The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 31

Hello All. We just discovered emailsanta.com. The kids each sent a letter and got an immediate response. Then we checked to see who had been naughty or nice. We were all nice, but the kids all got B+ and I got a C+ I was just being honest :rotfl: It was fun seeing what the kids from around the world were writing.

Ohhhh!! I will have to try that later!!

The sleepover was a success. I survived, and more importantly, so did the children. They went to sleep around 11:30 and were up at 6AM! I heard them playing video games downstairs but I didn't go down until about 7:30. Parents were here at 8:30 to retrieve them. We were busy running around all day today and I am finally laying down resting. I'm exhausted.

that is the biggest downfall of sleepovers...the exhaustion afterward.

So you are no longer a sleepover virgin. The big question is will you do it again??:confused3

We are back for a little bit...the parade was great. Cold and a little slippery but not for the kids:thumbsup2

Cassidy was moved about 5 minutes before the parade started to the middle of the pack...we couldn't find her.:headache: We believe it's because she dresses better than most kids.

Took us a lot less time to come home than last year so just waiting for Cassidy and off to CiCi's where the band takes over the whole place!!:goodvibes

Look what I got from the UP of Michigan today! Just in time to christen my tree.

I thought it was from Vicki, but the return address says Becky! So, whichever lovely Yooper sent it, thanks! I love it. :goodvibes:

It was from Becky. We spent a lot of time searching for Sorcerer Mickey & Merryweather. We lost many ebay bids and so we had to look for something different. For some reason, I thought of you & your girls when I saw this one. I don't know why. It isn't like you talk about shopping much but that's what happened.

I don't think I will be able to get out of it. It really wasn't bad.

Sounds like a Clare-ism.

I guess it is, in a way!

Main Entry: lar·der
Function: noun
Pronunciation: 'lär-d&r
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French lardier, from lard
1 : a place where food is stored : PANTRY
2 : a supply of food

it's a farm-ism....at least around here.

You lost me there, Theresa!

Can I get opinions?

My MIL called this afternoon and asked us to send her pictures of the girls....for her Christmas Cards.:confused3 She wants them within a week and didn't offer to pay for them or the mailing....the more I thought about it the more irked I got. First they aren't her kids, second she didn't offer any reimbursement, third she wants them immediately.

Am I being unreasonable??

all the farms around here have larders....pantries are city words.

I lose people easily...it sounds right in my head. :confused3

:rotfl: I shop all the time, Vicki It is just perfect. You and Becky went to a lot of work to get the perfect ornament and you got it! It does remind me of the girls and I love it. :goodvibes

Could you upload the picture to a Walgreens in her area and then have her pick them up and pay for them? It would be instant...and then the responsibility to pay & get them falls on her.

Weather here is horrible. Good thing that I decided to stay in Lansing. I would have made it home last night. However, I'm not sure I'd be coming back down tomorrow or Monday. It started as snow and is now changing to sleet. I'm glad I'm in for the night. I made plans to work at one of the offices downtown tomorrow but if it stays this way, we'll work late Monday & Tuesday night instead and I"ll hibernate in my room at the Residence Inn.

Several of my team were down here for a meeting yesterday and left when I would have. I made them call me when they got home. The last one arrived at her house at 2:15am. They said the roads were slick. The last one to call started off "Hello Mother Hen". When did I turn into my mother? It used to drive me crazy that she wanted me to call her as soon as I made it to my destination. Now I do the same thing to my kids and even my staff. :lmao:

weather here is horrendous as well...completely covered in ice!! Glad to be in for the night

Well, I assume you went to the parade... Aren't you glad it didn't sleet?? ;)
Yes we did, but we were cold. Bob came through town on the way home from the party that he took Nicholas to. I told him to stop and put the chairs up. After I got home with Alyssa from her party we dressed warm and headed out, parked at that vision place and walked across the Chatham Bridge. I wish they had the Clydesdales like they did last year. But when I put my dogs out a little while ago it was sleeting at my house!

Well, it sounds like an odd request to me. But it is also touching that she wants to share her granddaughters with those she loves to send Christmas cards to. I do agree that it is rude of her not to offer to pay for the photos if she wanted more than one. I think, if it were me, I would just be unable to comply in the time frame given. ;)
