Hey Wendy....how weird is this....You asked about Edible Arrangements, and in the mail today in my ValPak coupon envelope was a "coupon" for them! :thumbsup2

The coupon is "Save $4 when you mention this ad. Offer code must be used when placing the order. Offer expires 4/12/08. Code: PAVP0273". Hope that helps ya out.... ;)

I'll give you a Chinese food story in return Penny.

We live in the boonies. Rural NE Georgia. The tastes here, food wise, run toward fried, battered and fried, breaded and fried, and fried fried.

We have two Chinese restaurants. One of them has the gigantic fish tank up front with koi and a little fountain, etc. The boys almost always pick that one because of the fish and the fountain. The food is... tolerable... for the most part. However, they have obviously started catering to the local tastes. The last time we were there, I ordered almond fried chicken.

When they brought me my plate, I kid you not, I had chicken strips (like you would get from a box in the freezer) cut up with brown gravy dumped over it(not brown sauce, mind you, gravy... like McCormicks powder brown gravy) and almond slices sprinkled on top.

I don't know what part of China that dish is from, but it must be in the Deep South.

Sharon - sounds like you have a great night, funny about making a quick entrance/exit with DS & friend.

Yep, first trip down was to bring them munchies. Next was to put laundry in the wash, and of course I had to put the clothes in the dryer later, right?! (No hanky panky in my house, unless I'm the one doing it!)

james just looks at me and rolls his eyes! :lmao:

Does seem to be alot of deep frying going on down south...what's with the whole Calabash style (imo it's tasteless)...think it's mostly cornmeal & no seasonings?

Penny - do you remember the guy in Freeport who owns a Chinese Restaurant and had his 7 pet koi seized by the Dept of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife?

Yep, it's illegal here in Maine to keep Koi. They are an invasive species.

It was quite a stink in the press for awhile. He had these fish on display for 15 years. He was finally granted a 5
year permit to display them in his restaurant, but had to post a sign saying that the fish are illegal in Maine without a special permit.

Robby Gordon's team got hit with the same 3 penalties that Carl Edwards did... except his stemmed from a pre-race inspection and involved his bumper. They argued that they installed the bumper as shipped from the manufacturer (i.e. "hey, we didn't know it wasn't right") and that they didn't get any advantage in the competition since it was discovered and corrected before the start of the race.

Nascar dropped the points penalties, moving Gordon from 37th to 21st in the Cup standings... but upped the fine on the crew chief... basically saying that it was his fault for not inspecting the part prior to installing it.

Wow...sounds like losing points can really 'make you or break you'....unlike other sports where you have a chance to "come back and catch up"..... I don't think he should have gotten penalized based on their arguement. If they DID know the bumper was illegal, would they have REALLY put it on there in the first place...KNOWING an inspection was imminent... :confused3 ...that's just dumb! But, like you said, he didn't get an advantage in the race cuz they changed it beforehand.... I can understand the crew chief should have known...kinda of his job to know...that's what they pay him for....

We are noticing that the floor models we've tried are a bit softer (probably because so many people are in and out of them), so we're waiting for ours to loosen up a bit.

More of this will loosen/soften your new bed :teeth:
(by the way...that is how that nanner IS...the DIS isn't censoring it....)

Jennifer, I thought of you ... guess what I just got in the mail? A free in-home tryout Certificate for Tempur Pedic. Too late for us :lmao: .

That would Mr. Murphy at it again.... :headache:

Brab, it's just ebayexpress.com. No bidding; just buy it. I bought from a seller that allowed me to combine shipping to save on charges. I got 3 lotions (all 13.5 oz) for $52, which includes shipping. That's what I normally would've spent on one bottle since I'd pay tax here. :thumbsup2

What is the weather like in everyone's neck of the woods. I am going to have to build an arc soon.... And now there just was the loudest boom of thunder! Suppose I should get offline!

You got a GREAT deal on those lotions Jodie.... I'm actually waiting on a couple catalogs at work to order from. If y'all want, (once I get them), I will order whatever ya's want at cost...you just have to pay for the lotion and me to ship it to you....(and you know I would be cheaper than online sites!) I've been googling 'wholesale' lotions too...finding some good deals...some 'not so great deals'.... I am so spoiled by paying 'cost' for stuff like this...I refuse to pay more than I have to :rolleyes1 I'll let ya know when I get my catalogs....one I've requested is from Four Seasons...they carry a lot of lines...And, I requested another catalog from a discounted site, (it was in a tanning magazine we got at the salon), allhourstanningsupplies ...don't know how long it'll take :confused3

Our weather was 'drying' this morning...rainy afternoon, then sunny around dinnertime. Now, if it's not bolted down out there...it's blowin' away! I think the news said 25mph winds...sustained...

I buy mine on eBay. The last bottle I bought was Zulmani by Three Wishes Tan. I got a 14 oz bottle for about $16 shipped. It's $56 at the tanning salon!:scared1: I don't do the HOT tingle stuff....

You can't do the 'tingle' stuff until you are tan....then, it won't feel tingly... When you are dark, and feel you've "plateau-ed" and aren't getting any darker...use a tingle lotion....it works! And, IF you are dark enuf, you won't feel the tingle :thumbsup2 Buy a sample in a salon and give it a try...I was leery, but a staff member let me try his....I used Supre's Smoke...worked great! (altho...I don't see it for sale anymore...guess they discontinued it?) I remember one night I came home from tanning (used the tingle lotion) and was sitting on the sofa watching tv and DH was sitting on the floor in front of me with his arm across my legs. About 20-30 minutes later, his arm was burning....from the tingle lotion  :lmao: (not funny at the time, but it is now.....now he always asks if I've used "that stuff"... :lmao: )

I can't spend that much time ketchuping...I woke up with a really sore throat this morning whe DH came in from work and I just woke up. My sweet little Jacob is gone to the kitchen right now to get me some water and cold medicine.

Baby sis has tanned some too.....she thinks she tans faster than me...:rolleyes1 Can you believe she's nearly 15 years younger than me? She was my flower girl when I got married and my mom said that she cried all night after I left the church wanting my parents to go get me. She stayed with me a lot when she was little and sometimes, I'm almost like a second mom to her. I have a sister that's 19 months older than me too. I love them both. Elizabeth (baby sis) always called me the sweet sister.

Hoping dear Jacob took care of Mom today and you are feeling a bit better.... (Good when they're older and can do that :thumbsup2 ) You look young....your sister doesn't look 15 years younger!? :confused3 I don't know if she tans faster than you or not, but she wasn't tanner than you in that pic :rolleyes1 ...she needs to get on it...

Good nght homies off to take some meds and see if I can get some rest :cloud9:

Night Lawrence...feel better! :teeth:

Have you ever been to Calabash and eaten seafood at one of the restaurants? OMG...excellent!

several times, i just don't "get it", everthing tastes exactly the same to me...too bland & i don't like that gritty feeling...guess it's an acquired taste (like beer):rotfl:

not sure if it was just a regional preparation or prevalent thru the south

i do enjoy most low country cooking dishes and the different BBQs from the NC vinegar based all the way thru the dry rubs & tomato...drool;)

Todd, ole buddy ole pal.....I nominate you to go by and try the Jamaican Jerk Wings at Lone Palm and go in Margaritaville and try the Jamaica Mistaica wings and come back and report the results..... They give you wet wipes with the wings at the lone palm! They are so messy!!!

Eh...what the heck...I'll second that nomination!

Afternoon homies doing a quick stop by and finally got my pc up and running

:cool1: Good for you!!! Altho, most every nite, I grab my laptop and sit in my comfy, warm bed and do my ketchupin' while DH is on his desktop computer... ;) Glad you are feeling better....

Hmmmm...maybe...are they spicy? I don't do well with spicy foods. I tend to take off like the shuttle if it's too bad. So...you might see a green cloud floating over CityWalk.

:lmao:

one of my sons had a bd this week and i can't imagine him getting married this young....
he did give his gf a promise ring on his birthday.

now only if he could get a job.......

Raven's Son!!!!

Sooooo....what's the promise ring for??? :rolleyes1 Guessing having a job would come in handy if he plans on fulfilling that promise....

hey, that horny banana smilie got censored.
i have a gray little, yes little box covering a portion of the nanners.....

how can anyone censor a banana........

Nobody censored it...that's just how it is.... :confused3

had a wicked headache when i got up and when back to bed. DH has a cold and around my eye just hurt. little better now, but feel a cold coming on.

I don't get it....you've been telling us you're stuck at home? How can you be getting sick??? :confused3 :sad2: Hope you feel better....

Tetanus shots are an every 10 year thing for adults.

Bubba went for annual check up last week....the look of fear on his face when doc said he needed Hep A shot.... Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill :headache: He got himself SO worked up....I explained he never cried for a shot...NEVER! Not when he was 6mths, 2 yrs., 4 yrs., etc..... Have no idea why at the ripe age of 9 he decides to get worked up? :confused3 It was over before he knew it and admitted he made a bigger deal over it than it really was. I told him, "Please try to remember that in 2 years." He said, "Why?" I said, "Cuz that's when your next shot is." Again...the look of "Oh crap!" ......:lmao:

my job is to spend mr mac's money and save my money.
i let him pay all the bills.......

that's how nice i am to him.....:rolleyes1

No wonder we get along so great.....we think alike! :lmao: DH earns all the money and pays all the bills (except 2)...all my money pays those 2 bills and for our vacation....

Yes, I want to redo the kitchen. I do cook a tiny bit. And, don't forget, I have to heat up Thanksgiving dinner from Wegmans every year. ;) Mainly, I just think my kitchen is ugly.

My hugest pet peeve is that my cabinets don't go all the way up to the ceiling. I think that is the cheesiest look EVER, and of course that's what I have now. It's just a sloppy look, and I CAN'T STAND it in my house! My oven is also a wall oven so it's very narrow. So, I want a double oven, one on top of the other. My microwave doesn't go over my ceramic range top right now, and it needs to, with a new hood. And, another huge pet peeve is cheap counter tops (which I have now). When I redid my upstairs bath, I put in Corian with a seamless matching sink and cove-backsplash (yes, I HATE seams and they are all over my friggin kitchen now). The Corian so nice. When I redo the kitchen, I am going for the Zodiaq. My kitchen really does drive me nuts. Everyone knows: light countertop/dark cabinets or dark countertop/light cabinets. We have white (old) cabinets and off-white countertops. ICK!

It's really hard to picture...I think I need to see a picture.... ;)

Now, all I need is an extra $60K lying around somewhere to do everything I want to do (pantry and laundryroom off the kitchen should be redone at the same time). Anyone know a good place I can find $60K just lying around and doing nothing?! :lmao:

the bank??? :confused3

You're such a sweetie for offering to get us lotion! It does sound like Jodie got a great deal! I don't know much about different lotions...I'm probably ready for some "tingle" stuff if that's the way it works. I used some once and it lit me on fire :scared1: DH has some called Arctic Fever and I haven't used it in a while, but it's really weird (cold and hot at the same time), it's made by California Tan and says Dark Chilling Inferno. I might try it again tomorrow. I think only on my arms and legs though, I seem to be so much darker on the rest of my body than on my arms and legs :confused3. Little sis is waiting on ME to get my 220 line in so she can tan here (her month was up on the 6th). This has been a rough month for her and she has not used her time wisely that she paid for (she bought the level 3 package and I bought the level 1 package)....I'm still tanning up town, whilst I wait on DH to run the line. DH has been sick and now he's still sick and working 12 hour nights, so it will probably be a little while before he gets time to do it. I can tan at the salon until the 18th and I will tan there until my time is up, even if he gets the line in before then, since it's already paid for I might as well use their bulbs and their electricity! DH didn't get another month. It was him that wanted the tanning booth so bad anyway since he didn't have time to go when he was working 12 hour nights. Hopefully we will have it up and running before my month is up.

Oh, and thanks for the "you look young"! Sis is 22....you can do the math.....DH keeps telling me that we are getting old, but I tell him, "NO, I'm not getting old!"

there's a place in downtown chicago where you can earn lots free money for just lying around.
it's located by the second street light on the corner by the train.....

And you know so much about this how.... :confused3

Are the alleys at least well-lit? And is there a market for men lying around too? It'd be nice if Mike could bring in his fair share ....

Well...he should...you are a "team" in this crazy ride called "life".... :thumbsup2

Hey, all, a slight favor please. When the thread gets near or at the 250 page, it needs to be locked. So if it gets close to that, let Mac know so she can start up a new thread with the new link. Then if someone would send me a PM so I can lock the old thread, I would appreciate it. I'm not always paying as close attention as I should on this thread. I figure it's a free-for-all anyway here. ;)

After typing this, it reminded me of the old Andy Griffith show where Otis, the town drunk, just locks himself up at night in the jail. :)

::yes:: Ya got that right....anything goes around here.... :rotfl2:

Mac already warned us that we needed to start packing. We've been making a wish list for our new home for a couple of days.

Only thing on my wishlist is: private bathroom and I'm bringing my waterbed :teeth:

off to check out ebay for the tanning stuff;) i rarely use the stuff anyway...i've experimented (one leg with lotion, one without-cannot tell the difference other than one is softer:confused3 ; yet still i buy it:laughing: )...no tingle, tried it once & got a pin-point rash for a few hours (or is that normal)?

mac - what flavour cake did we miss? Did the miss like her ring?popcorn::

i've spent all "my" money; now i leech off DH:3dglasses

see ya tomorrow!

I'm probably ready for some "tingle" stuff if that's the way it works.

I think only on my arms and legs though, I seem to be so much darker on the rest of my body than on my arms and legs :confused3.

Will comment on more when I ketchup to this page....but, do a test spot using the tingle first.... If you do an entire arm and/or an entire leg, and you're not dark enough for it yet...uh, you might be a little 'uncomfortable'....instead, (do what I do), just put some on an area to test it to make sure the skin is dark enough. If no tingle, you can spread it all over...if a little hot, don't go all over yet....."test spot" first :thumbsup2 Good luck!
