This is a whole other story . . .

My Sophia is a shy one about stuff like this. Kim understands completely. Will not go anywhere without mom or dad. So while Sophia got to be a courtside kid and sit on the side of the court while the teams warmed up, Dad got to be a courtside dad. She would NOT go anywhere with the nice Cavaliers people or the other kids without me. When they saw this, they were nice about it, and told me I could sit in one of the courtside seats to be near her. I was the ONLY parent anywhere nearby.

I kept waiting for someone to come and kick me out of their $750 courtside Jack Nicholson type seat. We made it through all the warmups with no incident. The cool thing was I could take a picture of her on the court easy since I was there, and had a nice conversation with one of the girls who takes them out who also told me she was just like Sophia and now Dances for the Cavaliers n the court - didn't tell Amy about that!

That is great that they let you go along and she got to experience it. And, just think of all the great scrapbook pics you now have :thumbsup2

JOHN ... the kids just came in to see what I was laughing about!! :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

You are a very brave man. ;)

:tinker: Karen

I don't think that's bravery- just silliness.

Bravery is what I read about you in your post with your daughter.

I have a huge rubbermaid tub of stuff from our Xmas Dec 2005 WDW & DCL trip full of stuff, albums, stickers, paper, idea books, photos, and haven't done a single page. Shame on me. Bad scrapper. My NYE cruise buddies taught me a new word today, I have scrapathy.

My problem is I enjoy buying new supplies rather than using them so I'm a collector!

Thanks Sandra, DU did mine but I don't know how early in the a.m. it was. Hopefully we will get a call too. Was your res through DCL?

Yes, we booked through DCL. I actually booked online as my husband continued to try to get through to DCL. He finally got through and that is when we found out that there were no cat 1 to 3 rooms left so were happy we had booked the cat 4 online.

I so live this! But it scored you some great seats!! What a great experience for her. Tell her I am totally impressed she did it! I am going to tell savannah all about it in the morning.

Goodnight everybody! Have to get up in a few hours.

I guess I'll have to try and watch Lost tomorrow night after Tyler's in bed. Not something I'd watch with him around.

Has everyone finished their taxes yet?

I just completed and filed ours. Yea - done for another year :cool1:

Don't be too hard on yourself. We are still scrapbooking our December 2005 WDW and DCL vacation as well. We have a lot of pages done but so many more to do.

Did Sophia get a kick out of that? Just watch she will be making all kinds cute boxers soon. Or did you tell her? Maybe not I guess you know how kids like to tell other people all kinds of juicy stuff about their parents. Never forget the time my daughter was very young and told the grocery checker that mommy and daddy "were nakedbutts". :scared1: The butt is no longer in my life thankfully but that crazy moment in the store still is.

oh my gosh that is so funny :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You are so welcome. I was also relieved to know that maybe I shouldn't panic just yet about the sold out excursions.

I have contacted with the person responsible for the yahoo group for kids. I hope they meet some girls on there. In the past, my girls have emailed other girls prior to the cruise and it was so exciting for them to meet onboard.

My daughter is 9 and she will be posting on the yahoo group from time to time. There is a good number of girls in that age range it seems on here.

No, my accomplishment was that I got everyone's w-2 and 1099's finished and paid the payroll and quarterly taxes. After the audit, then I can do K-1's which means, sometime in April I actually get to do my own taxes.

That sounded kind of whiney huh.. Sorry, annoyed controller here....

You know the saying...the cobbler's kids go barefoot (I hope that is how the saying goes, I always mess things like that up:lmao: )?! My dad is my accountant so mine usually get done in June or so:confused3 I am still waiting on quite a few 1099's actually....so once again I bet they will be done in May or June!

Can you post the link to that news story too?

Oh sure Kim . . .

I'll post that one along with the questions the paper answers about our levy . . .

Yesterday, well actually Friday, they had a question from someone who said they heard that the school board went on a golf outing that cost the school district $57,000!! They actually printed and answered this question for this person. I have NEVER even golfed a day in my life!

I can just see Monday's questions . . .

I read on the DIS boards that the School Board President wears jewels on his boxers, is this true?

Well Deb, she just took them out of my drawer . . .

She wanted to practice her new toy, but Lord knows why she picked a pair of my boxers to practice on. I forgot about it, and have absolutely no idea how I did not notice when I first put them on after my shower. During the day, I kept thinking I was feeling a rivet from my Levis . . . nope, rhinestone.

:rotfl2: "rhinestone" :rotfl2:

Hey, it's always the true stuff that's really interesting.

Kaylee, I think you shouldn't give it a moments worry. I do think there is always a chance to get in on stuff on board. Remember, people can reserve and drop out up to 2 days before. So I admit that I did that on our cruise. Parasailing looked good, so I signed up, but I chickened out...

Jacinda really really wants to parasail HOWEVER the "excursion" says you have to be 8 years old so shes got that but then it says and at least 80 pounds. Needless to say poor Jacinda has a few years to go on that one!

Thank you Karen, I enjoy these kinds of things but I have to admit, I have brought out the crafty side in my DH and he has helped with all of it. He can come up with some pretty good ideas of his own, too.

Carol

Carol, can we stop being quiet now? :surfweb: Are you done working on DIS projects? ;)

Yes, I received a letter in the mail from the OT at school telling me she evaluated him a few times and provided the results of her testing and recommendations for private OT. We haven't set that up yet because we're already having trouble keeping all these appointments straight with so many different doctors. One thing at a time. Plus, she also suggested waiting until summer because there is a summer group OT session at one place she recommended.

Good luck with it. We had Molly in OT for the school year of 2nd grade. It did help, but frankly unless she was getting daily support it wasn't and didn't make a dent in the situtation. We paid for it out of pocket at $150 per session so we opted the next school year to move towards another idea, tp increase her muscle strenght (which was a big part of the issue) the year of
3rd grade we had her in horseback riding lessons. This came with a hour + of stable work before and after. That of course is where she developed her love of horses. Lots of what we learned at OT that year was common sense and I wish I had better self disipline as I can work with her, but I hate to exercise myself so there in lies much of our problem.
