Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

I just went to check on the GWoP blog, and it says it was shut down for violations. Same for Penn Mommy's blog. Wonder what is going on???

There was some administrative error at GWoP, I've been told. One of the site administrators wanted to change her name and there was a glitch? I don't know if that's true for the Penn Mommy blog or not.

It's probably been asked before (but I don't feel like huntin' for it) but WHY do they need a new house? What's wrong with the one they're in? Didn't they just spend (like within the last 18 mos or so) a buttload of cash (theirs or the network's) to remodel the garage and a portion of the attic for Madie/Cara's room? And didn't they just get new carpet? :confused3

I am seriously confused. It seems to me the house they are living in is just fine for their needs. But I am not Kate, so what do I know?:confused3

those are good points and valid questions.

It has been mentioned (setting up the scenario for the new house?) by JK8 that they want to live somewhere warmer. There is a great deal of speculation that they will move to a house closer to the production company's headquarters.

I read that Penn Mommy's son is quite ill and she decided to give up the blog for now, so she removed it. Link below.

I had stopped reading over at GWoP a long time ago. To hear it was shut down is a wonderful thing. It was a vile place with some sick people.

Thanks (I think - because honestly, its so sad, that so many people are so into the TV show, and then the reality ... a sick child... so sad...)

you know what is sad? I went to the Gosselins Do Not need Our Pity blog (I don't think I've even heard of that one before?) to see what was posted about Penn Mommy. The same people that accuse people of bashing JK8 are posting horrendous nastiness about this Penn Mommy? OMG. This whole thing - both sides - is a train wreck. Wow.

Upon further reading, in addition to a ill child, it sounds like Penn Mommy is sorely regretting ever posting anything about Jon & Kate. I think this post (see below) shows what we have come to the conclusion over here (collectively, not necessarily indivdually ;) ) that there is likely some truth in what Penn Mommy and others have posted about JK8. But at the same time, there is a small group of people filled with such hatred that they will go to great lengths to spread their message.

I didn't start this blog as a public blog. Anyone who read my first four posts knows that. I am tired of having my words twisted and misconstrued by people who WANT to be pissed off. But, they are right. This isn't the right way to do this. I got frustrated and said something I regret talking about...not because it was the wrong thing to do, but because I got goaded into talking about it by someone who has about, by my count, thirteen identities. I do not like the manner in which I communicate with some of you. And, I realize that it doesn't matter what the truth is or how much/how little information I give. There will always be someone to find fault with it. I've been, in one thread, accused of giving too much information AND teasing people by remaining vague and protective of personal details. My husband and son asked me to stop keeping this blog. I think they're right.

There's a lot of info at this GDNNOP blog. I hope to have time to look at it later ... but right now I have a Disney trip to pack for :cool1:

Thanks madge. :) I can totally understand wanting to live somewhere warmer. I'm from the South and the few times I've been up North during the winter I could not WAIT to get back home.:rotfl: I couldn't imagine having to be stuck inside for months and months on end because it was too cold to go out. Ugh.

And since somebody mentioned the sixpack are now in preschool...I thought that Kate had decided she wanted to homeschool them for preschool?:confused3 And I'm kind of curious how they are split up..three and three or two and two and two or (heaven forbid) all six in one class? Is it a regular pre-K or a church pre-K? Halfday or whole day? How do they stack up against "normal" 4 year olds?

I AM SO FREAKING CURIOUS!:rotfl:

One of the reasons I"ve become addicted to JK8 is because, like me, they have 4 year old kids and I'm always curious about how other people raise their kids, where their kids are at developmentally, etc compared to DS. Not so I can say "Oh..DS is better than your kid because he can do X." but so I can kind of gauge where his peers are at and how far we still have to go with him (he's had some developmental delays as well as a few slight physical ones).

according to the article, they are in 1/2days in the afternoon, 3 days a week

That's cool...so they get exposure to other kids their age, which is always a good thing. :)

Kate is probably nervous having them go to Pre-K even if is only half days three times a week. I know I was last year when DS went to Pre-K for the first time. But he had such a good time and such a positive experience overall that by the end of the year I was really not so nervous anymore. :) I hope that the six and their parents have the same kind of experience.

did you see where it said she drives them an hour (each way) to school? they must be going to preschool at their church... it's an hour away, I think?

I drive my kids 15 minutes each way to school - I couldn't imagine driving an our each way, 3 days a week, with gas at $3.xx/gallon! It's not unheard of, though. There are people in my area that do, though. There's no Catholic high school here, and people drive their children to Louisville to schools there.

That would be way too long of a drive for preschoolers. Maybe the church is giving the kids a scholarship and that makes it worth it for her to drive all the way there.

Here's the article. It really doesn't go into details about th preschool.
IMHO there just isn't enough info.
Maybe they already moved, maybe it is at the school the twins attend, etc. Just too many "what ifs"

ETA: looks like the GWoP gang hit the comments hard. Wow, as usual they are ripping apart and making wild acusations agaisnt anyone who says anything positive about Kate or the family, show etc.

Maybe to her, if the school is good, it's worth driving an hour each way?
We only live five minutes from DS's preschool and sometimes even though it's so close, traffic makes it more like 20.

I've gotten to the point where I don't read comments on articles - there's not much point. They all say the same. On both sides. LOL.

Agreed. I'm starting to think some people just have their comments in a document to copy and paste.

I personally wouldn't drive 6, 4 year old's an hour each way 3 times a week, but if she wants to do it, more power to her. I used to drive an hour each way pulling a horse trailer after work in the evening so I could take my DD15 to her horseback riding lesson. Yes, there were closer barns, but they weren't of the same quality so I sucked it up and drove it. Maybe she REALLY likes the preschool. I would think she would get bored waiting for them while they were in school, but who knows...not me.

Yep.....but I think I find the total Kate bashers a little more disturbing since they seem to have such burning hatred for someone they don't even know!!

I know they aren't perfect and there are issues behind the scenes, but heck, I know some families who aren't on tv with alot of behind the scenes issues too!

Like I said before, I just watch the show on Monday night, enjoy it and move on with my life!! :thumbsup2

I don't know about that. The sheeple are pretty much doing the same thing. Blindly devoted to a personality that's been edited for TV.

Can anyone here think of a TV show that has created such ruckus? I'm 40 and not sure that I can.
