2010/2011 Armed Forces Salute Tickets

Cool, thanks for the advice!

P.S. ROLL TIDE!! :cheer2:

Remember you can buy them at Guest Services at MK (and likely the others also). My AFR/ANG base IT&T nearest me doesn't sell them anymore, so this becomes the easiest option. Just need your ID card. You give them the names you're buying for on the voucher they present, and pay for the activated cards.
Best bet is the ParkHopper version. The price is right, and it gives you more flexibility.

Has anyone heard/seen if this will extend next year? I know this usually comes out August-October timeframe, but any rumors? Hopefully it'll stay at least 4 days (prefer the old 5 day pass).

Once activated, when do salute to military tix expire? I have 2 days left on mine from sept. When we activated them, the CM said they would be valid for a year.... I want to confirm that's true. Thanks!

The expiration date should be on the back. I believe it is Sept 30, 2012.

Currently all Armed Forces Salute tickets expire on 30 Sept 2012.

My contact at Disney says they are working towards another follow on offer but nothing is official yet. If there is an announcement it would most likely be towards the end of the current offer.

But, you have to pay tax on them if you buy them at Guest Services and even for 2 tickets it's worth it to me to go to Shades of Green or our MWR office. It really would be if you are buying multiple tickets.

Sorry to ask this. It's probably answered in the thread, but I can't find it exactly. We are going in July (4 people). We will buy 4 tickets. My son and DH want to go an extra couple days. Can they buy another 2 tickets right away? I thought this wasn't allowed?

buy all 6 at once. activate them all at once. they do not become 'live' until you run them through an entry gate. they can use 2 then use 2 more once the first set have been used up.

You sure can, we did it in January. I bought 4 at the MWR office, we activated all 4 at DTD guest Relations, used 4 days on the first ticket and then 4 days on the next ticket, we also added the Waterpark, Fun, & more to it.

I agree with Mrsjvb, if you know they will use them, go ahead and buy them all at the same time. Be aware there is blackout on July 4th at least at the MK, but I don't think it effects the other parks

I have a question not about tickets, but about hotel prices. I saw Disney posted new reduced rates for June. Are we able to get the military discount on top of this rate? I know we are unable to do the free dining along with the military rate on the room, but I didn't know if this promotion was different. Any help would be appreciated! :goodvibes

Sorry, the Armed Forces Salute resort discounts (40% off Deluxe Resorts, 35% off Moderates and Fort Wilderness Cabins, and 30% off Value Resorts) are discounted from the rack rate only and can't be combined with additional discounts (on room rates).

It would be nice if you could combine them!

I am planning a trip for August for 8 days. I will be traveling with my daughter and mom. Will I be able to activate 3 tickets use them and then activate 3 more? I know I can not activate all at once since I am only the spouse.

Don't take this as an "official" answer, but I don't see why you couldn't activate all 6. For example, you are entitled to them even if your spouse was deployed, in which case he wouldn't be there. I'm pretty sure, as a spouse, you have the same abilities as your husband. The only issues come if you don't have a dependant ID (i believe).

If i'm wrong, someone please correct me!:thumbsup2

I believe you, as the spouse, can only activate 5.

I believe appleorchard is correct on this one, spouses can only activate 5. You can do all 5 of them at once and purchase the extra person a regular 4 day ticket, that would still probably be cheaper than purchasing an 8 day hopper, but not sure right offhand.

DH and I activated 4 at once to use over an 8 day period.

No, the spouse is only allowed 5 including theirs, the sixth one has to be for the service member.

They keep records and won't allow it.

I hope that isn't always the case. My mom got our tickets last week at our local AF base. My dad has passed away & she has a DD form 1173. She got 6 tickets for the 6 of us going. I didn't see anything on the website about her only being able to get 5 tickets. This is what I read:

No more than twelve (12) Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased, activated and/or used by any Eligible Service Member or spouse during the life of this promotion, and no Eligible Service Member or spouse may purchase, activate and/or use more than six (6) Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets during any single week of the promotion. One (1) of the Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets purchased on each occasion must be for use by the Eligible Service Member or spouse. This offer is for active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Please let me know if this is correct or not. We are leaving in 4 days & I'm getting a little nervous now.

My experience has been that different CEs allow different things. If your mom already bought them and your dad is deceased, I would definitely try to use all 6. Cheshire Figment might have more insight into this.
