"I could care less about Disney" she said.....until she went once!

Fingers crossed for you that you get a diagnosis for AJ soon. I look forward to seeing how everything else pans out for you.

Hi Rebecca. Sounds like you really have been busy!

I'm so glad that AJ is close to a diagnosis. I'm sure that will help you to be able to provide the proper care for him. What a relief!

Great news about the Disney tickets...gotta love saving money! :thumbsup2

Your trip in August sounds great! May as well make the best of it, right? How's the weight loss and recovery coming?

Missy, we have been super busy! By the time I get caught up on everyone elses TR's I dont even have enough time to work on mine!!!

The recovery is great. Im still having a few issues wearing certain bras on certain days. The scarring under one of my teeny weeny ta-ta's is quite painful! As for the weight loss. Im already down 13 lbs since surgery and am noticing that clothes are fitting different! Since the surgery I am moving around alot more. Its great. I have more energy and everything. Once I start going to the gym again I think Ill be able to knock more off!!!!!!!

Wow! That'd be great if you can get some discounted tix!!

I'm so glad to hear you're more comfortable and moving more! I know there's little BETTER motivation for losing weight than seeing old friends!

So glad AJ's evals are almost over. Now you can hopefully begin to get the help he is so needing!

By the way... I put up a few more details about the DCMeet on my thread, there are several coming from your neck of the woods- maybe you could carpool. :confused3

I know, the tickets would save us a small fortune!!!

I am about to do a new post about yesterdays eval in a few....wait till you read that!

Hi everybody, Happy Saturday!

AJ had one of his pre school evaluations yesterday. The "test" takes 2 full hours to complete so they break it down to 2 seperate days. We got there about 5 minutes early and he was excited. Ms. Cotie (the pre school teacher) came out and asked him if he wanted to go play with her. I've never seen this child so happy! He went with no problems. Before he left he told me "Cotie pwetttttty".....as im sure you all know, that means Ms. Cotie is pretty and she is. So he went with his new girlfriend and abandoned me.

Since I had an hour to kill, I headed over to my local starbucks and spent a small fortune on the greatest drink on the planet. I waited in the van and read some WDW dining reviews. I had my handy dandy little post-it pad to make notes on and I stuck them on the page they belonged on. When the hour was almost done I headed back into the school to wait. When he came out he was excited and blowing bubbles. He did so well that he was able to pick from the treasure box.
Being the obsessed parent that I am I asked how it went. Ms. Pretty Cotie explained that while she can't go into detail yet, he did exceptionally well. She explained that he completed all but 20 minutes of the entire test. That means that next week we only have to go back for 20 minutes not the whole hour. She said that on some of the tests he scored on the 6 year old level. He is only 3!!! She said he is extremely bright but that this could mean other issues.

In Ajs medical records the word Autism is all over the place. They noticed it early and while some doctors say that you cant diagnosis it until 3 1/2 some Childrens hospitals are working to diagnosis it early. So, they watched him. We were told about 6 months ago that he had grown out of the "Red flags" and that they didnt believe that he is autistic.
I am not a Medical Professional nor do I play one on TV. I am a mom. I am a mom that has spent a great deal of time looking for why things are the way they are. I am always looking for the reason to why AJ has been through everything he has been through. So, what does this have to do with Ms. Pretty Cotie and her evaluation????? Its simple. Asperger Syndrome. We have heard the term a few times including yesterday. The Wikipedia definition fits AJ to a tee and Ms. Cotie said the words yesterday. This is another thing that she wants to speak to the rest of the special ed team as well as AJs doctors about. I do not claim to know much about Aspergers, nor do I care to hear anyones mean and or rude comments about how I dont know what Im talking about!!! This is just a new direction that we may be taking.
We still have 1 more preschool evaluation left, the home visit and I believe there is one more evaluation by someone else. Then we will know how to proceed with everything!

On a WDW note, I had dinner at my moms house last night and it is confirmed, we are all going!!! She is booking next week!!! The only one who is still in question is my brother. He isnt sure that he wants to spend his money at WDW. We have told him that we would love for him to be there with us but, its ok if he doesnt want to come. If he thinks its a waste of money then he will be miserable there. We started looking over more menues and here is what we have so far:
Day 1~

The plan for eating is that for Table Service, Majority rules. We are going to try to eat dinner together with 1 night to be alone. My mom will take the kids for us to have a dinner without the kids, same with my sister. So that will be nice!

More to come so stay tuned!!!

So glad the evals went so well for AJ!!! Awesome!

Think about Columbia Harbor House for lunch in MK. So yummy!

Were you planning to go into World Showcase at EPCOT? I'd suggest a CS in one of the Pavilions there for your lunch. If not, most people like Sunshine Seasons, although I've never tried it myself.

I"m glad you're doing one of the dinner theaters! I think you'll all have a great time at the Luau!

:thumbsup2

I actually have my name on Columbia Harbor House! Since we are doing a majority rules for dining, I cant make the choice for everyone.....although, I have convinced them to do a few that I want. I guess thats the benefit of being the only one in the family who has gone to WDW!!!

We are planning on doing the Showcase with the kids real quick to do the Kim Possible thing. The night that Eric and I get alone we will spend it there. We has such a bittersweet time there last time.

I am excited about the Luau....The kids are excited too. AJ and my nephew (5 now 6 when we go) Nikolas LOVE pretty ladies so I know they will have a good time. Kat just wants to see the show!

Did I miss why it was so??

I actually havent posted it.

Here is the story. I had been having severe back pains for a while. I decided to go to the DR in July of 08. Just about a month before we were going to WDW. After meeting with the DR they sent me in for x rays. Those were done 2 days before we left. They gave me some pain pills and told me to be careful and take it easy.

While standing in Norway, I got a phone call from my Dr. office. The nurse told me that I needed to come back home ASAP. When I asked why, I was told that I had a large unexplained mass on my left Kidney and they believed that it was cancer. I told them that I only had a few days left on my trip and that I Would be home when I got there. She argued with me and told me that I needed to catch the Red-eye and get home that day. I knew at that point that if it was infact cancer, I would already be passed the point of rushing home to start treatment so I stayed in WDW against medical advice.

I got off of the phone with the nurse and had a mental breakdown in the middle of Norway. My mother in law took my kids and left DH and I there to talk. We walked the rest of the Showcase but, neither of us was "into" it. We hit a few shops and decided to call it a night and headed back to the hotel. I spent the rest of the trip in a confused state of mind.

When I got home, I went in and was referred to another dr and another set of x rays. Yeah, turns out it was a freakin kidney stone!!! Stupid lady had me thinking that I was dying. So, this time we want to enjoy the World Showcase and change our memories there!!!

That really bites!!! Big time!!!

You TOTALLY deserve a do-over on this one, my friend!

:woohoo: AJ kicked butt on that test!! That is wonderful. I am so glad you are close to a diagnosis, that will make things so much easier to get the help you need.

I hope you like the Luau, we really enjoyed it.

I am so sorry about the problems you had on your trip in 2008, how very scary to get a call like that, thank goodness it was just a kidney stone. That lady would have freaked me out too. You are so in need of a Do Over at Epcot WS.

Yeah, everyone in my family knows that I want to "change my stars". Eric and I are both nerds so we are very much into world history and odd facts about stuff so WS is right up our alley!

AJ is really excited about going back to finish the testing. He woke up and got dressed this morning saying that he was going to school! Poor guy didn't know it was Sunday!
What really ticked me off about the phone call was that she said everything over the phone. She really had me freaking out.

OK then here's a fun thing to find if you like history!

Go into the Marakesh Restaurant, and find a copy of a letter from the (then) King of Morocco to George Washington- Morocco was the first country to formally recognize The US as a country after the Revolutionary War.

Oh wow, thanks for the info. I will be adding that to my list!

It seems to me that the nurse was a tad irresponsible in leading you to believe that you had cancer when, in fact, there had been nothing to confirm that. To tell you they had concerns would have been fine, but to use that word and freak you out.....I don't think so. Sorry those are the memories you have of World Showcase. It's one of my favorite places in WDW. :thumbsup2 Here's to making better memories this time!!

OK. Here is a small frustration I would like to share. Its sprummer here. Yup, Sprummer. Thats what I call "too hot to be spring, too early to be summer". One of the most iconic moments is when the crazy old man comes screaming down the street in his Ice Cream Truck. Corny music playing and all. So, being the overgrown toddler that I am, when I heard the crazy man coming I grabbed a wad of cash and hit the door. Thank goodness he stopped! We approached the truck and the kids placed their orders. Kat asked for a Screwball, AJ asked for a spongebob on a stick and I patiently awaited my turn to scream.....Choco-Taco, Choco-Taco! He gave Kat her screwball......He reached back into one of the giant freezers and said he was out of spongebobs. OK I said, He'll take a batman. He reaches in and gets out the batman. One last time he reaches in and come up empty handed. "I'm out of Choco-Tacos" he says. I swear, I felt my heart break. It was as if the Icecream Gods were trying to play a trick on me. Sadly, it was no joke. There were infact NO choco-tacos. I paid the crazy driver and walked away. As I walked in front of the truck I felt a tear come down my face. Why me??? Why me? Why were there no choco-tacos today? How could this be? Why did all of those people before me order MY choco-tacos? I will try again tomorrow. I will pray tonight that the crazy man has just one choco taco left when he gets to my house. And until then, I will sit here in my own sadness. I have nothing else to say about this. It is a tough thing to talk about. I am sorry for those of you who have shed tears for me.

That increasinly skinnier you NEEDS a choco!! Just curious... did you call him "crazy" or did you merely say "that's crazy". Might have made a difference. :confused3:lmao:

After I walked away, I tried to call my local nut house to have him admitted. They said that merely being out of choco tacos was not enough reason to prove insanity. I tried to explain that this man sells Blow Pops for 50 cents so he MUST be insane....it was a no-go. My goal for today is to track down the illusive choco taco.
