Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 8/2/14 - 8/9/14

Okay, so you aren't going to want to read this, in fact I may get snarls. So I will apologize now, but I LOVE hearing about the snow and the cold. I LOVE cold weather, but must admit I don't think I could live in a snow area. Can I have the cold without the snow??? Our winter out here has been more like Spring with a hint of Summer. Does anyone want a visitor????

I'm with you, I love the cold and the snow. We're getting plenty of it here in VA this year. The only thing I don't like is being unable to run outside due to ice and wind. Even this northern girl is ready for the spring thaw! 187 days to go, everyone!

The weather here is so bad that school is cancelled until Wednesday. The wind chills today will be -20 to -30. Tomorrow it's going down to -22 real temperature, -45 with wind chill. It's so cold that you can only be outside for a few minutes without fearing frost bite.

On top of that, it's been close to blizzard conditions with blowing snow. The front of my house looks like the prairie - wind swept dunes of snow instead of my suburban sprawl.

BBRRRRRRR, I have a chill now. The coldest that I have ever experienced is 25 in Minnesota, then they had a heat wave of 45 until the day I went home and it was 27. I was really hoping to see zero or less on that trip. Negative temperatures is something that I only see on TV.

To ALL of my Cruising friends, if you are freezing....stay warm. Drive safe if you have to be out. You will thaw out soon enough and we will be on a cruise!!!

So, my little beach town is all over the weather channel tonight as we might have 10 inches of snow starting tomorrow! After 2 1/2 days off last week, we could be off the rest of this week too because we are not equipped to deal with snow. CRAZY! I am from the desert and now the beach, I can definitely say I DON'T like the snow other than it forces me to stay home and relax more and that is sometimes a good thing. Wow! That is crazy. We have the cold temperatures here, but no snow. Yesterday the high was 58, then by 7 pm, it dropped to 15. Woke up to 5 degrees this morning with wind chill below zero. In the middle of the plains we always have changing weather, but this is more extreme than usual.
I'm having a hard time imagining how hot it is going to be in Florida in August!

In the Philly area we started out at around 24 and supposedly got into the upper 30's/lower 40's but I didn't feel that. By the time I got off work the Siberian Express had started pulling in. We are supposed to be single digits tonight with a high of 17 tomorrow.

I don't care how hot it is in August, a cold drink in my hand and breeze blowing in my face is way better than this!!

Those of you in the Midwest/Plains, I will say prayers cause y'all are freezing out there!!!

Can't wait for the Florida/Caribbean Sunshine!! Bring it on!!!

I would be willing to try anything to not get any more snow!!! In NC we never had to worry about it, the snow went away on its own usually the same day or not more than a couple after. This stuff just hangs around because of the cold and before it can go, another storm comes along!! Can't wait to see the green grass, trees with leaves, flowers again!! Spring/Summer seem soooooo far away!!!

Close our eyes, think a happy thought...with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust...it will all go away!!

I was looking on the DCL website today to see how the fares were doing for our cruise. It looks like all the rooms that fit families of 5 are now gone. Very odd, there were a ton yesterday.

The rooms may not be gone. When people shop cruises, sometimes they put a hold on the room for a few hours or days and then they are released.

The irony is that when you check rooms, sometimes you unintentionally put a temporary hold on a cabin so that people can't book it

Our children actually prefer the Eastern itinerary because of the ability to use their phones half way through the cruise at St. Thomas. They go crazy for about an hour and then the phones go back in the safe

Hello all of my cold little vacationers. I hope you are staying warm.

I have a question about FE's. So we have 2 rooms, 3 people each. The 2 male adults aren't going to participate in the FE. I want to get an FE for my husband and I to have for future cruises (he is not going on this one), that has one pocket. My Aunt is thinking about getting an FE for her and her grandkids, which would have 3 pockets. So we would hang mine on one door and hers on the other. SO, my question is, should I list us separately on the FE list since we have 2 rooms and 2 families???

Joe also has two cabins, and has listed on one line. I have two cabins, but only 1 is participating.

Personally, I think it will be best, especially if you are willing, for us to list 1 cabin per line. (Joe, I'll happily adjust yours.)

I believe that it will be easiest overall for All participants if we can consider each cabin and its occupants. Though my parents are traveling with us, since they aren't participating, I'll remove them from my line.

The Only problem I foresee with my plan, is that we need to have the understanding that 20 cabins will not necessarily translate to 19 "gifts" since some families have more than 1 cabin. I don't believe that is a problem, myself, but please speak up if others disagree!
