SoHappy-Yea for the boy post! You should be proud of them. Cute, cute! I especially get all warm & fuzzy over little brother photos, since I too have two little boys!! Just came from my little one's Kindergarten grad party also. How do they grow sooo fast? Sniffff!
Jhammy-your crown applique is perfect!! Would never consider you a novice, it looks great!! Love the tab shorts with the light blue Disney World top! Congrats on the DLR hotel!! We're going in Dec., but staying at a Good Neighbor Hotel for the 1st time. We love the DLR Hotel!!
Anyone who appliques with Meltler thread, need a little help here.
I'm working on finishing up my Cinderella/I Love Lucy apron. The Metler thread is being a little more than un-cooperative !! I don't know if it's the skinny long shape of the thread cone or what. It jumps around on the machine's spool & is hard to load bobbin thread from. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice.
Which type of Mettler thread? They have several!
In general, a thread net probably would help keep the thread on the spool. You should use matching regular sewing thread in the bobbin. And you may need to use a specialty needle--possibly embroidery or metal (for metallic thread).
Good Morning Everyone! Tried to catch up reading this morning...been busy with the husband being off work and all...not really...just went to Charlotte yesterday to exchange a necklace he gave me then got caught in a traffic jam on the interstate! Blew an entire day sitting in the car.
So...panic has set in....4 weeks 2 days....actually just four weeks because I must pack and take my FIL to the nursing home...oh no...that makes me really lose another day to get all of the paperwork done ! DH says he "might" take an extra day off to help me move HIS Dad! If he doesn't ...picture it...me, three kids (ready to go to WDW) a TV, oxygen machine, oxygen bottles, luggage, a walker, and lord only knows what else he wants to bring...and he says he "might" take the day off!
Done with my rant now!
Oh...the panic...must sew...I only have how many more pairs of shorts? EEEEERRRR...
I did however get excited that I found out in my box of stuff for my 1950's Singer that there is a ruffler!!! Now, I have to figure out how to use it! Doesn't seem too hard...
Anyway...beautiful outfits...love all the crowns with the pettis...really wish my DD would wear one...darn it she is growing up too fast...said that before haven't I?
about the ruffler! I have my mother's 1946 Singer machine (in cabinet) with the accessories. It has a ruffler, too. Haven't tried it yet--I'm not a ruffles gal! But I'm going to try to turn Abi into one! *LOL*
How silly am I? I got the sewing machine last night and looked over the booklet. Now I am scared to take the thing out of the box and set it up! My mom is gone for the weekend so I said I would try my hand at setting it up and start in on the criss cross dress from YCMT. Now if only I can get my nerve up to do it!
Procrastination time is over! Haul out your scraps, set up that wonderful new machine and start practicing!
You can do it!
