So Much To Celebrate - LIFE and Sophie Kate!

Hope your homeward journey is safe and smooth. Can't wait to see all the great photos you took of new places and adventures! Maybe Miss Anita would share a turtle photo or two, since you had to miss that fun.
Oh, too funny, speaking of Miss Anita Wigd: We were playing Celebrity Look-Alikes downtown last Saturday. DH spotted "Cher" and DD spied "Taylor Swift," but I took the grand prize for spotting Anita's doppelganger!

Just a quick check-in to say that we are all back at home now. We got to Jill's around 1 something and went straight to bed. I left her house around 9 this morning. I've got church camp starting tomorrow, so I have been moving stacks of food around in my den, getting canteen snacks ready, and making lists. I am about to start the task of unpacking one of my suitcases. The other will have to wait until late in the week.

We had a wonderful vacation. It was obviously quite different, since we did not do the parks. Our first day and night at Art of Animation was normal - first trip day excitement was definitely present. The girls enjoyed the pool, and eating Disney food was fun. The cottage in Vero was fabulous. There were three bedrooms w/baths downstairs and an open great room and kitchen upstairs. On the outside balcony, you could sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean. We did a few activities at the resort. We went off property to eat once, and we went to a nearby zoo. Some of the group got to see a turtle up close and personal, and some of us got to see one from afar. We got to meet up with several Disney friends at Vero. On the third section of the trip, we stayed at Kidani. From our balcony here, one could enjoy watching native African animals roam the plain. The girls enjoyed the kids' splash area at this resort. We also had a big Disney friends meet at DTD. Most of you have seen pictures on FB, I imagine. Too bad there was lightning and rain, as it messed up our golf plans. As someone said, though, we might do that in December, since parks will be crowded and we might be looking for activities that are less populated. If not, we will get to it eventually.

Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say a quick hello. I will finish the last day sometime this week when I have a break from the cam kitchen, and then we will move on with the next report, for anyone who is interested in following. I'm thinking the title of it might be Hakuna Kidani - What a Turtleful Phrase! That covers the AoA Lion King suite part, the Kidani ending, and all the turtle and non-turtle fun we had in between. What do you guys think? Sing it to yourselves a few times and see if you like it. Or maybe you'll just roll your eyes as you sing it and think about how crazy I am. ;)

I LOVE that TR title! Sounds perfect to me!

Noah & I are up for mini golf in December -- since the parks we'll be busy we'll probably do a lot of other things like mini golf.

I must be crazy too, because I think that's a great title!!

Glad you're all home safe and sound!
Best of luck with camp this week! I know it keeps you busy!

Welcome home! Sounds like a perfect title to me! Have fun at camp this week. I have such fond memories of church camp. :)

Welcome home!!! Can't wait to hear about the trip!!! I like the TR title!!! I have been following along on FB, but can't wait to see more pics!!!

I think that is the perfect title!
Have a great week at camp, :worship: Miss Betty Crocker of the camping world!

I love the title too! :thumbsup2

Take Care this week as you race around and spend countless hours cooking for camp.
This is such a wonderful thing you do every summer and I know the kids love you for it.
I hope your legs don't bother you so much this week with all the standing.

We would be up for mini golf as we have never done it before at Disney.
We don't get there til the evening of the 30th so many DIS friends may have already left WDW by then, not sure of everyone's plans.

Since we are getting close to the 180 mark for ADRs for NYE....is someone going to make one big reservation for O'hana?
Would it be easier if I just made one for myself, DMom and Lexi and we meet up later? :)

Enjoy camp!
Glad to have you back on the DIS and thank you for the nudge to follow on FB...it is really fun! ::yes:: I Like

Oh I almost forgot to share in some news...we decided to try a split stay in September.
Lexi and my DMom were a bit bummed about missing POP (they have fallen in love with it and think it's home) so I threw out the suggestion of a split stay and they jumped at it.
That's not all, after seeing Jill's picks of Kidani I made a suggestion of throwing a one night stay in between the two at AKL.
So it will be a new adventure for us to try the split stay and I plan to have a rental car to ease in things.
I was able to get 2 Boma ADR's so we will try dinner and we already love the breakfast.
So it will be 4 nights POP, 1 AKL, 5 at CB!!!

I love the title. So creative. Have a great week at camp. I know it is exhausting but so rewarding and important. You are an amazing person.

Title sounds great.
Welcome home.
Hope camp goes nice and smooth..
Looking forward to the finish of the old and start of the new.
The new will be especially new for me as i am not on facebook, so I saw no pictures....

Sounds liket you all had a good trip ....love the TR title and can't wait to hear all about it. Have a great safe time at camp!!!!

I haven't posted in a while due to busy life stuff, but school's out now & I should have more DIS time. :thumbsup2 I saw a lot of pictures on FB & can't wait for the full TR. Glad you had a great time! Have fun at camp MeMom!!

I love the title too! :thumbsup2

Quick check-in before I get ready to go to camp for breakfast. I should have a break between lunch and dinner today, and if so, I will put up another set of pictures on the report. I don't like going so long without an update, but the trip and camp back-to-back combo just makes for a long delay.

Lana, Katie and Jill are both going to try to get seatings for 12 (or 14, whichever is the max) at 'Ohana for around 9:00. We're going to connect the ADR's, if possible. Go ahead and make an ADR for your three, or however many, because it's always better to down size, and then you can cancel it if we have plenty of spots within our two reservations. I'd rather have too many spots and release them than not enough. Marc and Anita are going to be cruising on NYE now. They changed their plans a bit, so they won't need spots that night. I think they are coming back on the 2nd, so we may try to do the golf when they get back. :thumbsup2

Have a good day, all!

Welcome back, although I have been following your adventures on FB. I know you had a fabulous trip and I am looking forward to all the details. :thumbsup2
