cake from WL for my ds13 bday at WCC. I also called GGrill to see about getting a cake for my bday (okay, I felt a little funny doing it, but hey!)and they told me they had noted my bday on my ressie and I would receive a complimentary 6" cake! Fine with me I said!

Also I had already lined up a diver and a menu at CR and the wonderful CM (Alicia) arranged for us to have chocolate covered strawberries instead of a cake. She said they hadn't done that before, but she was sooo friendly and helpful and she said she would arrange it! I love these boards!:disrocks:

Does anyone know if Saratoga Springs Resort can do a cake?? We are staying there for my mom's 55th birthday. Also, we are dining at Wolfgang Puck Cafe....anyone know if they do anything??
Thanks so much!;)

We are goiing to WDW in Sept. My two grandsons will be celebrating their 2nd and 4th BD's there. We are having dinner at Chef Mickey's to celebrate. I know they get a cupcake, but I want alittle more than that. What kind of sm cake does Chef Mickey's have. I have looked at the cakes on line. I like the one with Mickey on it and confetti on it. I only want a 6 in cause we are not big cake eaters and anymore would be a waste. Can I bring decorations for the table and give it to the hostess in the morning, so that they will decorate our table? Can you do that? Also I would like to get the tiny wedding cake with the castle on it for my sons Anniversary dinner at California Grill. Can CG make that, or do I have to order it from GF and have it delivered to CG? Is that possible. Thanks. :confused3

I know that this has been posted somewhere and I am going to try and find it(wish me luck) but if someone reads this and knows the answer that would be great.
We are having a b-day dinner for my mom at o'hana's. Do they have good cakes and when should I order it.
Also, is it an option to order from the GF and Pick up?

Thanks
