Loving the TR!!
I just love the fun you guys have together!
sorry your mom put a slight curve in your trip, but happy that it didnt let it ruin your vacation.

Love the pictures by the way, especially the one with you guys in the hub. Loved it!!!

Keep it going please, and lots of pics and food porn...:lovestruc

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. I should have more up tomorrow. This TR is gonna be picture heavy.

Great trippie so far! The Haunted Mansion looks awesome for Halloween - we are going to Disneyland for the 1st time at the end of the month - I can't wait to see all the decorations. :)

Yes Chris, can you also please put up Dan's pictures of the fireworks as I cannot get into his facebook since I am not a facebook user.

That bedspread is SO. CUTE.!!!!

And now I'm hungry for lobster...

I loved the bed spread, spacemermaid. I wish I had taken more pics of it. As far as lobster is concerned, I can practically taste it by looking at the pictures.

Thanks for the comment. HMH is pretty cool. I still prefer the original haunted mansion but I do enjoy them both. I could swear the HMH seems to go faster though. Weird.

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. We got some good picks this time. Including a pic that DLR photopass photographer had to have his own shot so he could win picture of the day.

Thanks for reading everyone... more will be up shortly

I'm trying not to leave long gaps in between parts as I took a lot of pics and I want to keep everybody interested. Please leave comments, I like it when people pay attention to me!

I realized that I should probably give you a little follow up on Dan. At the end of the night when Chris and Dan were done in the parks, I met up with them near the monorail station in DTD. At that point we walked Dan to his truck. I was at first a little hesitant about hanging out with someone new in DL, especially a "local" who had not been to Disney in more than a decade. But to be completely honest, I could not have enjoyed his company more. It was amazing taking someone through the DLR who had not been there since he was a child, long before DCA or DTD. He enjoyed it thoroughly and from what I hear, will be buying an AP. Chris... do you think we can get him on the DISboards at some point?

Part 4!

DAY 2 - SATURDAY SEPT 26TH.

We started our first full day in the parks on Saturday morning at 6:00 AM. Chris and I quickly got ready for the parks, while my mother elected to sleep in. We were ok with that. We had one goal in mind... Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy!

Chris had ridden it the night before with Dan, but I never got to. I was so excited to see what they did to it.

We left our room at about 6:20 and began our trek to the main gates so we could be there at open for MM.

Noticing that there was coffee in the lobby we each stopped and filled up a cup. As we left the wonder tower we noticed that a blanket of fog covered the DLR. What a really cool way to start the halloween season!

That was such an awesome morning. We stood there and waited for them to open the gates at gate 13. Once they scanned our tickets we made a mad dash for space mountain. We walked on to the ride with only a minimal wait once we got into the loading area. The wait was no worse than a normal magic morning.

100_2496.jpg

I was so hyped for that ride!!
100_2497.jpg

So what did I think, you ask? Well unlike some of my friends, I thought it was scary, I loved it though. The scariness was amazing. I definitely think if you don't like to be scared than you need to avoid the left hand side of the car. I loved what they did with the projections and would love to see some more amazing things like that in regular space mountain.

After our my first ride we got off to go buy the picture, but some inconsiderate @#$%@*& did a very non-disney thing in his ride picture and we could not buy it. Luckily I took a snap shot with my phone.

Chris and I felt it was appropriate to edit it for the easily offended.

We rode it one more time afterwards since that picture got ruined and I wanted to buy my first SMGG pic. It was a redo pic.

At this point we decided we wanted to ride a thrilling bobsled run down the mighty Matterhorn. It was cold in switzerland...

After our narrow escape from the Yeti Harold, we left the Swiss Mountain and headed to the Great Barrier Reef.

Chris had never been on Finding Nemo and it is his favorite pixar film, so we had to do it.

100_2502.jpg

If I remember correctly Chris enjoyed Nemo... Care to comment Chris?

I loved it... I think it is an adorable ride... I'm just claustrophobic. Before you say anything, I have thought about doing the handicap experience but I just can't bring myself to do that. It takes the fun out of being in a sub.

After Nemo, we decided it was time for breakfast. Off to The River Bell Terrace! I was really excited to try this place, especially since it is a DLR original! I really enjoyed it. The line could have moved a little faster but the food was good and Chris and I shared a table on the patio and watched people go by as we ate.

I had the Mark Twain. I loved the potatoes.

Chris420 had the cinnamon roll.

After breakfast we headed over to HMH. I really seemed to enjoy it this year... I'm not sure why.

Upon entering the mansion I had to take a picture of my favorite hidden mickey in the attraction. As soon as you enter the foyer, there are candles on the wall. If you stand directly underneath them and look up, you will see a hidden mickey. Check this out!

Ok folks! That is part 4. Please leave lot's of comments! Part 5 will be coming shortly!

The dude flipping off the camera (I'm assuming he's not making the peace sign under the Mickey head shaped censored spots!) in Space Mountain reminds me of the movie "Idiocracy". Which, if you haven't seen it, is a story of the future of the planet Earth, a couple of hundred years from now, if society keeps on going in the direction it's going. Long story short: flipping the bird is a form of greeting in the future world. (If anyone from Imagineering is reading: yes, Tomorrowland needs a revamp. No, the future world of "Idiocracy" is NOT the theme it should have!) The picture reminded me of it. Now, I won't lie, there's a time & place for, uh, "expressing onesself" in such a manner, but the time is NOT when a picture is being taken that others in the picture wanted a copy of, and the place is NOT AT DISNEYLAND! How rude!

I never knew about the HM Hidden Mickey...how cool!

I'm loving your trip report and all the pictures are great! It's getting me excited about our upcoming trip.
Can't wait to read more! :)

I have not seen the entire movie, but I know which one you are talking about and I have to say I did not think of it like that. That's really funny.

I'm loving your trip report and all the pictures are great! It's getting me excited about our upcoming trip.
Can't wait to read more! :)

I'm so glad you are enjoying it. Please keep reading, I have some great pictures coming.

Such a bummer about the guy ruining your first ride picture. Did the CM let you ride again right away or did you have to wait in line?

Your pictures of the DLH are making me second guess my choice to stay off-site on our up-coming trip. I am going to miss staying at the DLH. I love the grounds there and all the Disney touches.

just wanted to let you know that I found your TR this afternoon and have enjoyed reading it thus far !! I am looking forward to more food pics and adventures.

I'm taking my youngest dd for her bday in December and my oldest dd who is 17 saw the pics from BB and said "Mom,if you take her to eat there without me, I will dis own you!!" .... we're not eating there but we will be trying out Cafe Orleans, so I look forward to seeing your pics from there.

Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work !!

I agree... it was a serious bummer. I kept saying to Chris420 that if I saw that guy I wanted to punch him, I knew I wouldn't though. I did not want to be kicked out of my laughing place over some @#$%! %$

We have lot's more pics with lot's of great food porn coming up. Please stay tuned.

BB is awesome, but you are paying for the atmosphere. While the food is good, I do not feel that it is worth the amount of money that you pay for it. I will more than likely not be returning to BB on my next trip due to the expense, but I wanted my mother to experience it once in her life.

Cafe Orleans is one of my favorites. It is worth every penny and I advise you to check it out. I will have those pics up shortly.

Another great update!

Thank you Belle Ella, I'm glad you are enjoying it. I'm excited to see more of yours. It looks like you guys had a really good time.

We waited in line but it was a MM so we got right back on. Although we did enjoy a moment of trash talking the guy in the first picture with the CM who worked the picture booth, we seem to share the same opinion on how people like that should be removed from the park=)

The best parts of DLH are whats outside the room, the neverland pool is amazing(pics coming soon), espeacially the hot tub which is set up as mermaid lagoon!

And the lost bar....well....Ill just wait for those pics to come up..thats a whole different story :rolleyes1

I LOVE the MM pic at the turnstyles with the fog.........that is great!!! I would love to be at DL early enough for fog.

Very nice report so far. So when is the next trip? ;-)

James will be going in January for his birthday for sure, I may or may not be joining depending on school and what kind of breaks I get(Im starting trade school in nov. and breaks are few and far) but we both will definately be going over spring break in 2010

Great TR for far. I too am staying at the DLH in Dec, I have never been there, but your report has me excited about my stay. Some of the reviews scared me, but whatever it's the DLH! I agree BB is expensive, but so worth it for the atmosphere.

Really GREAT picture of the 3 of you sitting in front of the castle with the Walt statue skewed towards the left!

We thought the fog was the perfect way to start the first full day of our Halloween season trip to the DLR. The fog was so thick you could not see the castle as you walked down main street or see the matterhorn from Space Mountain. I love playing in fog... we don't get it much in AZ
