Hi fellas, another new Dis dad to the boards. I meet a number of the criteria in the first post, one of which is listening to Disney podcasts. I will add the disdad podcast to my repertoire ASAP.

I did go to WDW on my honeymoon, but got sick. :sad2: I'm convinced it was a reaction to giving up my bachelorhood and not something I ate/did at Disney. ;)

Thanks for the laughs in this thread!

JD

Welcome to the club!

On an unrelated note, I just got an email from the director. No need for call backs, I got the part of Amos!!!!:woohoo::dance3:

Awesome! Congrats! :banana::woohoo::cheer2:

You know we are going to need video evidence once the show starts up. :)

Is that the real gingery one? I like that too!

Yep. “Krest” Ginger Ale (Mozambique) good stuff.

As you’re currently located in the Carolinas, if you like really sharp ginger flavors look around for some “Blenheim's”. It’s bottled in SC (over around Dillon) and comes in varying degrees of “hotness”. It can be found here and there in the convenience stores and in a few of the specialty groceries. I love this stuff so much, that several of my friends have long since nicknamed me “Ginger”.

looks like im down to 15 days till trip 50!!!:woohoo::woohoo::dance3::dance3:

You are my hero! :worship:
I hope to grow up some day and be able to say that. :lmao:
Have a great trip.
On a semi-related note - any chance of a shirt order going through in time for me to get one for my July trip?? I want to wear my letters this trip.

You best chance would be to use a copy of the logo we already have and upload that (along with what ever text you’d like to add) to one of the online custom tee-shirt sites on the web. A few of the other folks have gone that route. They may be able to get it made and shipped to you before you leave

I'll be at the McCormick Hyatt and at the Convention Center from Wednesday through Friday. It looks like all day Wednesday is open for me and Friday afternoon as well. Let me know. If your in the city I can meet up with you somewhere, plus I was thinking of hitting the Disney Store downtown because they closed all the ones near me in Denver.

Grooovertoo, I'll send you a PM with my contact info. If you are free for lunch any of those days that would work best for me, but I could also possibly meet up on Thursday after work.

Welcome aboard.

Today was errand day. Everything was going fine until I decided to get a haircut. When I was paying, she asked me if I was a senior citizen. What? First time for that. In the thought bubble, "You Beverly, Peanut Buttering, Beverly." I had already tipped her too.

I guess its time for the rocking chair and AARP card. BEVERLY!

Be careful not to get all worked up at your age :lmao::rotfl2:

Does that mean that you have to come to the one by MY HOUSE at Flat Irons Mall? :lmao::confused3

Isn't it a DisDad Law that when you go on your 50th trip that you have to buy a souvenier for each of the other DisDad members? I'll take a Star Wars Vinylmation or a Pete as Boba Fett action figure! :thumbsup2

Still waiting to see if DW got a part. I hope she does, it's one of her favorite musicals...I'd feel bad if I got a part and she didn't.

Congratulations. Will you be posting pics?

Welcome to all the noobs!!

I found this place a couple weeks ago when it was just a thread. It's been like watching a child grow up. *tear*.

Cheers,

Someone else already mentioned it, but its probably easiest to go your own way. I know Dave and I both ordered shirts. (I ordered mine from vistaprints and it turned out pretty good.) I think one of the Docs ordered a technical version that looked pretty nice.

Did you give her a beat down with your cane to teach her a lesson in respecting her elders?

I've heard it's pretty good but I have to go to Southern Seasons up in hippie-dippy Chapel Hill to get it and I only go there in times of medical emergency.

Ahem... Flat Irons CROSSING! Man... it is SO MUCH BETTER than just a MALL! My wife and I used to go on dates there because a) it was cheap and 2) it was minutes from our house. I remember when they put up the Wal-Mart there - we were WAITING for it to open because it was worlds better than the skeevy old ones around.

I tell you - if I had a good job there and a place to live we'd move back in a minute. Oh, and an "in" with the local home-school community. It's hard to get things organized when you swap states.

I'm totally looking forward to gray hair. As the Bible says, "a gray head is a crown of glory" (Pro 16:31) and I'm looking forward to milking that until the day I die. I'm 35 and I keep searching for gray hairs... Sure, my WIFE has PLENTY, but ME? NOOOO! lol

She's gonna beat me for that... :woohoo::eek:

Ooh yeah, that's right! I'll make it easy and just take a box o' Mickey pants shortbread!

Have a great trip!!!

A couple more comments like that and you might end up with a quarrelsome wife. You do not want that, its hot on an NC roof in June.

:cool1:Give my regards to Broadway!

They sell it at the State Farmers Market in the enclosed buildings, there is a vendor in there with a bunch of metal wash tubs filled with sodas on ice.

She knows I'm kidding... Trust me, she'd like me to get some so I'll shut up about it.

My grandfather on my mom's side was bald and in my 5th grade "genetics" class I learned that I'm supposed to lose my hair too. I can't wait for that either. I already told my wife that if it happens I'm shaving the rest off, buying a box of sugar-free suckers and making everyone call me "Kojak".

Hmm... we're doing a Young Marine trip this weekend. Lots of camping, team-based capture the flag, hot dogs, summer survival training, smores and water combat training. It's gonna be a lot of fun. I think I'm teaching field skills.

Anyway, when we get back I have a trip to the Fair Grounds planned since we need to get more MREs to backfill for those we're going to use. Maybe we'll plan a trip to the Farmer's Market as well!
