Girls Only Disneyland Trip!! Old thread. New link in first post

Oh, I almost forgot! Last night was sooooo fun. We went to see the Phantom of the Opera as I said. It was in one word..........amazing. Awesome. Spectacular. Ok, so that's several words, but really there were moments I had goosebumps. I want to see it again!!

Then from there we spent the night at one of Vegas' newest hotels, The M Resort. It was really nice. I took lots of pics to share as I know some of you travel to Vegas now and then. It's off the Strip, so you'd definitely need a car, but it is so nice I'd recommend it for someone looking to visit the whole area, not just the Strip.

It was a great night, and the morning was nice until I was rudely jerked back into reality with a phone call from the school. Adam was involved in a fight this morning. Some kid has been picking on him verbally the past 2 weeks and today he pushed Adam, so Adam pushed him back and then the other kid swung and hit him in the head.

Well, both of them are now suspended until next week and I have to meet with the dean on Monday to discuss Adam's "issues".
Apparently being an A student and defending yourself suddenly means you have issues. Whatever.

Anyway, sorry for going off like that. But last night was really nice. I'd recommend Phantom to anyone who's never seen it here.

Sounds like a fantastic time! I'd love to do something like that with my hubby.....or even take my mom as a treat for her. She loves broadway type shows and musicals.....and gambling!

By the way, I would totally be ticked off about my kid getting suspended defending himself from a bully. I hope you give the dean WHAT FOR!

Yes, she's here until Friday--I'm having dinner tonite with her, her Mom and MIchelle (ZoeMakes5) at California Pizza Kitchen at GardenWalk.



Well, not to add further confusion, but there is also this Sept. 10-13 "23" convention thingie. I did not make a reservation for Labor Day, but did for Sept. 10-13. So I have a room reserved that weekend and Beth's birthday weekend. The plan now is to stay at my place MouseAdventure weekend. We should probably be making a PS soon if we're going to have a big dinner. Otherwise I was going to make a PS for the Lilo and Stitch breakfast on Sun. morning for our two MA teams so we can meet up with the Mary Jo/Chris/Leslie/Kelly team--the Dis Divas before the event starts.

I've just spent the last two hours at the nursing home--they were going to discharge my Mom tomorrow and SHE CAN'T WALK. They had her try stairs on Monday and she hasn't been able to get out of bed since then. She is essentially worse off than when she went in.

Needless to say, (and Molly will laugh) when I got done with my "attorney voice" she is not being discharged tomorrow.

Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch makes me want to just come for the weekend & be your cheerleader

I hope none hitched a ride. I had my stuff all over my side of the room, so who knows. And everyone I tell what happened, gets itchy too.

Hi ladies,

I think I'm still getting over the weekend. I had NO motivation at work today. ugh.... so, tomorrow I'll concentrate.

Six kids were absent from my DS' class yesterday, including my DS who has a double ear infection. It's going around. Just don't let the bed bugs bite!

Oh, I hope he feels better soon! Those are painful.

I hope they change the logo so it refers to Disneyland instead of Walt Disney World. I'd want to wear something that is relevant to the event and location - just a thought.

Sorry, Mary Jo but after the ECV incident where I bruised my leg in two places there is no way you could get me on a Segway. I am too top heavy and reckless a driver. It was nice meeting you. Knowing my driving skills I would be upside down in Grizzly Rapids, lol. I do know the joy of scooters and how much fun it is to move around rapidly like on a segway.

I will be there to root you on as you finish the walk/run but no running for me. I look forwrd to meeting some of you again.

Hey, Laurie. It was nice meeting you, too. I can understand why you wouldn't want to get on a Segway. It turned out to be challenging for someone in our group, too. (Always a good idea to wait for the CM)

Mary Jo, your words are so sweet, but I think you are thinking of the other Heather. Her feet were so bad on Monday. I felt bad for her also. I hope she is doing better.

DH is home from work again today, so that I can rest. I have to start my new job tomorrow.

I got back safely on Monday afternoon after a "turbulent" ride home - to freezing cold weather and SNOW I just uploaded my PP, so you can take a look Stacie. It's been crazy busy with work since I arrived, so not a lot of time, but it's done now

To clear up any confusion, we have 3 mini meets in the works that I know of.

1. April 24-26th Several Divas will be in town for MouseAdventure on the 26th and a few others (like me) will be at DLR for other reasons such as Food & Wine festival. I believe a character meal breakfast will be planned for all those in town that weekend.

It would be nice if we could plan something for the day before.

2. Sept. 4-6th The Disneyland Half Marathon and 5k are being held on the 6th and 5th respectively. Jen (grizzbuzz) is keeping a list of who is attending/participating.

It will be fun to walk with whoever shows up.

3. Oct. 23-25th Dis Divas & Families mini meet for Halloween/Beth's birthday. If it's like last year there will likely be a girls only dinner and then a larger group attending the Mickey's Trick or Treat Party, which is a hard ticket event at DCA in the evening.

Awesome! I want to go. Lol

Beth, I'm so glad that you had a great night. I saw Phantom of the Opera back in the 90's when it was playing at the Pantages in Hollywood. It was awesome! Plus, you got to stay in a new hotel. I think that is so special.

But, what a bummer to get that phone call in the morning. Poor Adam. How to explain to someone that they might get into trouble for sticking up for themselves. What other choice did he have, "take it" and then be a target for bullies? I don't think so. Anyways, good luck.

Bed bugs. ICK! I emailed Lorealle so they can make sure they fumigate the room and stuff. My back looks horrible, and I am itching like crazy.

Thanks. I am still so itchy. I talked to the general Manager over at Hojo, and he checked out the room with maintenance, and they found no evidence of critters in there. There was already another family staying there and they have no issues either. Starting to think I may be crazy since none of my roomies have come forward to say they are itchy too.

Who knows what it is then. Heck, for all I know it could be chicken pox. I just have so many and most are on my back. Some down my legs, arms, neck, bottom and I have one for sure on my face. UGH!

I didn't go to the doctor today since I thought it was bed bug bites. And if they are that, they isn't anything the doctor can do. But now I'm thinking maybe its something else. Ack!

Linda is exactly right. I am going to call tomorrow to change our current Storyteller's ressie to L&S instead for that Sunday morning. L&S is my favorite character meal so I am excited to go there again and to see all of the Divas that will be there as well!

For some strange reason I am not in that photo which is good news as nobody has to see the cracked lens, lol. I seem to have avoided the camera a lot this weekend. the past week or two is a blur now and I am having trouble remember anything except a lady hogging the jello shots, driving donuts around a cm, and freaking out a nurse at lunch by talking about turkey legs and their tendons and dripping fat and tough hide and excuse me but I just grossed myself out.

Mary Jo you were so nice to me and put up with my neurovariations which few people can handle. You are a very nice lady and thanks for the memories. I am up for mini meets and what ever as I need to loose weight and get away from mom until her neurovariations are calmed down. Wise rumps tell me to exercise when I got a knot the size of the steak on my leg and bad knees and walk weird which causes more problems.

Never did get the answers to the Scavenger hunt. Never did find that ....... penny press because was on a mission to eat this weekend.

I don't know if its the best, but the school I attend has a nursing program and its just a block away from me.
