Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I will be visiting Disney with my soon to be 9 year old niece. In fact, her birthday is the second day we're there. Is there somewhere I can get a small cake (cupcakes, brownie size) that just the two of us can enjoy?

You can go to the MK bakery or the Boardwalk bakery and pick something for the two of you.

If you mean in a restaurant, then you'd call the restaurant to arrange it. All the info you need is on the first page of this thread.

Can any of this be delivered to your room once you are checked in? And is it only specific resorts? We will be staying at the Pop Century for our anniversary trip just DH and I. I thought it would be neat to have something delivered like the chocolate mickey and strawberries.

Thanks

I only know of deluxe resorts and most restaurants with the ability to have a cake delivered/ordered.

Some moderates/values have a couple of cakes in their food court fridge.

We're heading to WDW to celebrate my 18th birthday in July.

I'd really like a personalised cake. :cake: Can you order these directly from the restaurant when you make an ADR? Or do I need to order it from another bakery (e.g. BW or GF)?

If I order it from another bakery, will they deliver it to the restaurant?

It depends on the restaurant.

GF bakery only delivers and makes cakes for their restaurants and their guests.

Boardwalk I believe only arranges cakes for the MGM/Epcot resorts like Boardwalk and Beach Club but you would call the resort to arrange it. You can also go to the Boardwalk bakery and pick up a cake.

MK restaurants you'd call: MK Cake ordering Number: 407-824-7091

Some you'd call the restaurant directly.

If it's at a resort, you'd call the resort directly.

Most of these questions can be answer in the first two pages of this thread.

you might want to check out www.disneyflorist.com for something to be delivered to your room... they have a ton of standard designs, but also "personalize" to suit your needs... maybe a nice bottle of bubbly or something...

My turn with a question - does anyone know if cakes at the Poly are made on-site there or if they are farmed out to one of the other bigger bakeries? Just curious more than anything. The Ohana cakes look quite unique so I am guessing they are made there, but I've also not heard of anyone getting an in-room cake delivery at the Poly.

I am hoping for an in-room cake at the Poly.

Ah, here's the question I have been looking for. I have a mother/daughter trip coming up in October at the Poly and I ould love an in room cake for my mom and I. Thanks as always for all your help Disers!!:thumbsup2

Hi there:wave2: We are also off to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday we arrive the 9 july
party: will it be your birthday while you are there

Here is the cake I ordered for our Vow Renewal. It was $40 (they had quoted me $60 on the phone) I thought the cake was a little dry, but everyone else loved it!

Any experiences or pictures of cakes from the Poly? How are they about customizing flavors? Any creative designs?

We're going for a Christmas trip in early Dec, so I'm not planning on getting a character cake, just leaving it up to the bakery to come up with a pretty holiday cake.

Unfortunately, we miss my birthday by a couple of days because i am doing a levels right up until the 28th (when we go to disney).

But instead of having a birthday party at home, we are hoping to go for a special meal or do something for my birthday whilst in WDW.

Are you there for your daughter's actual birthday?

I hope your daughter has a :bday:

There are pics from Ohana in this thread, I believe. I've seen at least 3 cakes during the past year, they've all had flowers, generally tropical theme, no characters so far.

I am going to call Poly private dining when I get a chance. Will report back.

I called today & ordered a cake for our dinner next Monday night at LTT.
That is my MIL's b-day.
The CM I spoke with on the phone was VERY nice!

We're getting an 8 inch/10 inch/12 inch vanilla cake (I can't remember which) with a pic. of Mickey on the top. Total cost - $33.00.

I had been putting off calling that cake order in for 2 weeks.
I'm so glad I finally did it!!! :yay:

Can you just walk in and get a cake here or do you need to order it in advance? I thought the Mickey cake would be nice.
We did a cake last trip for our dinner at Artist Point which was delicious! I of course ordered that in advance. I just wasn't sure about the bakery.
Thanks guys!

I called the Contemporary today to order a bday cake for the magical fireworks voyage. They even took a special order for cannoli cream filling and did not charge me extra for it. I'm getting the cake that serves 16 people, with chocolate cake, cannoli filling, white buttercream frosting and tinkerbell on it for $40. I thought that was very reasonable. They're even going to deliver it to the boat for me  The CM I spoke to was WONDERFUL!!!!

I also called GF because I am trying to put together something for my parents 25th anniversary and I wanted to have a black forest cake, as this is what they had at thier wedding 25 years ago. I'm trying to duplicate the menu. They told me they could do black forest on a 6inch cake but they would need to charge me extra to do the black forest, which is fine by me. I'm just glad they could do it. Just thought I would spread my good news to fellow DISers.

They do have some cakes in the display case you can buy.
