Sorry Gaston, They are MUCH More Interesting Than You!*6/8* NEW Trip Report Link p154

Nice run around the area! I'm glad you had time to just chill a little.

I'm glad I explored the Swan/Dolphin area a little more. I would really like to stay there someday, but something about the resort fee and the parking fee just really irk me. Too many add ons to the bill.

I agree about the signs being the wrong direction! :(

It does look you are leaving, even when you are going back. Is that just a subliminal technique designed so you plan another trip? :rotfl:

Great in flight pics too. I always try to see things, but usually I don't recognize much, even close to home!

I rarely see landmarks I recognize. Maybe because I rarely have the window seat. :rotfl:

I enjoyed your little trip down memory lane - So sweet!

Thanks! I will always carry that memory with me even though I'm sure Nicholas has long forgotten it. I just can't believe it was that long ago.

Glad you made it home in time for Nick's birthday - Nice cake!!

I think Denny may have picked out that cake. Can't remember. All I know is after all that Disney eating I was more than willing to have some!

How great is it that you are going back so soon already??!! I'm jealous of that for sure! At least here I don't feel the need to escape the weather so much now. That's the hard part - seeing other people go when it's cold and snowy here.

It really is hard to see pictures of Disney during the winter. It will probably be a bagillion degrees while I am there, but that just means more pool time. And you have your Alaska cruise to look forward to - that is going to be amazing!

and THANK YOU for no more Todd/Paul pictures!! :yay:

You're welcome!!!!! ::yes::

Thanks for sharing Cynthia's picture - I just looked at it and said "aaaaahhh".

Maybe I'll go find that Aulani park bench video next.

Aulani really does look like paradise. I do hope I get a chance to travel there some day! :thumbsup2

Getting this in late but those chairs are just too creepy for me, LOL

That seems to be the general opinion! :rotfl: I don't like that they disappear and reappear. That's just way too creepy for me! :scared1:

So sad that your trip (report) has come to an end, but the timing is great that it's only 2 weeks to your next trip.

I'm glad I will have this wrapped up before my next trip. The timing worked out perfectly. I would like to write about HHI and this June trip all in one.

Lots of great pics on your run, I love the Epcot resort area, I would love to stay there some day.

I really hope you get a chance to. It's a great area. I just love the accessibility to Epcot. It really doesn't get any better than that. ::yes::

Cool pics on the flight home. Glad you made it home in time to see your son's game.

Thanks! And, yes, I was glad everything was on time and I got to see his game. It was sad missing two games from his senior year, but it was definitely a lack luster season. One that many of us would like to fogey.

I really want to say thank you for the update, but then I do NOT like the thought of your trip being over. ;)
Thank god, you are going back in just two short weeks and I am counting on a trip report. :lmao:

It is always sad when a TR ends, but I am very happy to be going back very soon. I'm really looking forward to a couples trip. We need it!

I had to :lmao: when I read the title of your update. Going back and having that weight limit on the airlines really is no fun. But you did REALLY well with your luggage. :thumbsup2

I am promising myself to pack LESS this trip. I actually do want to bring home souvies this trip. I had planned on it thinking we would be driving. So now I definitely need to leave the room! :rotfl:

The photos out of the plane window are so nice. I really love seeing countries from above. :goodvibes

Thanks! I love looking at the ground from the sky as well. It's just so darn cool to see everything and wonder "where am I"?

Oh, and I nearly forgot. We were at Disney when Hurricane Katrina hit too! Isn't it fun to find out that we were all in the same place at some time without knowing each other? Nowadays it needs a lot of planning to meet up. :rotfl2:

I think we flew down just at the storm was at its peak. The only sad thing about that trip was going back to the room and turning on the TV to see and hear about the devastation. It was just heart-breaking.

Thank you again for report! I just LOVED coming along.

Thanks for joining in and stay tuned for final thoughts. And, yes, I will definitely do a new TR for HHI and the June trip.

... and it's working. :faint:

Just wait until she starts her TR, then we are ALL going to be very jealous!

Hmmm... interesting. I don't think I've been around those resorts at ground level before aside from being in a bus or something.

I think I have to stay at one of them so I can finally figure out what is what. I just hate that they tack on all the extra resort fees. I just want one price quoted to me. period. :rolleyes2

In hindsight, maybe the bakery would have been a good idea! :rotfl:

Yeah - I think they had the same sandwich - probably with bacon.

Forget pictures, a video of you trying to close it would be more entertaining. :lmao::rotfl2:

Yeah - I think I probably sat on it once or twice! :rotfl2:

You might have ignored them, but did they ignore you? :crazy2: :faint:

Well, I didn't wake up to find one of them in my room, so I am going to say "Yes". :worship:

Not at all! Interesting story! I'll never feel that way about CSR, but I'm glad you have a nice story like that to relate to it! :rotfl2::lmao:

That really was one of my favorite trips. I think I realized then that I was a Disney lifer and I didn't need to apologize for it. It really was a magical trip and that FA was so sweet that I will probably never forget her kindness.

That would be your second poor decision regarding food that day.

:rotfl2:

Cool! So which airline did you fly? :confused3 :rolleyes1 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Hmmmmm - wait - was it......Southwest? :lmao:

I like to do the same thing! I usually start watching out the window at regular intervals from the time we take off. As long as I can identify a main highway and kind of track it for a while until we hit a city, river or other landmark, I'm usually pretty good at keeping track of where we are (at least I think I'm close).

I love it when the pilot announces where we are. I wish every plane had a map on the TV screen to show you exactly we you are. I am such a geek! ::yes::

I am familiar with the Chesapeake Bay area and the bridges around there having spent quite a bit of time in the area for work a few years ago, but looking at random pictures from the sky, I have no idea what any of them are. :lmao::rotfl2:

OK, now I don't feel so bad. Apparently there are readers who did recognize some of those landmarks and I appreciate them chiming in!

I love your plane pictures. I have no clue what any of it is. Heck I can't even identify anything near my airport and I know planes fly over our house all the time. I have yet to spot it from the air though.

Thanks....and now I don't feel so geographically challenged. I think I found my house once! :rotfl2:

Great pix from the plane Mary Ellen!! SWA should pay you for the great advertising:rotfl2:I just booked my fkight for December !!!!:cool1::cool1:

Right on! Nothing like having all your flights booked. Love that feeling! :cool1:

So sad it is over :( But I know you will have a great time in two weeks.

I always hate when a TR ends so I am very glad I have another trip just around the bend. Makes everything all better! ::yes::

I really have enjoyed this trip report. Can't wait for the next one!
:thumbsup2

Thanks! I will definitely do another one. I am going to combine HHI and the June trip into one TR.
Great TR as usual, also wonderful photos.

Thanks Doris! So glad you joined in again for this one!

You really did a nice job getting the plane photos. We never think to get many pix from the plane, although Bob did get some great ones when we were coming into West Palm Beach.

Thanks! I generally don't get too many in-flight photos, but I think because I was traveling alone I decided to do it to ease my boredom! That and having an entire row of seats to myself. :rotfl:

Loved your memories, time has a habit of flying by faster than it used to. Makes me want to dig out those old snap shots of our trips to WDW.

OMG - my kids were so cute when we first started to go. I love that I made a scrapbook from my first trip. I love going back and looking at it.

It seems like yesterday that you were on the trip with your brother & you would have been going with them again. I still have three months to go.

You'll make it! I think its fun to have a Disney trip to look forward to when the summer is over. :thumbsup2

I need to get back to work on my TR, but I sort of lost interest since I've been busy around here.

I hope you do decide to do a TR. Remember, its never too late. I really enjoy your TRs, so definitely think about it.

hey there

All caught up and so sad its all over. I have loved tagging along on the girls trip. The pictures were all fantastic. Thanks so much.

Welcome back Stranger! Glad you are all caught up. Seriously, girls trips are so fun. There's nothing quite like them. Thanks for the compliment of the pictures!

Wow - two weeks till I am off to Disney as well now - but the other side of your lovely country. It is so exciting - its been 3 years since being to Disney and I never know when I will be back so always makes it special and somewhat sad :confused3

I hope you have a wonderful time in DL! I have read a lot of DL TRs and it looks like such a fun place. I hope I get a chance to travel there one of these years!

Looking forward to more of your reports and back to reading Cynthia's and still havent finished Pat's last report either - so have heaps to keep going in the meantime

Take care

It's so easy to get behind, isn't it? I take a weekend off from the DIS and I am totally behind. Hope you are able to get semi-caught up before DL. Have a great time!

Lol! No, not aiming for anyone to bop me one. Seriously I was going to post a pic on my thread but then photobucket mobile wasn't uploading my pic, neither was FB and I gave up.

Well, I am glad I was able to at least post your pic here and I think Jenny posted it on your TR, so you are all good!

The girls seemed to like the toe picture better than the coffee on the lanai.

Toes are more interesting than coffee - when it comes to pics. When it comes to morning - I'll take the coffee!

I will wait to post wine on the lanai till later...Kathy might bop me!

We all might! :rotfl2:

Aloha to all, I have at least 2 updates to catch up on so the tr can't close out until then. Like after I get back from paradise.

Just sayin!

:)

I don't want this TR to close until after I get back from my June trip, so no worries there.

When are you getting back from paradise? Maybe today. Maybe yesterday. I am actually not sure, but I can't wait to hear all about it!

And yes. LOVE being a member right now!

::yes::

Hey Ashley! :flower3: I think you did miss a couple updates. Welcome back!

Being late to TRs and missing a lot of updates is becoming my "thing" here....when DIStown is up and running I'll be the one thats always late to meetings and parties, I guess! :lmao:

Well, I didn't exactly plan it but I figured it might work out that way. I see your trip is only 6 days away. Promise to let me know if you write a TR because I definitely want to hear all about your trip. :thumbsup2

Ok, I promise!! I would really like to try....Although, you and Cynthia (and MeMom and Pat and Emmysmommy and Kathy and Scott...the list goes on and on and on...and on...) are SO fabulous at writing them, mine may be quite plain in comparison!:worship::worship: We will see if I am motivated to take good notes during my upcoming trip...:confused3:confused3

I always overpack. I have no idea why. It's weird. I always think I need two complete changes of clothes for everyday I'm there and I definitely don't . I am going to do better this next trip. Maybe. :rolleyes1

You "need options" too!!

:rotfl: That's too funny!

Try it on Denny next Saturday...see if he falls for it!

Unfortunately, even though we are flying, we are not arriving until 4:30ish. I missed booking the 8am flight and then the price jumped. Just as well because I have to board Max. At least I have time in the morning to take him to the vet and do a couple things around the house before we have to leave for the airport. Still wish we had a better flight time but there was nothing between 8am and 2:15pm. :headache:

Its ok ;) I will have to try and hunt you down on Facebook so at least you can see the pictures I post. I do enjoy keeping all my friends updated "in the moment!"

Hope you had a great weekend!

:thumbsup2

Catching up after a long weekend away!

I know this has been said already many times, but great Madame Leota picture!!! :thumbsup2

Leave it to Pat to have the photo evidence to clear up the Todd/Paul debate!!! :rotfl:

Nice wrap up to your final night! There are much worse ways to end a trip than enjoying a little of the MSEP! ::yes::

I agree it is very difficult to get motivated when it is departure day! You did a great job of maximizing the pictures though! :cool1: Nice to know that Hurricane Joe's has a breakfast croissant, but I will take your advice and steer clear of the ham. Hopefully there is a bacon option. :confused3

I enjoy the window seat on the plane. Like you I always try to figure out where I am based on what I am seeing out the window, but you seemed to do a little better job of it than I normally do.

And yes, Cynthia is trying to make us jealous!!! :rotfl:

Lucky, lucky girl!!!

Tell me about it! :rotfl:

Well, at least looking forward to a son's soccer game helped take a little of the sting out of leaving. :goodvibes

It definitely did! It was a nice way to end the trip!

I can picture myself right there right now. ::yes::

OMG - so can I! Doesn't it look like heaven!

All this clasutrophobic has to say about an underwater tunnel is -
 :crazy2: :faint: :scared1:

I'm not a big fan of underwater tunnels either. I don't relax until I actually see the "light at the end of the tunnel". :rotfl2:

Thanks for sharing. I loved all the pictures! Jill wants to stay at Boardwalk someday, and I hope I can make that happen for her.

I hope you can, too! It's just a gorgeous resort. I can't wait until I get a chance to stay there again!

And hooray for more Disney time soon to come!

:cool1: So excited! :cool1:

Oh Cynthia. Why would you tease us all so? Aulani! Wow. Hope you're having a great trip!

I am certain she is having a great trip and I, for one, can't wait to read all about it!

Mary Ellen, very awesome pics from all around the resorts from your run. I love the little swan boats! The whole boardwalk area is so amazing. 2015 it shall be mine! :rotfl:

Thanks! And Yeah :cool1: to already having your 2015 destination picked out! You will absolutely LOVE IT there!

That is one FULL suitcase! Wow. Lucky it didn't go over!

I'm so glad I didn't have to unpack and repack right out front of the resort at bell services. THAT would have been very embarrassing! :rotfl2:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your lack of Todd and Paul pictures. :worship: :rotfl2:

See - I am a woman who keeps her promise. (of course all bets are off during my final thoughts )

I had to chuckle at the pic of the Disney bag on the stroller. I love watching the Disney people trickle down each airport I get closer to home. For me, I usually sit at the gate in Orlando with all Disney goers. In Toronto, there's a few left. Once we had a family come all the way to Sydney with us, all the same flights from Disney! AHhh prolonging the magic.

That's pretty cool that another Disney family followed you on all your flights. There are always tons of Disney goers in Orlando and its fun watching them at the luggage carousel when we land. They all have their hands full of shopping bags!

I love all your pictures from the plane! I am very much not a geography buff, even within my own country so I can't help. :lmao: But I still enjoyed seeing it all!

Thanks! I do love seeing the scenery from tens of thousands of feet in the air. It just looks so unique! Here's hoping for a window seat in June! :thumbsup2

I can't wait for the wrap up, but even more than that I can't wait for the next one to begin! Two weeks!!

I hope to write the wrap up this week. The question is - how long of a wrap up will it be? You know that sometimes I can get a bit wordy when there are pictures involved.

I haven't ever really looked at photos of the Swan and Dolphin, so it was nice to see some of the shots you took of the place on your run. Love the little swan boats at the dock.:goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed the Swolphin photos. It was fun to see the resort's pool area. But quite honestly, if I had to go back there I wouldn't remember at all how to get there. :rotfl:

It had to be so difficult to say goodbye to that room view...:(

Probably the most difficult room I ever had to part with. *sniff sniff* :rotfl:

Thanks for the pics from the plane. I've never been north of IL, so it was interesting to see some new sights. Those trees look gorgeous from up high. I suppose there are places that actually have a fall season. :rotfl2: (In the southern states that's not really the case.:rolleyes2)

When people who don't have fall come to visit they comment how beautiful it is. And it really is, except that when its over - winter and bleak begins and lasts and lasts and lasts. :faint:

Also - have a great visit!

Thanks! It was a nice visit! :goodvibes

Just made it? Lucky you!!

Seriously, I was THAT close! :scared: I promise to do better next time! :thumbsup2

Truer words were never spoken!

Kathy

No matter how prepared you are, going home is rough!

Happy Memorial Day weekend to you too. We've got loads going on too. Soccer tournaments, a farewell for some friends at the Synagogue, a Salt Lake Real game tonight, and Gabby has MORP (girls' choice informal dance or prom backwards). We'll have more soccer Monday if Gabby's team advances. Joshua's team is in the finals today. Chloe goes for the Slurpees. Lol!

Wow - now that's what I call a jam packed weekend. This is the first year I haven't had a soccer tournament since Brian was in third grade. The funny thing was, I didn't really miss it and I thought I would. :rotfl:

I'm with Chloe on the slurps! :rotfl:

I think that was probably the most well-documented Disney departure ever! Hahah I enjoyed all the pictures! The airplane pictures were especially cool... although I do admit, they made me a little nervous for my flight on Tuesday! :scared:

"most well-documented Disney departure" :rotfl: Is there an award for that? :rotfl:

Oh - I hope I didn't make you too nervous. Heck, you are probably already there and already having a great time. Make it the best trip ever! :cool1:

Oh that Cynthia! I'm so jealous.

We all are! :rotfl: I think every DVC member who saw this picture is going to plan a trip.

You were cutting it close with that suitcase! I've started bringing a bag weigher on trips since I'm usually so close as well.

Really? A Bag Weigher? Hmmmmmm - there's an idea. Nope. I'm going to be just fine for June. All summer clothes and easy to fold dresses. :thumbsup2

I'm absolutely no help on the geography. My house is super close to the airport and I can never find it. Bonus that you had a whole row to yourself!

Can you believe I had that whole row? What a score there. :thumbsup2 I love flying on Tuesdays!

I identify even less when I am flying into BWI.

A little stand versus the bakery. Oh Mary Ellen :sad2:

Hey, what can I say. I was in my running clothes. I was in a hurry!

Great TR ladies! Thanks so much for sharing your adventure :)

Thanks Pam! Thanks for joining in!

Just catching up after a long weekend away from the boards...

I love getting the window seat and trying to figure out where we are when flying. I believe the golf course you flew over is Pine Valley Golf Club in New Jersey, which is generally considered one of the top 3 or top 5 golf courses in the entire country. It's fairly close to the amusement park in Clementon which another reader identified earlier and not far from Philly.:thumbsup2

I loved the way I ended that trip! It was also pretty adventurous of me to do all the running around by myself. I mean, I know Disney's really safe and all, but it is just a little scary to be out night all alone. What can I say? Sissy for sure! :rotfl2:

That is what I love about Disney- I can wander around safely. :rotfl2:

Also catching up - not away but busy catching up around the house and such.
You made best use of the you last night and even departure day!!! Great run through the Swolfin and around the Boardwalk area.

I do love that area!!!

Less than 2 weeks. :cool1::cool1:

Less than 2 weeks :cool1::cool1: so jealous, I'm at the less than 7 month countdown now..ugh.

49.5 that is hysterical. I have come to the conclusion after this recent trip that I can ONLY use my magical bag on trips, it always comes in under, never allows for more. Any other bag in the house except the E's bags have the same issue. Let's just say that we had some interesting baggage experiences coming and going to Hawaii. And...get this...Alaska charges an extra $50 if you are overweight. Delta told us it would be $90! Not that either is ok but WOW. $90???????

You had a good time on that flight with those photos, how lovely to have a whole row to yourself!

I really enjoyed your swolphin run photos

Well once again, I have been away for far too long! Geographically challenged- yes, that's it! I got lost!

:rotfl2: I've been a little lost this week.

Lone Traveler-

The pictures of the sky at sunset are gorgeous!!! I love the way the EPCOT fountain looks like it is on fire!

Thanks! I had such a great time in Epcot that evening. It was just the perfect night.

Reveal-

I never weighed in on the T-shirt contest and it is a good thing. The only one I was positive you got was the Beers around the World for Jeff, and you didn't get that one at all!

:rotfl: I got the other one for Denny. :thumbsup2 It's so cute. I love that shirt.

I love your purchases, especially the very cute shirt from Yak & Yeti, the Hook pin, and the cookbook. I know you can find a lot of recipes here on the DIS and I may just look up the meatloaf and the coconut curry chicken stew. Thanks for the tip about the chicken. BTW- I did make a shephards pie based on the recipe you posted. Yum!

Oh Wow! I'm impressed. How was it? Did you love it? Did you family like it?

Madame-

:rotfl2: at the Michael Jackson profile comment! Too funny!

Glad you liked that! :rotfl:

WOW on the last picture of Madame Leota you posted. Absolutely amazing!!!

Can you believe it turned out as well as it did? I impressed myself. :rotfl2:

I enjoyed your bonus fireworks pictures- the colors are stunning!

Thanks! I was really working the camera that evening! :rotfl:

My husband and I just realized that we have never been on the Peoplemover at night! We hope to rectify this mistake in July.

OMG - you TOTALLY do! It's really so relaxing at night. Love it! :thumbsup2

Love seeing the pictures of your incredible view from the room.

I absolutely loved that view. It was my favorite room to date. I wish I could stay there every time.

Nice pictures from your run. The colors in the picture of the Dolphin are so pretty. I didn't know there are swan boats at the Swan!

I've heard about that boat, but this was the first time I have ever seen them. They really were cute.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: at the picture of your suitcase! So glad you were under the weight limit.

Me too! That was a little TOO close for comfort. :scared:

I enjoyed hearing about your CBR memory. [

Thanks. that memory actually really choked me up. But it is one of my favorite memories.

Finally, I didn't even know you could see the welcome sign from the Magical Depress. How cruel! In July we are only taking the ME back to the airport from Disney since the first part of our trip is to Universal.

Well, sit at the back of the bus so you don't have to see it on the way home. I hope you July trip is great and I expect to read all about it. hint hint!

Loved the pictures from the plane. So detailed! The amusement park photo was great. I'm so sorry I can't help you identify any of the landmarks.

Thanks. And, yeah, being from Boston I really didn't expect you to recognized anything. :rotfl:

I look forward to your wrap up (loved the one from your last report). As others have said, it is sad that this one is over, but I'm so happy that you have trip literally around the corner!

I'm pretty excited about that. Now if I could just find the time to write this final chapter.

Checking in !!Any more from Hawaii????

Well, I am sure you have seen that she is BACK! But I want more pictures!!!!!

As usual, great TR MEK! Sorry to see it end but that just means it's closer to when we meet in October!! :cool1:

Yeah!!!!! :cool1: I can't WAIT until October! :cool1:

How long was between the 1st bridge picture and the underwater tunnel photo? I used to live in eastern NC and we would drive up Rt. 32 to Norfolk/Virginia Beach quite a bit and we would cross a bridge similar to that. If it isn't the bridge you were thinking, it might be the bridge on Rt. 32 crossing over the Albermarle Sound near Edenton, NC.

:welcome: cmaee! Thanks for joining in and providing us with your geographical knowledge. I appreciate your help in figuring out these geographical landmarks. :flower3:

As shocking as I know it is... I was behind again. :rolleyes1 I guess coming back to find you have finished serves me right for being away so long. ;)

No apologies necessary. I have hardly DIS'ed all week. I am the one that is WAY behind on everyone's TRs. I am going to "try" to catch up tonight.

I love all the pictures you got Mary Ellen! Especially the one of Madame!!!

I love my Madame picture! So thank you! :thumbsup2

The walk down memory lane was great!!! Some of my best memories of Disney trips were those early ones... at the height of good deals and low crowds. Plus... it was neat to read that you have enjoyed CBR. Planning to stay there in 4 months...

You got that right - low crowds and good deals. That definitely was the height for me. And I did really love CBR. It's one of the better resorts for running (IMHO) and when I last stayed there I actually ran over to POP. It was a little tricky, but I did it real early in the morning. I hope you love CBR.

I had to laugh at all the chair discussion... they are the creepiest things ever!! DD came in as I was viewing one of the pictures and I could tell it really bothered her too. Soooo creepy!!

The general consensus here is that those Nanny chairs are super creepy. I have to agree. Pretty hard to like a face on the top of a chair. :rotfl:

You definitely made the most of the weight in your suitcase didn't you!!! 49.5 pounds. WOW!!!

Phew - just made it in under the wire and I am promising to do better in June!

Your seat on the plane sure was awesome!!! You got great pictures AND didn't have to share space.

Can you believe it? I am so lucky to get that seat. I love when that happens and, believe me, it doesn't happen much.

How exciting you go back in just a couple weeks. :cool1:

:cool1: Can't wait!

Being late to TRs and missing a lot of updates is becoming my "thing" here....when DIStown is up and running I'll be the one thats always late to meetings and parties, I guess!

Well, I can relate because I have been perpetually late to everything this past week. There are so many TRs I need to catch up on. It's almost overwhelming.

Ok, I promise!! I would really like to try....Although, you and Cynthia (and MeMom and Pat and Emmysmommy and Kathy and Scott...the list goes on and on and on...and on...) are SO fabulous at writing them, mine may be quite plain in comparison! We will see if I am motivated to take good notes during my upcoming trip...

I am sure you will write a great TR! It's fun and a great way to relive a trip. So promise me you will think about it.

You "need options" too!!

That's too funny!

Try it on Denny next Saturday...see if he falls for it!

Options are definitely important! :cool1:

Its ok I will have to try and hunt you down on Facebook so at least you can see the pictures I post. I do enjoy keeping all my friends updated "in the moment!"
:thumbsup2

I would love to see the pictures you post. I always enjoy "in the moment" pictures. They are so much fun!

Great report! Can't wait to hear your final thoughts. :goodvibes

Hey Amy! Just realized I missed your comment earlier today. I am going to get to work on my final thoughts tomorrow. It's just been a busy week and I haven't had much time for the DIS.

The picture of the tunnel is actually the Monitor-Merrimack bridge tunnel that runs between Suffolk and Newport News, VA. The Tunnel to Norfolk is slightly east of there. The big dark spot on the upper left side of the pic is a coal yard!!

:welcome: DreamingofCastles. Thanks for joining in and helping me out with the tunnel picture. Good eyes noticing that coal yard. I can totally see it now that you pointed it out. Thanks again! :thumbsup2

Catching up after a long weekend away!

I'm still catching up and the weekend has been long gone. :upsidedow

I know this has been said already many times, but great Madame Leota picture!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I'm glad pixie dust was on my side during that photoshoot!

Leave it to Pat to have the photo evidence to clear up the Todd/Paul debate!!! :rotfl:

That photo sure came in handy, didn't it? I mean, who knew two creepy chairs could actually have names. :rotfl:

Nice wrap up to your final night! There are much worse ways to end a trip than enjoying a little of the MSEP! ::yes::

Many, many, many worse ways to end a trip. I am so happy I ended on such a high note.

I agree it is very difficult to get motivated when it is departure day! You did a great job of maximizing the pictures though! :cool1: Nice to know that Hurricane Joe's has a breakfast croissant, but I will take your advice and steer clear of the ham. Hopefully there is a bacon option. :confused3

I did go a little crazy with the pics - Come on - just say it. :rotfl: I really couldn't help myself. It's madness.

C
I enjoy the window seat on the plane. Like you I always try to figure out where I am based on what I am seeing out the window, but you seemed to do a little better job of it than I normally do.

Are you sure about that? :rotfl: Three readers actually picked out three landmarks that I totally got wrong.

C
And yes, Cynthia is trying to make us jealous!!! :rotfl:

She did a good job of it, didn't she? :rotfl:

Just catching up after a long weekend away from the boards...

I hear ya! I was away from the boards all last weekend and I'm not doing too much better this week. :rotfl:

I love getting the window seat and trying to figure out where we are when flying. I believe the golf course you flew over is Pine Valley Golf Club in New Jersey, which is generally considered one of the top 3 or top 5 golf courses in the entire country. It's fairly close to the amusement park in Clementon which another reader identified earlier and not far from Philly.:thumbsup2

Well, I am not surprised that the civil engineer of the group was able to identify some familiar landmarks. Thanks for adding to the mix. I have now successfully identify 4 landmarks (thanks to some wonderful readers) and I did not know that little factoid about Pine Valley. Interesting!

That is what I love about Disney- I can wander around safely. :rotfl2:

It is very reassuring to know that you can be out and about on your own and not have to worry. You really can't say that about a lot of places! :thumbsup2

Also catching up - not away but busy catching up around the house and such.
You made best use of the you last night and even departure day!!! Great run through the Swolfin and around the Boardwalk area.

I do love that area!!!

I hear ya on the house - we have several home improvement projects going on at once, but they all seem to pertain to our back porch/deck which we are trying to make look presentable for Nick's grad part. Let's see - painting, power washing, staining, new screens, new furniture (not necessarily in that order :rotfl:)

Less than 2 weeks. :cool1::cool1:

8 days NOW!!!!! :worship:

Less than 2 weeks :cool1::cool1: so jealous, I'm at the less than 7 month countdown now..ugh.

:cool1: Woo Hoo! 8 days! Can't wait. Feels sort of surreal!

$90 is INSANE! That is just WRONG! I hope you didn't get hit up with a lot of extra fees. I swear - for me its the shoes and the running clothes and my mickey towel - when I pack those I never feel like I have enough room for my regular clothes. I promise to do better in June! :thumbsup2

I love your magical bag and really wish I had one. I need something that won't let me go over the weight limit!

You had a good time on that flight with those photos, how lovely to have a whole row to yourself!

Can you believe I had a whole row? How great was THAT! :yay:

I really enjoyed your swolphin run photos

Thanks! It's such a pretty resort and I really would like to stay there some day. I enjoyed running through there in the morning. It was pretty neat!

Welcome back Cynthia. I can't believe you are already back.......

On behalf of Cynthia - thank you! Isn't it funny how time flies when you are having fun (or when you're not).

Ugh the last day, so sad!! Loved the pictures from your run, the Swan and Dolphin area is so pretty! :thumbsup2

Haha I love that you documented your whole flight home! I do the same thing when I can see land, I like to know where I am! When we used to drive to Florida (or anywhere when I was a kid) I was the dork in the backseat with the atlas, figuring out where we were and how many more miles we had to go, and then trying to figuring out when we'd get there. :rotfl2:

No life, clearly! :rotfl:

Can't wait for your final thoughts and trip recap! I love how you always manage to end your TR's right before you have another trip coming up too, I don't know how you plan it that way! :cool1:
