Expensive brunch!

I normally like spicy too, but that was the "someone put in too much pepper" spicy kind and that I like not.

I am absolutely with you on the apple cobbler though - yumm!

The survey did definitely look like they were thinking of adding more restaurant "experiences". In hindsight it would have been a smart thing if I had taken a picture of the leaflet. *sighs*

I agree, it would be cool to get some additional choices. Especially if they're not as pricey as this one. :rolleyes1

Hmmm, I am wondering if you went on a bad night, or if you like things less spicy than me. 16 chillis at DLP, loved them all (even my kids do). Lol

Possible I just caught an off night, yeah. We hadn't been in ages (last time was before the characters were added) and I don't really remember that much to compare. It wasn't a bad meal, it just wasn't my thing. Normally I like barbecue and Tex Mex food.

But could be I am spoiled because my boyfriend's dad makes a killer chilli. His mom is married to a Texan, so he got a class A teacher.

Okay, it's picture time! :goodvibes

If the pictures are too large please let me know and I'll downsize. I just wanted to make sure everyone got a good idea of what was available.

This greeted me outside of the restaurant:

Entrees - my boyfriend's mom pointed out the French names of the dishes are apparently correct. However the English translations are absolutely wrong:

your photos are great Vala - and those desserts are actually making me drool :love:!

Thank you. :)

My first words when I saw the dessert area actually were "oh my god." LOL
And that stuff tasted even better than it looks.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Vala, the presentation and quality certainly looks good. But yes, you are right, the English is wrong but the French is correct. It is starting to get annoying seeing how often this happens.

DLP is supposed to be a 50/50 French/English resort, I know it is in France, but the policy is to cater not just to the English, but the many other Europeans who speak English but not French. This seems to be a worrying trend lately.

You're welcome.

Yes, it's a worrying trend indeed.

We hadn't been for a while and normally only go for day trips. Boyfriend is not a Disney person, so I have to make sacrifices. ;)
But normally when we went the little French I speak has always been okay, at least mixed with other languages (native German speaker, fluent English, little Italian and Spanish).

When we stayed for 5 days at the beginning of the month it was absolutely horrible. I have never heard "I don't understand" so much in my whole life. I know it's France, I don't expect everyone to speak perfect English. But like you say, they have so many international visitors, they should at least try.
At the very least I'd like not to be treated like I am dirt on someone's shoe when I actually try to speak French and I am not doing well enough for that person's taste.

Especially at the buffets it was a huge problem when the food wasn't labelled at all and neither waiters nor cooks could give me any information about a dish.

At some points one could almost get the impression that they wanted everyone out of the resort (some even acted like they wanted us out of the country...) who didn't speak perfect French.

I havent had my disney fix for 13 months and this makes me so want to go now :goodvibes

Next time we go i am going to have to put some funds aside to go to the buffett it looks amazing. Thanks for the fab pictures.
