I just got off of the phone with Linnette and she checked herself back into the hospital today. She has been doing things that she is not supposed to be doing (laundry, grocery shopping). The doctor is trying to get her to agree to do the surgery, but she is not ready to have it done. Please say prayers for her that the pain will stop and her sons and DH will start helping her do the things that she is not supposed to be doing.

I was wondering why she hadn't posted in a long time and now we all know. I sure do wish her family would help her out more. Please let her know she is my prayers and I hope she gets some relief from the pain soon.

I went to city with my serger yesterday. It was pure ice on the roads for the first 30 miles then got better all the way in. I have not been to city by myself since the accident and it was ok. I was more scared then anything else and ended up crying once. I gave my machine to the Bill the repair guy and he called a few hours later and said to leave the city if I wanted, it would not be ready. So I went to wal-mart and bought a cheap serger. On the way out I thought to just stop into the repair store and guess what??? He fixed it!!!! And he didn't charge me for the repair. I would gladly paid but he said no. So I am now back on to sewing Christmas jammies.

Have a great day.

love it. can i come play in the snow?

Um, yeah, I have this really fun snow toy...called a shovel...:rolleyes1 The weather this morning said my area got 12" of snow yesterday :sad2:

I have friends leaving in the morning for Disneyland. I did these today:

I also am ALMOST finished with Sleeping Beauty and Briar Rose costumes for them to wear to a princess lunch. Bodices are complete - I just need to gather and attach skirts, velcro strip the back, and hem.

so...it's 11:45pm. I'm up for at least a couple of hours more. Is it too late to drink coffee??

Very cute!

Tom must have been really excited about the Prince Charming outfit because he sent his deposit right away! I finished his outfit and shipped it out next day air. He had Leighanna snap a few pictures of him modeling. I think he looks quite dapper. He even found some lime green converse!!

tomlimegreenshoesprincecharming_216.jpg

Great custom Heather! It looks a lot like the one you made for Sawyer! Tom looks great in it! :lmao:

OMG!! What a STUD!!!! Tom.... your wife is one lucky girl! I'm diggin' the high tops dude! You ROCK!! :lmao:

OK....... I'm just waiting to see what Heather does with me now......:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I don't know, but I'm sure it involves a simba shirt and a fanny pack...

For those of you who have made jammies for your kiddos..what pattern did you use - for both boys and girls? I bought a bunch of flannels a long time ago, and am thinking that I need to start making something with them!

Thanks :) I am excited I called and reserved the RED room at Kids Station! Trying to not get to excited just in case she is not here anymore lol.

I am actually loving it! They could leave the ones I have now here and go away and I would be fine lol. :goodvibes Plus my 4 month old pretty much sleeps through the night! YEAH Bug! :woohoo:

Thanks I am going to go check it out! :)

Thanks I have missed you guys. I think we are finally starting to get into a groove and I might could start coming to see you guys again at least once every few days!!!! Now if I could just get it in gear enough to finish the nursery lmao.

Absolutely PRECIOUS! The outfit is pretty cute too! :goodvibes

MsMckenna - I've wondered how you have been! I love it that 4 month olds sleep through the night! Lilly started about a month ago and it is heaven! Even while we were in Disney she only was waking up once at about 5:00 am so I really can't complain! I hope you get to have a first b-day for your little angel. I truly think you must be an angel here on Earth to these children. How lucky are they to have someone who cares so much for them. I really admire you!

I was coming over to post about the code rumors.

This is what the current rumor is (but keep on eye on the Resorts boards for more up to date info).

Wow, now I really want to book another trip but my baby will be at a bad age and I don't have the money. Why does reality keep getting in the way of Disney?

Tom, you look so handsome I couldn't even bring myself to minimize this! Fantastic job Heather!

Don't mean to rub it in Jeanne but it was 80 here yesterday in Dallas and we got a cold front that blew in yesterday so it will only be 73 and sunny today!!!

Nikki's dermatology appointment
Is not until 12/11 but at least it is made!

I've got to make one for myself but I keep putting it off. I've got a funny spot on my arm that looks like a bug bite with a scab and everything that has been there since July. Nothing like procrastinating! My Ob/Gyn thought it wasn't probably a big deal (which is why I'm not making it a priority - shame on me!!!) but they would probably do a biopsy in the dermatologist office. Okay, now I'm going to get off and go schedule an appointment. You're my inspiration!

Jhammers.... you had me laughin' out loud on that one! As long as it's a PINK fanny pack to match my pink boa.... I'm jiggy wit' it! :lmao: :lmao:

Hi Everyone,

That felt food looks soooo yummy~!! Is there a tutorial around?

Thanks!!

I used kinda made it up as I went, but there are some tutorials on Craftster that I posted a week or so ago. Teresa probably has added them to the bookmarks. She's good that way.

For those of you who have made jammies for your kiddos..what pattern did you use - for both boys and girls? I bought a bunch of flannels a long time ago, and am thinking that I need to start making something with them!

My favorite that I have ever used is Simplicity 9968. I have almost worn the pattern out I've made it so much & I'm very said the Ash is too big for it now. :guilty:

I just use easy fit pants and then get a tee shirt and if I'm motivated I'll put an easy applique on the tee from the pants flannel.

Well you'll HAVE to wear your boa so we can all recognize you instantly.

I just sat down and made a list of all the things I need to do before Christmas. Here it is:

- Make 3 eye spy books
- Make a building block nativity set... this is so DARN CUTE! (for Henry)
- Finish Henry's Scrapbook for my DD for Christmas (Actually has to be done by Thanksgiving)
- Design a couple of picture frames for Christmas gifts
- Design, cut and apply a vinyl word design for my kitchen wall
- Make a Big Wish Scrapbook
- Make 4 signs with inspirational messages on them for house decorations (gifts)
- Put the garland together for the railings in the house- this will take FOREVER!
- Add to the snowman tree and set it up
- Decorate the house for Christmas before Thanksgiving (ALL the kids will all be here for Thanksgiving, but not Christmas- so we're having it early!) This includes setting up the main tree, Snowman tree, mantle, stair railings, little trees in the rooms...... I go all out and LOVE it when it's all done
- Shop for Christmas Gifts
- Wrap gifts
- Paint Powder room
- Paint Ceiling in DR
- Paint closet in the MBR
- Clean the garage
- Clean the basement and set up extra bed down there
- Switch 2 bedrooms around
- Put lights up outside
- Teach a craft class - 12 women making wood signs
- Teach my Sunday School class every week
- Prepare a nice luncheon for my good friends for Christmas
- Participate in a cookie exchange
- And various other things like preparing Thanksgiving meal etc.

So..... now that you've read through the list- how many do you think I'll actually get done before Thanksgiving is here??

I need encouragement- so I'm adding one more thing to the list....

Making a prize for my contest!

I have 1 month to get all this done. If you guess how many things I can get done in that time, and which things they are you will win a prize!
The person with the closet guess- wins! It will be sent out AFTER the month is over. Can't tell you what it is yet, but will in the next few days.

OK- go to it! What do you think I am capable of doing? Huh?!?!?!?

I have been using two patterns and kinda making adjustments as I want.
McCalls M5217 and Simplicity 3577. The simplicity is for the entire family, boys/girls, men/women. It was way too big for my 5 yr old! I am having fun making jammies because I don't have girls so there is little I can make for the boys.

Afterthought,

While dropping off the serger I looked at the Jarome embroidery machines. Wow, they were fancy and beautiful. But they cost the price of down payment on a house. :scared1: or a nice used car. I then asked do they do Disney....no, only Brother which costs 1/10 of the price of the Jarome.

Blessings to all that own one of these very sweet machines. They are so beautiful.

Tom !! you changed your siggie to Thanksgiving! Good for you! (But I miss the cute Christmas one) :santa:

Thanks..I am going to put that on my list of patterns to get.

What a great idea...that will be perfect, especially for ds! DD wants some girly night gowns.

Um, yeah, I have this really fun snow toy...called a shovel...:rolleyes1 The weather this morning said my area got 12" of snow yesterday :sad2:

i promise i will help with the shovelling, i live in ny so we get snow but usually not till january and i am the official shoveller. yet another job my hubby manages to avoid.

For those of you who have made jammies for your kiddos..what pattern did you use - for both boys and girls? I bought a bunch of flannels a long time ago, and am thinking that I need to start making something with them!
I have made them with Carla's easy fit pants and I was thinking for Xmass making pj's with the easy fit pants and the bowling shirt and making the shirt long sleeves.

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! I might even make one for me too to be safe. I have a few marks I probably should get checked.

I say 75%! I would say more but the whole paint the closet and clean the garage have been on my list for YEARS!:rotfl:

Thanks! I have become a blog junkie, so I though I would have a go at it too!
Get yours going, I would love to read yours too!
I just read it and I can't wait to read more!

I have to start this post......I am in awe of all of you! You are such a wonderful and talented group!!! I cannot sew to save my life. I have an amazing Disney Brother sewing and embroidery machine that looks nice, but not a clue how to use. They do offer classes here, but not on how to work the embroidery part of my machine *sigh* So i am kind of stuck on that part. Main reason i am posting now. I am going to attempt to sew an outfit for my DD3, we are going on a disney cruise and i want to make her a pirate outfit and at least 2 dresses. If i have time, i will make a pirate outfit for me. Is this possible?!? Can anyone suggest any simple, like really simple pirate costume patterns for toddlers and woman? Any cute but simple girls dress patterns? Any help with anything would be greatly appreciated. We leave for the cruise on Dec. 5. :lovestruc

Alas, you will probably just have to change the bobbin to match your top thread. Some machines pull the bobbin through more than others. Maybe lessening your tension might work, but I really try not to mess w/ mine:laughing:
GOOD LUCK!!

That T is fast! She already answered you! But, I wanted to tell you that I couldn't use bobbin thread on my brother, it would always pull to the top. So, I used thread that matched my top thread. It was kind of a pain because I had to change both the top and bobbin thread whenever I changed colors!

I usually use white or black. Sometimes it starts showing up on the top. When it does it means that I have too much lint inside the bobbin case.
Sue

Adjust your tension, but like others have said, I like to leave mine alone so just use the same color bobbin thread.

Thanks for all the help guys. I was trying to use white bobbin thread, and white embroidery thread, but no matter what tension I put it on the bobbin thread would be pulled way up, to the point there was a "seam" running down the middle of my zig zag. So anyway, I just made a new bobbin and went from there. It turned out great. Embroidery thread does make a diffierence! I was sewing bridal satin on top of satin and even with stabilizer it still puckered a bit and is pretty stiff, but overall it looks great. I'll post a pick whenever I finally get finished with the dress. Hopefully some day I can get a fancy schmancy new machine like Heather and then I can just use bobbin thread!!!

Thanks again so much!!
