Still nothing about the 29th?

Has anyone seen any leaks about activities? Even minor things like extra fireworks or 2 parades or something? No one has even leaked the leap day pins yet! I need data!

I haven't heard anything. We planned our arrival to take advantage of the day, but no one I've spoken to on the phone (various planning calls) knows much about it. One CM didn't even know it was open for 24 hours.

February 19 is the date Cast Member schedules for the week beginning February 26 will be posted. More than likely specifics will probably be available then.

The only thing I know is that on the Travel Agent calendar (and the WDW park calendar) there is NO Main Street Electrical Parade. I can't tell you how disappointing that is!

I am "concerned" that the 29th wont be much more than the 40th and as such not really worth the trip if the park will be packed. Hmmmmm

I am preparing myself that there won't be much hoopla to the actual Leap Day event. I think the "big deal" will be Mk being open 24 hrs. I am guessing there will be some pomp & circumstance around park opening but am not expecting much after that.

I hope I am pleasantly surprised and Disney DOES add some special touches through out the day. It can be as little as small magical moments throughout the park on that day or maybe some special characters meeting in the park.

I am not getting my hopes up though so I won't be disappointed.

On that note - I also don't think the parks will be that much more crowded and usual for this time of year.

I'm disappointed to hear there isn't a lot planned, but that's okay we'll make our own celebration! We're taking our little boy to celebrate his 1st Leap Day Birthday...THAT is going to be special enough.

Although, a few little extra would be nice too! Keep us posted if you hear anything.

And this is why I didn't bother with planning a trip. I would have gone just for a day or two had I thought it would be something special, but they haven't shown must interest in doing anything special lately. We've been there for a few 3am EMH nights...this is just 3 more hours.

We are taking our little boy who will also be celebrating his "1st Birthday". We already had our trip all planned before they announced the "One More Day at Disney Celebration."

There isn't any new information on the Spring Mickey Monitor Issue either (the magazine for Annual Passholders). Here's what it says:
24 HOURS OF MAGIC
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Leap Day,
February 29, 2012, Magic Kingdom®
Park will be open 24 hours straight for
the first time in history! That’s an entire
nonstop day to enjoy select attractions,
meet some characters and more.
Like we were all thinking only specific attractions will be open, also I've spoken to attraction CM at Mk and all of them say that they will shut down rides during the day for half hour or so. So they won't be operating non-stop. Only time will tell...

What do you mean by "leap day pins"?

Disney pins that are leap day specific. I assume they will say "24 hours" or something, but who knows?

I have been keeping an eye on www.odpt.com to see if any pins get added for the Leap Day event, so far nothing has turned up and usually, they release everything that they know is coming for the month. I would like to hope that something special will be released, but....

And officially unofficial source with great crediblity over on another message board says that there will be characters out throughout all of the park hours. Nothing more than that has leaked yet to my knowledge.

I am waiting to see if anything more interesting sounds like it's going to happen that day before I make any plans to go. I would love to go, but I need more of a reason than the park only having limited attractions, limited restaurants, and limited areas open throughout the day and night to make it worth taking the day off to go.

No but even if I did Leap Day I wouldn't be there at 6am. The fun seems more that you can stay "overnight" but my point was that many people have already stayed almost that long already (the stragglers who don't get out till 4am).
