Yesterday when I was out I drove past a warehouse type building that said fabric outlet open to the public, I had seen it before nut never had time to stop. I had a little time so I thought I would check it out! I walked in and nearly fainted! :cloud9: I got all tingly. It was the most fabric I had ever seen!! I looked around and found some fabrics I had never seen before. They had chip and dale cotton knit, Incredibles flannel, some many my wallet was spinning!! There were many I had seen before and wish I had boughten and then never seen again! You cut everything yourself and then put it back. AND it is all cheap like $2.50 to $3.50 a yard!! It's like a treasure hunt!! Any way I got out there for under $50, I was proud of my self for showing such restraint!! :rolleyes1 I can take pictures if anyone is interested ;)

it comes in white, black, pink, red, black with pink bottom and black with red bottom. it is 2 layers but it will work for underneath something on mia. if anyone is interested it is a 22" unstretched elastic waist, and pretty short about 12". kinda fun for dress up. i am just going to open the top cut and resew elastic to make it fit.

Your daughter is so cute! I love your skirt fabrics together. Those glasses are the perfect touch.

Yesterday's project! Jeanne this is a GREAT one for you to CASE!

That is unbelieveable! Was that digitalized? Please say it was. And if it was, was it all embroidery or applique? The detail is so tiny.

My neighbor found out she had cancer right after her little girl was born. She had had it as a teenager, but it came back. One of the scary things about it was that it was a cancer that could be passed through the placenta to the baby, so not only did she have herself to worry about, but her baby too. She fought really hard for over a year, but it was a very agressive cancer and she died last year.

That is so sad. I've lost so many loved ones to cancer. I hate cancer.

Well of course we want to see your new treasures!

Okay I have figured out that I need to get either a Singer or a Brother, however, I have come across a few "computerized" machines, and I am wondering if I should get one of those (as they have been on sale/clearanced) , and they are not much more than the basic machines that do not have this. Would the computerized be easier for me to use?

I am just so out of my element and don't know what I should be looking for. If it helps, the last time that I tried sewing something was in 8th grade home economics class...my final project went like this..

Me "Mom , I made this for you"

Mom "Oh..sweetheart, it's a little stuffed animal, a monster right?"

Me " No, it's a throw pillow for your bed"

Thus ended my adventures in sewing....

HELP!!!

I love that! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I would get the computerized one.

I bet you will suprise yourself with what you can make now though!

Hi everyone! I've resurfaced from lurkdom because I've really missed some of you and was hoping to get reaquainted. I've loved looking at all of the outfits you've created. It's been so much fun and rewarding to see everybody share their interests and talents. My family just got back from a Christmas vacation to Disneyland, and I wanted to share some of the outfits I created for my sons and daughter for our trip.

**ETA: Okay, the swirlies had to go. They were driving me batty too.

ok ok you twisted my arm :rotfl2: I'll post pictures in a bit we're gonna go outside and play. It's a whopping 16 degrees today!! We're supposed to be going into the deep freeze this week with temps barely getting above zero! So we're gonna play while we can!

Oh and I have a cricut tip!!
My mats were very unsticky so I googled and found that you can clean them with a baby wipe and that worked pretty good. Then my dh said why don't you wash them so we tried that and then blow dried it and WOW they are like new!!

Did you wash them with soap, or just water?

HELP!!!

Your home-ec experience kind of sounds like mine!

I would definitely get a computerized machine if you can afford it. Like you said there usually isn't that big of a difference in price. And if you ever want to try and applique, I think it would be much easier to have the computerized machine where you can see your stitch length and width numbers than trying to turn a dial. Sorry if this confuses you but if you stick around on this thread it will all eventually, magically make sense! And ask questions if you need help.

Your outfits are beautiful! Great job!

I'm hogging posts here again!

I forgot to say thank you to everyone who answered my questions from earlier. I'm going to give it a try in a minute changing my font size.

And a few quick comments.....

I know I try and stick to the Disney Channel exclusively to completely brainwash my girls.......but Nick or Noggin (I don't remember which one now) was on earlier and they had a commercial on saying that "Olivia" (the pig - by Ian Falconer) was coming the end of January. I'm kind of excited about that. I really love the books and hope the TV series is as good.

And who here is tempted (like me) to go and buy a set of sheets from Pottery Barn Kids right now from the Dr. Seuss bedding set? I have seen the fabric that was printed but is now out of print on :wizard: and always loved it but it is too expensive. Not that these sheets are that much cheaper but I am so tempted to buy a set and make outfits for my girls. If anyone else is going to do this I have a quick question.....do you think a crib sheet would be enough if you mixed it in with other fabrics? I have 3 girls and I always tend to overbuy but this is so expensive I hate the thought of buying too much (like there is such a thing!!!).

.

You can buy Olivia themed fabric in flannel or cotton. I just made my GD a Vida with the flannel fabrics, but I did not get a pic before I gave it to her. We love that pig, too!

My goodness, I've gotten really rusty at posting. I can't seem to get all of my pics the same size and I've got a ton of double posts. Sorry! Hopefully this gets a bit easier with time. Anway, here's a few more. Okay, I promise, no swirly face this time LMBO!
