ABD Backstage Magic 2/20 - 2/25/11 *** Close to Selling Out***

1: Michael B. & Suzette, you two are definiately on my Walt's Table list for Monday night dinner. There is still room for one more at the table...and anyone else who care enough to eat at the Tam twice in one day at any of the other tables :rotfl:

If there is still room at Walt's table, count me in please. Thanks.

All this planning makes my head spin. I have a friend who lives in Burbank and I am trying to set up dinner. It looks like Monday is on our own. Is that still the case. He was on Heroes (Puppetmaster) and an announcer on the price is right so I guess of any more of our trip gets re-arranged/cut maybe I can ask him to do a lecturette or tour. J/K - I am sure ABD works with changes all the time and still pulls of fabulous.

Why don't you ask him to join us that night? :goodvibes

Hi Folks,

While the bones of this Adventure remain the same....some things will change. This happens because, to paraphrase Walt, Disneyland will continue to change.

No two trips will be exactly the same.

In April, we were supposed to have one of our dinners at Hook's Point. It was changed to Steakhouse 55. I thought it was terrific.

I'm certain that the guides and ABD have worked this out logistically and will have everything under control.

When I was told about these changes, I asked if anything would be dropped or modified and was told "NO". Everything listed in the itinerary would still be part of the itinerary and that you wouldnt be shortchanged on anything....and yes...the tour of El Cap is still intact.

El Cap, the Disney Soda Fountain and Jimmy Kimmel are directly across the street from our Hollywood Hotel.

I feel the need to let everyone know that flexibility is going to be necessary with this (and all) Adventures. Things can and do happen (some planned, some not) and ABD and our Guides are terrific at handling all of that without ever letting you know.

Some examples....dinner was supposed to be at Hook's Point, but was changed to Steakhouse 55 (planned). We were scheduled for 30 minutes at Mickey's of Glendale and were actually there for 90 minutes (unplanned). No one would ever know that this trip wasnt seamless.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

See you all in chat.

ice cream??? Count me in!

I have NO INTEREST in seeing Gnomeo and Juliet but would love to have ice cream with everyone.

4: I REALLY want to go to the Blue Bayou! I was going to make myself a reservation for Friday lunch (since I will be staying in DLR until late that night), but I would love to dine with other people during our tour. Let me know if there is something I should do about that reservation as I'm not sure what date our free lunch will be.

Yeah I'm at Walt's Table.

I would like to be included in any reservation at Blue Bayou. I assume we are talking about Wednesday? I don't have the daily plan here...is that in between touring in the morning and the afternoon? Will we have time for a sit down table service meal like that? If we do great! If not, Lindsay count me in on Friday lunch with you. My flight out isn't until 7pm Friday night and I was planning to hang out in the parks, etc. So I would love to tag along with you if it ends up being Friday lunch.

All this planning makes my head spin. I have a friend who lives in Burbank and I am trying to set up dinner. It looks like Monday is on our own. Is that still the case. Jennselke - Yes, Monday evening is still our evening on our own. You can still make your plans with your friend for that evening I would assume.

Hope everyone is having a good week. If you are getting a lot of snow I hope you are staying warm. I live in North Texas and it is cold (for us) but we have avoided snow so far this season. We have had a light dusting once or twice.

We are;however, in the grip of Super Bowl frenzy. I was in downtown Fort Worth on Tuesday and walked by and saw where ESPN is setting up their stage for all their coverage next week. I think they will start live broadcasts from there this Sunday. I am meeting a friend for lunch in downtown Saturday at our favorite sushi place. After lunch I plan to drive by the Omni Hotel and see the Steelers banners hanging on the front and them I am determined to not go near downtown Fort Worth until after the Super Bowl is over. With the street closures and all the parties planned it is going to be a nightmare getting around. My husband works in downtown and quite a few people he works with are having to plan alternate travel routes into the office due to street closures.

I will try to be in chat this evening but we are having problems with our internet connection, still. I need to get AT&T back out to the house to address the issue. They were just there about 3 weeks and it seems we have them there every few months. We still can't maintain an internet connection and a WIFI signal. I don't think I can do chat from my iPad can I? I have a 3G connection on it but I can't imagine that would be ideal or possible.

Suzette - this is the link to chat from the iPad.

I know it works to chat in the main room, and there's an option to switch to the ABD room.

Patty,

West of Philly -. Looks like 15 plus last night, going out to start digging out now.

You?

Jersey Shore (near Sandy Hook beach)...not sure what our exact numbers are...easily 12+ not counting drifts

Got a snow day today as bus service was suspended for the several towns surrounding me. Just wish they would have clearly updated their FB page as I only saw there "all service restored notice" and got ready and trudged uphill to the bus stop...:headache:

I work in Times Square and they say Central Park got 19 inches...I am soo over winter right now:guilty:

As an FYI, we might be a little late joining chat tonight as we are seeing my mom off and picking up the dog to babysit while she celebrates her birthday...in Disney!!:woohoo: (she flies out tomorrow)

In the olden days of yore, I would've been concerned with changes like this but with Kevin looking out for us and all the good things I've heard about ADB I'm not at all concerned. I know we'll have a great time!

I have looming deadlines here at work, so I might not be able to make it to chat tonight. I'll do my best!

Michael

See you all in chat.

If I were doing all this planning on my own for my family trip and all these changes were coming up I would probably be stressing out. But I trust Pete, Walter, Kevin, John and ABD will make sure everyone has a good time. That we aren't rushing all over the place and missing out on things.

I do all the trip planning in our family and it is nice to sit back and not worry about anything. I know when I am supposed to be at the airport on Saturday morning and that a driver is picking me. That's about as far ahead as I am concerned. Heck it's better than our trip to Chicago. We had no idea how we were getting from the airport to our hotel until we arrived.

"Magic, Memories and YOU" began last night at Disneyland. I hope we get to see it.

Cool...that would be nice to be able to check this out...

Anyone else bummed that Critter Country is closed while we are there? I don't get to experience the west coast version of pooh...

According to Disneyland.com, Pooh is not scheduled to close the days we are there. They list Splash Mountain and Star Tours only as being closed.

I did read that the Hungry Bear restaurant was being refurbished.

Today was a tough day. I have chemo next Tuesday and I did all prework today including my blood work. I already have some of the results and my white blood count is very low again. BUMMER. I know this means on Monday when I see the oncologist he is going to tell me I will be giving myself shots again after chemo so that I can increase my white blood count. The only good thing is I know by doing these shots I should be able to able to be stable to come on our trip. I am going to keep my spirits up knowing that we are going to have a great time.

Just wanted to share knowing that you are all supporting me even when times are a bit tougher.

Carol
It's a great day to be alive!!!

Carol,

Double extra pixie dust (and prayers) to you.

Frank and Cathy

Carol-
I will keep you in my thoughts over the next few weeks. I hope all goes well for you.

Suzette

Feel better soon, Carol. Great times are just around the corner. Hugs.

Carol -
You're going to do super well! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
Dreams come true are just around the corner.
All best thoughts and big hugs your way!
Heather

Went to the doctor this morning for my pre-chemo appointment. Unfortunately my blood count is too low to do chemo tomorrow. I am now in a waiting game. This week I need to rest and hopefully my platlet and white & red blood cell counts will go up enough that I can do chemo next week. I need to get through chemo so that I will have enough time to recover to go on our trip.

I was feeling sorry for myself but then I saw John's post that Pete's Mom is having medical issues. She is such a lovely lady. I am hoping that whatever is wrong that she will be OK and that we will both racing each other with our scooters in less than 3 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed.

Carol
It's a great day to be alive!!!

Big hug for you Carol.

I hope that your bloodcount is good very soon so you can start this chemo session soon!!!
