In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Amiee, happy anniversary!!! It sounds like you have come so far. :goodvibes

Low carb bread? Tell me more...

Hope that your knee feels better. I find that I am a little stiff most days lately, probably as I ramp up my workouts. I think it's normal.

Just wait until MOnday, I already warned my boss I will need a crane to get out of my chair!!

Nancy, I am continually amazed that you can do your job and stay on plan!! For me and this no sugar thing I think I would die on the spot.

Okay, challenge checkin:
1) 1200-1500 cals. Check, was at or under 1200 every day, and at or under 20g carbs and most/all of that was from plant fiber or cheese/eggs.
2) Exercise. Mon/Thurs/Fri/Sat hockey, Tue kickboxing. 5/5 and probably about 250-300 min total. Check
3) Water. At or over 64 oz every day. Check
4) Alcohol, none. :headache: Check

And, I weighed in this morning (although Sun is the official week), and was down another 3.2 lbs. So that is down almost 8 lbs in less than two weeks! I guess this is working.

Kat - can't wait to hear all about the hockey tournament on Monday.

down another 3.2 pounds. Unfreaking believable... You go girl!!!! :worship:

Glad that you said that. Not sure if I was crazy in not liking it as well. Bella alos reminded me a bit of Lindsay Lohan for some reason and it was driving me nuts.

Food for yesterday -

Lunch - 1/2 cheese burger on ciabatta bun - 5 points
Fruit (2 slices of pineapple, 3/4 of an orange, 2 slices each of cannelope and honeydew mellon) 0 points

Dinner -

There is no nutrition info for most so I posted what I could find that came close...

An Italian bread so good it should be named after a car mechanical fix - 10 points

Tuscan salad:
Descripton was:
A fresh blend of tomato, cucumber, red pepper, romaine lettuce, red onion, capers, Italian parsley, fresh basil, toasted pine nuts, plumped curants and herb roasted croutons tossed with a citrus vinaigrette. Topped with imported Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. No clue on points - split with Dan and I had 1/4 of the salad - brought the rest home.

Then we ordered a pasta dish which was Riggatoni and sausage in a cream sauce with a hint of bacon and peas. Could not find the description of this.
No clue on points either - Dan and I split this also and we each only ate 1/4 of the plate and brought the rest home.

Fudge - 4 points

Although I am not sure of points - I feel really good. We ordered to share and only ate 1/2 of the salad and pasta between us.

I think if we do the Italian themed wedding in WDW - our reception back here would be catered by this restaurant.

Plus - we walked to the restraunt and back and that was great. Not exactly the BL 5 mile each way Subway run, but 2 miles round trip.

k - off to work on taxes while Dan works today.:surfweb:

Dawn- thanks for making me hungry with that dinner description from yesterday... I think what you had was a variation on carbonara sauce. The peas and bacon are typical of that kind of sauce. I should warn you - the number of points for that type of sauce will likely be high since it is right up there with alfredo sauce in terms of fat content. But you do need to splurge every once and while and kudos for doing it in moderation.

Question for all of you WW's folks - fruit has no points in WW land?
I didn't realize that. I have to count it in JC land and am limited to 2 or 3 servings per day which isn't much (1/2 cup is a typical serving). Again, just curious to see how each plan works. You know me = knowledge is power.

Whoops Challenge results -

Exercise - bang on
Celebrating where I'm at and my success - good
Consciously eating - off

And with the third I'm not freaking. Who knows where these choices will take me - maintain, loss or gain. But I simply don't care. It's so weird. I'm not giving up at all. Still on track. But really loving the appreciating the now. Knowing that now is pretty darn good. Strange but lovely.

New week on the eating consciously.

Amiee! Lovely on you looking at where you've been and where you are. Yeah.

And thanks for the facebook talk down. :lmao: I don't think I'll ever get on. But who knows. None of my friends are on. (besides some of you of course) Well, not that I know of but I'm sure it would come up in some conversation.

If you come to Vero Beach and are driving, let me know! At the very least I can come over to I-95 (it's maybe 40 min) and meet you and Jean for coffee or something.

Roddy works 10 hour days 4 days a week and is off Fri-Sun, so I think you will see more of him on weekends. :)

Hi!! :flower3:

Will do Kat. So sweet of you. Don't know yet flying or driving but will let you know. And we should pass by you in the day time. Ah crap probably work hours. No! It's a Saturday. :woohoo:

We fight about it. I adore our driving route. Adore it. It's the 79/WV19/77/26/95. I know you know it because of Pittsburgh. It's touches my soul. Really folks - not being dramatic it touches my soul. That ride down into NC from VA and WV - oh God how I love it. I adore West Virginia.

Paula. Fruit has points. OMG yes. Not a lot, but yes, points.

Most raw veggies have no points - mixed greens, carrots, etc. Cooked have points. It's just basic chemistry. Cooking changes food, but you knew that.

Basically, if it's under 50 calories and has no fat and some fiber, it's 0 pts. That is a very simplified explanation.

I can tell you various fruit points if you care!

Liz - as you can see I meant Lyz on that post. Whoops on confusion. She wants to see the US Hockey in Vancouver and I was questioning putting herself through another loss. :lmao: Mukluks - we're back to mukluks Cutie? That's the best you got?

Liz - that is a really lovely about your Mom. To see some a lovely part of a draining whole. It's the truth. Most do not get the chance to ever be "real".

I have that with my parents. And I am thankful. My siblings don't. And I am sad for them. Truly. I have it because I had to work through a lot with them. Chose to. And with my mother's decline I am thankful for every moment left. I actually am "happy" to have one of them pass away because I don't want them to experience it together.

I am going to Vero Beach soon. And I'm trying to get them a few days with no avail. They will come and be in our inn room if not. We got them AKV Savannah view last March Break. They were like teenagers with that room. My father was always talking and yelling at his giraffes. Yelling cause THEY chose not to visit HIM every day. :rotfl: When we got there my mom ran over to show me her check off sheet and how many animals she had seen already. We had a very busy and very rushed - just not a vacation. We had our other family - Jean's family visiting too. But wouldn't take it back for anything despite feeling overstimulated. Never. And this year if I can nab anything - even a Beach Cottage for two -last minute cancellation ( DVC guys I have gotten some real gems at the open season under seven days) I will use all my 2010 points to do this. Two days of Beach Cottage will take the rest of my points - too funny. You can't get time back. So important.

Erika - thank you so much with your sweet words to me. Thank you. Are you really 40? I'm confused.

Cammie - I smiled. So lovely. So talented. Photography was everything to me once upon a time. Sighing. I left it somewhere. Sucks. Must pick it back up. Pompous of me but I loved that I caught her talent not even knowing about her talent or that she took your race pics.

Where's Roddy?

Stacey - Stacey I didn't know there was a crash in Buffalo. What happened? I adore the Buffalo airport. Will never fly out of TO again. I send clients there as well. It's so easy to get in and out. That's sad. Fatal?

Congrats on your loss.

Where is Steph? Steph miss you.

Nancy - a race!!!!! 50 miles I'm so pumped. Good for you. Oh and to mention college ball. Jean LIVES for March Madness.

I'm fine. It goes for a couple of hours - that's it. It was a lovely moment to think that I can not have all this. That's a good thing. I forgot it's been so long.

Sarah - do you weigh yourself every day? Why? Congrats on your loss. No, you shouldn't be yapping on a 3.2 week.

Ronda - glad I made you laugh on the jock question. Watch out though - Erika is always recruiting.

Erika - pretty good news with the PT and docs, eh? Nice on their write up. Loved that. Still frustrating I'm sure to have limitations. But good news.

Lyz - so sorry I missed the Erika pic.

Lisa - congrats on your loss as well.

Hi to everyone.

I do weigh everyday because I like to see my progress and it honestly keeps me in check. If I say I weigh only on Friday my mind says its ok to be bad on Monday since I have until Friday to weigh. Just my way of keeping myself good. I am trying hard not to have a "cheat" night this week since San Diego will be a cheat weekend. But honestly... Pizza Hut is calling... No idea why but I am craaaaving pizza and I can't just eat 1 slice. I am not that good. LOL!

Kat and Paula! AWESOME on the losses! :cool1: Goddess crowns, both!

And Lisa! Sounds like you are doing great! So happy for you! And Vero. Love Vero. When? For how long? More info. needed.

Paula--I know that these week-ends are a big challenge for you, so stay tough! Channel Jesse. No need to sabotage all of that a$$-kicking, right?

And YES, fruit definitely has points on WW. Oh, how I wish it didn't. :rotfl: But it so does.

Liz--please post an update when your friend is out of surgery.

Glad you liked the decription Paula. :) The salad was grat and I ate that first and asked them to wait 1/2 an hour before bringing the pasta so my stomach could realize how hungry it was not my head.

I just realized in editing I cut out the 5 baby carrots which were 0 -

fruit I had does have points -
Liz - how much for
3/4 of a small orange, 2 rings of pineapple (fresh), 2 - 4 inch long by 2 inch high each cannelope and honeydew?

Forgot the book at home with breakdown of fruit and since I was not sure I was going back to WW have not reenterred onto the online program. I am guessing less than 5 points.

Portion of salad was about 1 1/2 - 2 cups best guess and pasta lwas about 1 cup.

I added that much points to the bread since it was made with olive oil added and we had olive oil dipping sauce. What I found on line was a sourdough bread nutrition since the waitress said it was the most similar to the starter they used. Bread made fresh daily.

I still think with 10 points for pasta, 10 for bread, 2 for salad, 4 for fudge, 5 for hamburger and 4 for fruit...I did well. roughly 35 points and I usually have 32. Hard to eat out and know exacts at many places but not adding pop or alcohol is helping.

Water only.

What is the extra point allotment a week anyway? Dan thought it was 30 or 35 points. I thought that was a bit high but I am not good at remembering numbers.

Lisa V - when are you heading to Vero? Dan and I will be in WDW in a week and a half for our wedding planning sessions. Need to look at some places locally as well.

Liz - thanks for the info... that was really all I needed. It was more curiousity than anything else.

Sarah - I do the same thing. I hop on that scale every day. I am not obsessive about it because what it is it is, but it keeps me in check so I don't get too out of control. Enjoy that pizza.... Plan it, track it, own it, but the important thing is to enjoy it.

Glad you liked the decription Paula. :) The salad was grat and I ate that first and asked them to wait 1/2 an hour before bringing the pasta so my stomach could realize how hungry it was not my head.

What a great idea... That is something I haven't done yet. I tend to scarf down my food pretty quickly. Need to work on that.

Thanks E... I will be channeling you all and Jesse. It does help to keep me focused knowing that I am accountable to you all.

Liz -please let us know when you hear something about your friend. Sending you hugs, good vibes and prayers...:goodvibes

I love that route too!

You won't pass too close by me, though, since 77 goes through Winston-Salem which is about 1.5 hours west. Maybe we can work something out where you go a bit east and I go west, if Jean is okay with it. Saturdays are easy for me to break free most of the time, too, esp with notice.

Paula. Fruit has points. OMG yes. Not a lot, but yes, points.

I care!!!

Paula - thanks for highlighting Kat's loss. I somehow missed it.

Kat! Outflppinstanding! Way to go. :dance3:

Kat - can't wait to hear all about the hockey tournament on Monday.

down another 3.2 pounds. Unfreaking believable... You go girl!!!! :worship:

Kat and Paula! AWESOME on the losses! :cool1: Goddess crowns, both!

Thanks! I am not sure I deserve a goddess crown considering my re-starting point. I am not focussing on the actual loss, it is just a bonus. I am mostly wanting to go back to the "on" lifestyle where I eat and exercise consciously and not just shove everything in my mouth. I need to track for a while and then when I get into maintenance mode (hopefully by the end of the summer), I want to go to a "Lisa" lifestyle where I watch portions and such and only eat what I love, and exercise like crazy.

I am hoping my year or two of tracking will help me once I get there to have a better idea of what is good, bad, what subsititions I can make and like them, and what I am better off eating as-is and just limiting portion sizes.

I will definitely update on the tournament as the weekend progresses. I may not be around the thread much but I will read via phone and maybe check in w/ Liz/E via text and they can update y'all. Btw, I love you all for caring about this. It means a lot to me. :goodvibes:

Sometimes I am obsessive about the scale and sometimes not. Depends on the week. This week I've made progress however, I have been the same and I am not upset about it. That is huge for me! I am making pasta tonight so maybe that will quell my pizza craving... Gotta love shiritaki noodles :)

Kat!!!

I was so excited about seeing you I wasn't even thinking. I know my route like in my sleep and we don't even go over to the 95 until South Carolina, as you know, until we turn at Columbia. Forgot to think.

I'm laughing about Jean. :lmao: No worries there. She has no idea how she gets from Buffalo to WDW (or Vero). She is truly guided even after the tenth time on the same route!!!!

So I have to go look at a map. But obviously I would have to scoot over before Charlotte - obviously.

I'll check things out. I so want to do it Kat. But no promises because of the short time frame. And I do have my radio station in Charlotte and adore a certain Lake Norman rest stop!!!:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: Yes, it's like I own my route. See I'm the problem being stubborn about my route. I'm the problem Kat not Jean.

Erika, I am psyched if it works out. VB is my last DVC to visit - Yeah :woohoo: gosh it's like I'm on the Amazing Race - DVC edition - until GC and Hawaii gets built. I have an ocean view room and thought I had to give it up and then Jean got her job so hopefully. It's just gas and food. Last year we slept at a WV rest stop with hats, mittens and many blankets. And I pricelined "name your own price" further down in Columbia. I am thrilled to be at Vero. Have had it in my thoughts for years and has never worked out. Tell me about your trip there.

It's March 15-20 at Vero. Five days. But adore the drive in the school break - March break we call it. It's like you are searching for Spring.Trying to kiss it. So adore the drive. Another layer comes off. It's like a PG strip show. :lmao: :rotfl:

If we do fly - I will not fly out of Buffalo. Could never afford the prices at this point. They know we are all coming for that week and it goes up and up. You have to grab early.

I might fly out of your Pittsburgh. I can be out at the airport in 4.5 if the price is right.

I'm too honest. Jean will jump to fly if I find something. And of course I scan for her even though I love the drive. Silly me.

Last March Break it took us eight - yes I said eight - hours just to get to Pittsburgh. It was ugly. Cars in ditches all along the 90 to Erie. We were so lucky. We got out just in time. Many were stuck at the Buffalo airport. Huge storm. So crossing my fingers for this year.

Yes I'm rambling folks. I'm so flippin' excited. :dance3:

Oh Paula - so envious of your scale thoughts. I will never be there and have to accept obsessive me. Lord. Good for you though.

Sarah - whatever works for you. I was asking only because I would be a bloody basketcase.

Page 199....just sayin'.

The cleaner just left. OMG I love my house again! :rotfl2: She did a really DEEP clean. The stuff I rarely get to. And it smells so good in here.

Page 199....just sayin'.

The cleaner just left. OMG I love my house again! :rotfl2: She did a really DEEP clean. The stuff I rarely get to. And it smells so good in here.

Isn't that the BEST!!! I love it when she comes. Smells wonderful and everything is sparkly. I swear, I think that she has saved my marriage. And I mean that sincerely.

Lisa, we will see what we can work out. :goodvibes

Jean found a facebook picture that I couldn't clearly see but wanted to see, way too small, and I saved it to my computer to enlarge it. And then deleted it after I viewed it.

That happens to me sometimes -- I set up my account not too long ago, and am getting tons of requests from high school and college friends. But sometimes, when they request to be friends and have access to my account, I don't recognize the name and their picture is so small I can't tell who they are anyway. So I don't approve them....oh the power! :goodvibes

"Female patient, 39 years old, came in complaining of hamstring tenderness....blah blah medical stuff....patient is in outstanding physical condition. Triathlete. Preparing for event in 3 weeks. Treatment is blah blah medical stuff...so we can get this athlete back up and competing quickly. Due to excellent muscle tone and quality, I expect recovery to be quick in duration with no lasting effects."

That's fantastic! Proof positive (even though you didn't really need it) that you are awesome and it shows!!! :worship:

The worst thing could be that I spend a lot of time with my mom and dad and they live to be 90!

That is a great attitude! You are such a good daughter. :)

It is my anniversary of sorts today, lol. It's amazing to me how much I have grown mentally, spiritually, emotionally etc since then. I woke up feeling that I can take on the world.

I love that quote -- you are such an inspiration.

Lisa Z - It is too bad someone decided to steal Carsyn's purse, but like so many here have pointed out, economic problems and job cutbacks are affecting everyone. It is bound to happen that theft will rise in all areas of the country. It may have been a young kid in this case or in your neighborhood but the reality of the feeling of having your privacy invaded or lack of security is not fun no matter who is to blame.

I am sure that your city has many positive aspects too and we just need to focus on those. :thumbsup2

I am enjoying having you here!

Thank you so much! I am enjoying being here, checking in everyday, hearing all your stories.....it's great! :flower3:

Cammie is not me. I wish I was her, though! She is very quiet and introspective. And very grounded. Calm all the time. People are really drawn to here. Her teachers call her a silent leader. Plus, she is super crafty. Well, maybe crafty isn't the right word. Creative? Artistic? She has that creative eye and vision that I just do not have.

My daughter is the same way -- very creative and artistic. Where she came from, my husband and I have no idea!!! :rolleyes1

We got them AKV Savannah view last March Break. They were like teenagers with that room. My father was always talking and yelling at his giraffes. Yelling cause THEY chose not to visit HIM every day. :rotfl:

:lmao:

Btw, I love you all for caring about this. It means a lot to me. :goodvibes:

Have a great time! We will be your online cheering section. :yay:

Progress to goals this week:
Exercise at least 4x --- did 6 days this week
Snacking -- stayed within my 1/2 hr window, except for the weekend
Weight -- down 1.4 this week, for a total of 3 lbs so far in the challenge.

For next week, I'm going to keep doing the same, as it seems to be working. I may or may not try to keep more control on the weekend -- will play that one by ear. :rolleyes1 See ya guys!!!
