So i'm going to Disney on December 23-29 and was wondering if i can get help. I'll be flying down and i've never flown before so it worries me and I have seizures so i'm worried of having a seizure in the airport. Can anyone tell me what I should take and anything that might help me to prepare for the trip?

Ok don't be nervous Disney is the greatest place on earth im sure you are going to be fine and when you get there be sure to keep us posted on how much fun you're having!!!!

Woohoo! You are going to Disney!:-) That's fantastic! The airplane thing is really no big deal... If you don't mind my asking, how old are you? Although it doesn't extremely matter. I was just thinking that might help me think of some things you can do. I've been on a plane a few times before (most of those times I was going to Disney) and every time I went, to distract myself I just thought about how much fun the trip is going to be, rather than the whole "flying" thing.. That may not work for all people. I would suggest bringing something to occupy yourself, such as a book (if you like reading), some paper (if you like drawing or writing), some sort of video game (if you like that kind of thing), music (to listen to, if you like music that is.... but who doesn't, eh? :p ), umm a magazine (if you like reading them), crossword puzzles (if you like that kind of thing), oor even a movie on, like, an iPod or something! Also, I just read this on a website: "When you feel nervous, tell yourself calmly that planes are safe and try to think about your destination and how much fun it will be. Planes ARE safe and statistically, they are actually the number 1 safest way to travel! There is a very, very, very low chance of anything happening- a much lower chance than when you drive in a car, even." sooo yeah! You can think about that! You have a better chance at dying in a car crash than a plane crash! ... actually, don't think about that because then you'll be scared the entire car ride over buuut umm.... Yeah! Tell me if you want any other advice! :) :p

Don't worry about it, I'm sure you'll be fine! :)
I get worried about flying too, but remembering it's getting me to WDW does make me feel better. You're so lucky going for the first time! Try to forget your worries about flying and focus on how excited you are and what you will do when you get there.
I find things like music and reading really help pass the time and keep your thoughts on something other than worrying. It sounds weird, but eating really helps too! ;)
Have a great trip- you will have a wonderful time, I'm sure!

The flight goes by VERY quickly when i fly down from NY. Its not bad at all! Don't be nervous, YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! Im sure you'll have the best time ever! Also, enjoy every moment possible! HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!

Plane rides go by pretty fast if you have something to do. I'd suggest bringing gum on the plane so your ears won't hurt as much. I've always liked to read on planes (a great series to read on the way to Disney is Kingdom Keepers). Also, I've always brought a journal to write in, because I feel like I always have to write down important things (I also write in it every night while at Disney, so it becomes my vacation journal). I always get nervous when they tell you what to do in case of an emergency, but just remember that you're going to Disney! Once you get there, it'll all be worth it. I've been to Disney lots of times, and I've never had a bad experience there. There's a reason it's called the happiest place on earth :) Have fun!

I always take gum and some sort of gummy candy.
I also have an i Phone so I have all my music amd games downloaded on there:-)
I try to sleep as much as possible though...that's the best way to keep calm for me atleast hahaha :-)

PLUS, you have so much to look forward to! DISNEY at Christmas is indescribeable! It's so amazing and beautiful <3

oh my goodness!! how exciting! your first time to Disney World!! :cool1: Don't be too worried about the plane ride, it goes by very quickly. I suggest bringing an ipod for music, a book to read, or a pillow to sleep on! haha. Everything will be OK. You are soo lucky to be going during Christmas time! It is SO BEAUTIFUL!! :goodvibes Although Disney World is in FL, it can still be chilly in December. I suggest bringing a sweatshirt for early mornings and nights. Sunglasses are a must have! A bathing suit is a good idea if you plan on swimming or visiting the water parks (weather permitting). Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes, because there is a lot of walking! The holidays are extra magical at Disney! :santa: Make sure you make time to see the special holiday shows, parades, decorations, and etc. Dont be too bummed if you dont see it all, especially considering youre a first timer. Just be sure to enjoy yourself and make the most of your visit, because its not every day that youre in Disney for the holidays! It is truly amazing! Enjoy yourself, take lots of pictures, and keep us DISers posted! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I was about 4 years old when I first went on an airplane :) I have probably been on ever 20 plane rides, because I travel a lot I know exactly the process of the airport/plane.

Some tips that I can suggest is that you don't think about to much, the more you stress about it the more nervous you will get. I personally try to think how fun the airport is because its the beginning of the trip. Going through the process can actually be quite fun :)

Try planning out some 'signs' in the airport to get you excited. I always look forward to giving my luggage up so that it can go to the plane, this reminds me that the next time I see it I will be in Florida, or wherever you are going :)

Now for the place ride, trust me, I have to admit that I do get a little nervous when boarding but honestly in the end theres nothing to worry about :) There are usually pretty new movies and tv shows that you can watch which makes time fly by.

Have a great trip, hope this helps :)

we will be heading to GA then having a 2 hour layover there then from there we are heading to Disney!

If you're going to Disney World you'll have an AMAZING time for sure- after all, it is the happiest place on Earth!:-) Sorry about you having to deal with seizures though :( You should take some gum because on airplane rides, your ears pop and it can get uncomfortable. But other than that, the plane rides are half the fun and just listen to music, read a book, take a nap whatever you please :) Hope your trip goes well, tell us about it when you can too!

Thanks everyone :-) I'm hoping that I won't have any seizure while down there. I know i'll have alot of fun though and i'm very excited to go!!!!!!!!!!

you might also want some earplugs for the plane ;)
I recommend that you do research and plan your whole trip before you leave. that way, you can read what you're doing and get into the disney mood on the plane! :) even though they're super ugly ;) that's the only time of year I've gone, and crocs are perfect for the weather! you HAVE to see the Osbourne Lights at hollywood studios! I LOVE that! they also make wishes (the firework show in magic kingdom) all Christmas-y by adding a "castle light-up" to it. it looks SO pretty! in the world showcase in epcot, they have the santas from each country. in the american part of world showcase, they have the candlelight processional, but you need tickets and they could sell out (they have celeb speakers!). just a warning, if you aren't going to mvmcp (mickey's very merry christmas party) in magic kingdom, you have to leave pretty early on nights they have it. maybe around 8 pm? have fun! :santa:
